Awesomenauts SRK unite!

My internet has been depressingly slow lately when I’ve been trying to play. My teammate was even talking shit.

I’ve gotta call time warner… My speed test is in like the 17th percentile nationally and I’m not getting my agreed upon Up//Down. Idk what to do because I’m only gonna be in this apartment for another ~6 months. Dammit

I’ll be on around 9:30 PM EST. Join me if you want to be on a winning team bitches. My Lonestar build is a fucking machine, ever since I tried it out I’ve been getting great results assuming I don’t have rage quitters on my team which is almost every game

There really needs to be much harsher penalties for rage quitters, these fuckin scrubs have the nerve to make excuses like “why stay on a losing team” or “we lost 1 turret there is no way we can come back!” Pussy ass modern gamers, this is what the hand holding generation has molded future gamers into, running away at the first sign of trouble rather than sticking it out like a man and putting in some effort

My Lonestar build:

3 sticks/life steal/damage over time
bull push farther/cool down reduce/damage
20% faster shot/missile/+4 damage shot
life increase/regeneration/solar over time

Every game the first 2 things I buy is solar over time and regeneration, so the first minute of the game I have 135 solar to buy dynamite. Then I just play defensively killing droids and helping teammates until I have 270 solar to buy a 3rd stick which takes awhile as early game kills are rare but when I finally get it I can safely poke at turrets and be a little more aggressive. Then I save 220 for life steal and as soon as I get it it’s really hard for the enemy team to win unless they have a healer because 3 lifesteal sticks is hella clutch especially when a teammate damages an opponent and I get the stick kill on them. Next I save up 150 for both damage over time upgrades and by this point I’m scary to fight 1v1 unless you’re a high health character or vinnie. Next I droid kill until I get second regeneration, all 3 health increases, and it’s GG as my Lonestar is a nearly unkillable tank. Then I save 360 for +4 shot damage, 210 for %20 speed on my shot, and then missile, but usually the game is over by the time I get the +4 damage upgrade.

People always say bull is useful to push with but my tank build proves this is the optimal build for Lonestar, it’s only weakness is vs coco since I don’t have the triple jump upgrade it’s nearly impossible to dodge coco’s lightning ball since it got buffed with a big damage and hitbox increase. Seriously fuck coco her lightning ball is broken since it can hit you while you’re in the shop and goes much further past turrets than you would think and it goes through almost all stage obstacles, with the way it works now she is either the best or 2nd best character,

Besides Coco’s broken ass lightning ball and Vinnie being unkillable 1v1, this game is really balanced though.

I’m really interested about the lack of boots… I’ve been working on breaking my game down to try to improve a bit 1) playing random 2) using kb+m to aim a bit better 3) not going boots+piggy bank right off the bat by default.

I’ll play a bit tonight until I get super fucking pissed off at my internet. Yeah, RQ’ers suck camel ball lice. Fuck 'em. Even though I’ve thought about leaving because my connection was so shitty I thought I could help my team out by leaving

Speaking only for myself, while the extra mobility is nice it wasn’t having a tangible effect on the game or my stats and since it’s mandatory to have regeneration for any character it only makes sense ditching mobility for life inrease and going all out tank. The tank build+the triple lifesteal sticks seriously make Lonestar hard to kill 1v1 and it allows me to fight turrets by myself long enough to get droids on them and then while they tank for me I regenerate my huge life bar and when they die I fight turret solo and the process repeats until turret death. Even when an enemy comes to save their turret I have my lifesteal sticks to keep me alive long enough to get away.

Basically tanking with Lonestar has kept me alive much longer than running away has, also the tank build DPS is pretty sick as lifesteal stacks with damage over time making it so that I can hit opponent with the sticks and then run away and tank long enough until cooldown resets and I hit them with stick again and get the kill lol. I’ll show you the build in action tonight, just remember it’s a mid game build, so it’s kind of weak for the first few minutes of the game.

Just played a game with a bot so that’s basically 2V3 as bots are free kills for opponents, but this was 2v4…yeah you read that right, the enemy team had 4 guys…WTF how is that possible?!

So what do you guys think is the current tier list? IMO it’s:

Top tier
Coco
Leon
Vinnie

High tier
Everyone else

We all know Coco’s lightning ball is the most bullshit move in the game, it’s like the perfect ability it does everything better than every other move, but her speed and lightning tail skill make her almost as impossible to touch as Vinnie.

Leon has the best DPS in the game, he will tear anyone to shreds in seconds that and him being able to be invisible makes him a brain dead character to get tons of kills with.

Vinnie isn’t as outright broken as Coco, his DPS on his AoE is great and it’s basically impossible to dodge, but what makes him better than everyone besides Coco and Vinnie is his runaway game. As all of you know he is just impossible to kill, only way to do it is to take the hit of his AoE and hit him back.

Everyone else has their own shit that make them valuable so it would be splitting hairs to make tiers for them, but the top 3 are definitely a cut above the rest for sure.

Also what are the best duos and trios? IMO Yuri slow bubble+Ayla DPS bubble is the most dangerous combo, good thing it’s not used much. Swiggins hook or Clunk snare+any DPS is always a safe good choice too.

I haven’t played this in a few months. Last I remember, Raelynn got a nasty nerf and I switched to Vinnie. Have they added new characters other than Squiggins?

Ayla was in there too but she was before swiggins. Speaking of, I learned when you are getting chased down by an Ayla you need to move North and South not East and West. Her y-movement speed in rage mode is a lot slower than her x. I’ve played some amazing Raelynns still that get sick amounts of kills, shes been buffed recently with her time warp doing damage automatically, I think that’s new anyways…

Tiers are weird because if you are looking at the top high level play it tends to change heavily on comp vs. comp. I agree that Coco’s lb is sick but mostly because of how deadly it is up close, she can just pop ~90 damage on you. If you are getting hit with it from across the map or behind turrets you are usually fucking up, not always but usually. I don’t think Vinnie is a huge problem if you keep track of how much damage he is doing with his dive and heal when ever you get to a point where him splashing on you is going to be a big problem. Though on the map with the Wyrm he is a huge issue because of how open the sky is. Gnaw with a good team early game can usually net a pretty solid lead but he definitely gets weaker as the game goes on, just lack of damage without fully upgraded spit and bite upgrades (that +2 upgrade doesn’t get unlocked till level 101 and I [like a dumbass] prestiged). Gnaw is still the man though

Slow, and blind to a lesser extent, has been pissing me off to no end recently, so much so that I’ve debated putting on the De-Buff ability on all of my loadouts. I just haven’t played recently because its dead week until after finals. So yeah Yuri with a slow ball, slow laser is really powerful with any team. Leon with damage and slowing effect on blade is like retarded.

Don’t die as Rae vvv ( fucking HATE vine)

the main problem with LB isn’t the damage or the vortex effect it has on hot or even the ridiculous hit box it’s the fact that Coco can shoot it at to from way off your screen and by the time it gets on any side of your screen it’s usually too late to dodge. If you aren’t actively aware of where Coco is at all times and when the cool down of LB resets she will just own you and even then it sucks because you have to divert most of your attention to her. usually my strategy as LS against her is to bait LB since most Coco’s shoot it diagonally upwards expecting me to jump over it so I just stand still but in tight spaces doesn’t matter who you are it will hit you so never engage Coco 1v1 in a confined area like those small creep tunnels.

Like I said Vinnie isn’t as broken, he’s just a survivor due to his run away game it feels like he has 3 life bars, also their AoE can hit you and your droids from 1 level below since it goes through walls ughh that’s annoying.

Good tip about Ayla I’ll definitely keep that in mind.

You use Gnaw regularly so you know best, but from what I’ve seen it’s the opposite. He starts off weak because you now your teammates have the upgrades to keep the still weak weeds alive long enough to farm effectively, while the later the game goes on the better weeds become because they can take a few hits, and then when you clump 3 or more together on one platform oh man it feels like an extra turret there

When I first started playing I thought Voltar was th best by far because he can just heal droids as they attack turrets and it creates such a huge advantage so early, but then after rolling him for awhile I see it’s not that simple, he’s still somewhat easy to use just as long as you have 1 DPS teammate.

Weeds tend to have diminishing returns as more turrets go down as there is more space for the enemy team to go around them and spit’s advantages are more readily apparent in my view. I think that just means I need to find better places for my nests as the game goes on. I’ve got a killer spot on AI 404. Secondary position on Sonoma sucks, the newest level I don’t know what to do with weeds after both enemy turrets are down.

Also found this cool website yesterday: http://nautsbuilder.com/#

GET FUCKIN HYPE.

Ted McPain alt outfit. Its totally not a marine from starcraft (which in turn is totally not a space marine from Warhammer)

I’m waiting until Christmas sale to cop Starstorm, but I played vs Ted today and he’s OP as fuck, easily the most broken character. He has Dante jam session and lay a bunch of grenades all over the map so he has better map control than anyone else or he basically an insta kill up close.

That jam session covers the whole map it’s like Coco’s lightning ball if it were a giant vertical line.

This game has come a long way and its good that SRK pays mind to this game. Ted is a good character, but I feel as if Swiggins/Leon/Coco/Skolldr still beats him on damage and space control

Ted is really slow. You would think wothout the friction of pants he’d be able to move pretty quick. mines and air strike are definitely good though

one of the things I love most is how balanced this game is at least now. Sure Coco and Vinnie and now Ted have better bullshit than the others, but everyone has retardedly powerful shit, there is no “bad” character so in that way it reminds me of ST.

So I’ve decided to slightly alter my build. I’m getting bull lvl1 ASAP and then my usual stick burst tank build because I need bull for to keep me alive early game, my build has been too greedy, I think this will be the true optimal LS.

X_sword add us on steam and Exodus you should main Ted please don’t go random this season stick with 1 or 2 guys I want to make league 1 lol.

I’ll prob end up sticking with gnaw for most of my games and getting bite upgrades pretty quickly.

I figured out what my main problem was with Ted earlier, he can’t back up while shooting. He can move forward, that’s why it took so long for me to figure that out, but he is semi-turret-y .

Voltar and Party Boy Ted are the only choices for me. :coffee:

Placing 4 or more weeds on a choke point platform and keeping them all alive till they’re fully grown is rape and putting them in health creep makes gnaw out level everyone in the game, but I see what you mean about diminishing returns. The splitting spit and the dripping spit offer just as much lane control as weeds and do more DPS, spit in general combined with a gnaw that bites you a few times is instant death  he’s actually kind of scary when the spit traps are setup because gnaw is fast and can chase you down after you get poisoned easily.

Generally I’m against the desire for buffs/nerfs in games because I feel they spoiled gamers, but for such a well balanced game the few OP elements stand out and need to be addressed. For the next patch whenever that is we need the following changes:

-Nerf Coco’s lightning ball hitbox and damage
-Nerf Vinnie’s speed a little not much though
-Nerf Leon’s DPS a tiny bit (not sure if this is necessary)
-Nerf Ted’s air strike hitbox as it is currently wider than the actual beam itself.
-institute harsher penalties for quitting mid game like possibly a temporary ban if you do it repeatedly, I’ve never encounters a more bitchmade scrubby online community than this, where rage quitting is so acceptd

These are small but needed changes which no one should disagree with. As an ST player I welcome a fair amount of cheap bullshit as long as it’s not game breaking, but the top 4 need a little adjusting for sure.

I preemptively judged Ted too harshly, nigga ain’t been out for 48 hours  He himself isn’t broken or anything, but his air strike ability definitely is in it’s current form, it’s just too powerful and versatile with no risk.
