Hmm…I’m tempted to watch the series again considering the it’s been like two years since I watched it last already.
I’m pretty sure that the M. Night Shaymalan abomination hasn’t damaged the show that greatly, especially considering that it probably got boycotted harder and had more fan backlash than any other movie in the past century. Maybe ever.
so any details on anti-bending chi blocker squad? mentally i imagine chi blocking is something like pressure point attacks…possibly a fist of the north star reference?
(Hmm…so the ability to bend is supposedly genetic, but the type of bending one can do is purely a cultural thing. Weird. I’ll have to verify that Youtube comment sometime…)
I think chi-blocking and anti-bending at the same thing, though I may be wrong. It’s not new or anything considering that Ty Lee was doing it temporarily–which is why some mentioned the Kiyoshi Warriors given she joined them in the end–way before Aang did it permanently to Ozai.
So it’s not a reference to Fist of the North Star or, at least, not a new reference.
I’d lol really hard if “Oman” was just elderly Azula in disguise, but it’s probably someone else if they’re related to Ozai. I wouldn’t be surprised if someone’s that related to one of the main characters from the main/original series, though.
crosses fingers in vain hope that Azula shows up as Hama-esque character given that she was like 15 when the series ended
I think the Energybending “anti-bending” is complicating things here.
The Equalists are a militant group ideologically opposed to the whole idea of bending, and they use both techniques and technologies to stop it. I assume it includes both physical devices and something like Tai Lee’s martial arts.
The “anti-bending” thing is part of what Aang did to rob Ozai of his power.
I’m not seeing anything about anti-bending technology. The lot of the technology in the Avatar world is still steampunk. Unless this tech are guns I’m not seeing it
I woulda just left some porn where he could find it 15 minutes before the fight. He was drunk on power, feeling like he was king of the world and would been all “Why the hell NOT?”, shoots some lava, and is at less than half power when Aang kicks that shit off.
nice, where? I don’t have cable…and I know I’m missing a lot of great cartoons but this is the only one that makes me regret it. but if it still comes out online it’s not too bad (and I’ll prob be buying the DVDs for this Avatar too)
