I never understood mai and zuko. rewatching the last season it seems so forced, like neither really wants to be around the other.
think tai li would have been cooler and been a good counter-balance to his overly serious attitude

Azula was going crazy. Her distrust was her downfall. Her mother, although she loved Azula felt she was unbalanced, cruel and likely evil. She used fear to manipulate the people around her (Fire Nation commanders, Ty Leeā¦etc). Although her attitude may have been because their mother clearly favored Zuko more, but her attitude was left unchecked which let it run freely and grow into what we saw in the series until a string of events drove her to insanity.
When Mai stood up for Zuko it shattered her reality because Mai although never feared Azula, was always a more of a friend to her than a just another person she could manipulate and push around. Similar goes for Ty Lee, though Ty Lee actually feared Azula, Ty Lee got the courage to finally stand up to Azula because Mai had the courage to do the same. This drove Azula mad and put her into an emotional spiral that made her question everything and one.
The thing that really made her snap is when Ozai made her stay at the Fire Nation Capitol. He did not want her part of the invasion and she had no idea why. After all she had done for her father and her people she was basically given a runner up prize for her services and Ozai, although likely proud of Azula, did not care for her well being or psyche.
So if she couldnāt trust her friends, her soldiers, and ultimately her family. Who could she trust? It drove her over the deep end and made her incredibly unstable which is why Zuko and Katara were able to capture her.
Sokka is likeā¦16. Toph is about 11.
Soā¦no. lol
Dude, itās ASIA. Age aināt nothing but a number.
Bad touch.
BY THE WAY!
The Graphic Novel series comes out on the 25th. It serves as the bridge between the 2 animated seriesā
Edit: Amazon says Graphic Novel Series comes out on the 7th. But everywhere else says the 25th. So iunno. Regardless, I plan on getting them.
New clips of TLOK. Korra is definitely my new favorite character. She kicks so much ass! I love everything about Avatar.
Their attitude, not mine.
I really, REALLY like Korraās design. She actually looks like a chick that can kick your ass. Even though they could have went with the cop-out of her Avatar powers enhancing her skills, they didnāt go with the waif look(thin waist, scrawny arms, unnecessarily large bust. etc). Sheās drawn with a fighterās build, i.e. broad shoulders, large biceps, and a smaller bust line. Korra LOOKS like she should- someone whoās been training mentally and physically her whole life. Kudos to the character designers on that one. The animation looks absolutely fantastic⦠I canāt wait for this show to start up.
RE: Azula vs Katara⦠Not to make this into a versus thread, but I really have to give to Azula over Katara 7 out of 10 times. Sure, Katara leveled up dramatically over the course of the series and could definitely hold her own, but Azula is a frigginā Fire-bending prodigy. Bitch was throwing out lightning bolts like her name was Thor. Remember her debut? When she schooled all of Team Avatar in under a minute? Beyond just her fighting prowess, sheās also a master manipulator and strategist. This is the girl that subjugated the Dai Li by giving their their commander-in-chief the verbal beatdown of a lifetime. She was so cold that even her Uncle Iroh had to take her seriously. Repeat that. IROH. SAW. HER. AS. A. THREAT.
I got mad respect for Katara, but excluding a full moon or a nearby body of water, sheās doing all she can to not get bodied for free. Donāt sleep on Azula. She will own your shit.
Personally I think Korra looks like Katara with a different hair cut. Itās her attitude that makes her more appealing.
Still confused on Mai and Zuuko, Katara was eye balling Zuuko the entire time they were together. Aang even got jealous she wasnāt paying attention to him in a romantic way.
Just got done rewatching the whole series, they really got it right with Avatar - U can tell it was a real labor of love. I think itās the voice acting that really impressed me, quality all around, as well as the comedic elementsā¦some of those were pretty funny.
Only downside isā¦its over Plus i imagine theres gonna be a long ass wait for the new series. The new scenes posted above do look impressive, Im excited for the new series! I do wanna see some more varied techniques or offshoots of the various bending styles tho.
Wow might have to snap thru trhis series again or atleast the last season.
I think itās weird how the police can metal bend. Itās supposed to be a rare ability, not something police fodder (Iām assuming) can do.
Itās surprising to see how many times they showed a Lion Turtle. I donāt know if that was their intentions from the beginning, but you can see a picture of it in the desert library (somebody mentioned this already) as well as statues in Sokkaās masterās place. Iām sure there are other allusions sprinkled throughout the series.
Has anybody discussed Irohās fire bending? How would he fair against Azula? I think shear power and ability, Azula wins. She shoots lightning and blue flames like nothing. Iroh rarely does it, if at all. But Irohās skill seems to be top tier. I think heād beat Azula cleanly.
Edit: Yeah, I am doing a vs. subject. Stopping now.
Iroh. When fighting against Iroh or Zuuko you have to win with fire as the redirection technique is an auto-counter to Lightning. Azula relies on cheap tricks and strategy where in a straightup fight she wouldnāt have an advantage. Azula was always high tier because she always set everything up to where she had an advantage. In the final season Azula is forced to fight without a plan against Zuuko on the Gondola and Zuuko most definitely held his own. Zuuko was also winning the final Agni-Kai against Azula and only lost because he was forced to take a lightning bolt to save Katara. Azula resorted to that tactic because she realized she was losing.
Since Zuuko thinks Iroh is significantly stronger than him (On par with Ozai), she wouldnāt stand a chance.
Toph teaches metal bending to the World after the series so it becomes common knowledge and is an extension of earth bending.
That dudes core skills are too strong. Dude knows his footsies too good. He donāt need combos and special blue lightning shit. Heāll just zone your ass out.
Azulas all gimmicks an shit. Once sheās out of tricks and gimmicks she has to rely on real tactics and her base games too weak.
Water > Fire
Katara won a 7-3 matchup. Not impressed
Edit: Scratch that. Firebenders apply way too much force behind their attacks for it to be that bad of a matchup.
In the last season, when Zuko joined the crew and Aang went missing, Zuko thought that the only person that would be able to take on Ozai would be Iroh, so yeah there is no doubt that guy is secret god-tier. Oh and he can shoot fire out of his mouth.
whos drawing it?
fuck if I know.
Iām pretty sure smashing a prepubscent girl is not on any of the male characters list of things to do? Oh hotter girls my age over here or little blind girl who like to punch things? Ehhhh Iāll take TEENAGE pussy please.
Gurihiru =D
They drew some comics for Marvel, and theyāre drawing the Avatar book-
http://intl.garena.com/
Funnily enough, I was checking their website a few weeks ago and thatās when I saw the artwork for the Avatar book. Was really glad to see them working on a new book as itās been months since Iāve seen anything new from them.
oh i love that groups work.
Yeah, like they can really show the kid-young adult audience what kinda creepiness sexually the characters might have on their mind due to their generationās dominant fetishes. Compensated dating is more than likely not a new thing, but it does stem from one thing: loving them kids.
