I can remember 3 different ones. The one where they argue over which element bending is the best, shown in your post…
Another is the characters in a classroom about who is going to the school dance, and another with Sokka fishing with the swamp benders. They are included in the Book 3 dvd set, and I think they were shown randomly on tv during the time inbetween season 2 and 3.
Does anyone know if we are going to get an avatar 1-3 blue ray set? Because I watched season 1 on my new tv and it looks pixelated as hell.
Live action cast revealed. You guessed it, all white peoples!
M. Night Shyamalan has found the cast for The Last Airbender, his upcoming live-action film based on the popular anime-inspired Nickelodeon series. The youthful group is mostly filled with unknowns who are likely to be household names by the time Paramount opens the first in its potential three-film franchise in July 2010. After an open casting call in Texas, Shyamalan discovered karate star Noah Ringer and offered him the part of Airbender’s 12-year old hero, Aang, an Avatar with superpowers who must stop the Fire Nation from destroying the world. Twilight’s Jackson Rathbone has been asked to play Aang’s pal Sokka, while Nicola Peltz (Deck the Halls) will star as his sister Katara. Genial singer Jesse McCartney, meanwhile, is negotiating to play against type in the role of the Fire Nation’s evil prince Zuko.

They should just use Dante Basco for Zuko.
that movie’s got at least 3 kinds of fail writtin on it.
M. Night Shyamalan, jesse Mccartney and M. Night Shyamalan
Haha, people in the comments are so mad. For some reason one guy is pissed that Noah Ringer knows karate but not kung fu, instead of the fact that he’s white. I dunno why anyone cares though, the movie was guaranteed to be a bust from the beginning. This just confirms it even more.
Dragon Ball Z and this movie will keep me out of the theaters for quite some time.
I would love to see M Night Shamalyan do another great movie.
Sadly this doesn’t look like it will be it. I can take having white folk in certain roles (although a white Zuko is just lame) but just based on what they will ultimately have to cut and the cast, things are not looking up for this adaptation.
Shamalyan did a great movie? or are you talking about when he stumbled upon a formula for movies that at best, works once?
what a tweest!
Why does there even have to be a live-action movie? Just make an animated movie and save a bunch of money while making more in the end. This is what happens when people with no idea about the source material are told to make a movie about it and do it in their own style instead of what’s already been established.
This!
Is!
SPARTA!
explodes in rage similar to Leonidas upon reading the news
Seriously.
If what I plan to do fiction-wise ever becomes popular enough to merit some type of movie and I didn’t object to it, then there is no way in HELL that I’m going with a live-action cast.
I seriously don’t understand why the regular animators aren’t animating it themselves. Is it because the movies are supposed to be (impossible 2-hour) retellings of all three books? I mean, what the hell are the point of these and who signed off on them?
sharpens axe while awaiting answer
if people are smart they’ll just disregard this thing and deny it ever existed. you’ll only be punishing yourself if you go out of way to watch it.
Indeed. I think the trailer will be sufficient enough to initiate puking for most people.
Hayden Panettiere as Ty Lee.
She looks like her and has had gymnastics training, doesn’t get any better than that.
how do u know Noah Ringer is white? i cant find a pic of him…he prob is… just wondering
They want to have an epic live action fantasy trilogy in the same vein as the Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter and the Narnia flicks. Although its funny, I hear they can’t even use the title Avatar for the movie because of James Cameron or somebody.
Over the last couple of weeks I finally watched most of this amazing series. Six episodes left to go. I wish I watched this sooner. Except for “The Painted Lady.” That episode blew.
I like Toph, because she could convincingly be a better Earthbender than anybody else, Avatars includes. I like how the “specialists” have special abilities Aang himself doesn’t have (healing, metal bending, etc.) and, if there ever is a fourth season (and I hope there is) I want to see this expanded, along with Aang’s “specialty” being the combination of the four.
Some questions (please avoid spoilers if at all possible):
-
Does the show end in a way that leaves it open for additional seasons (of the animated, non M. Night variety) using the same cast of regulars?
-
Does the live action movie exist in its own canon (please say “yes” so I can avoid it like the plague)?
1.sorta but without telling too much. it pretty much concludes everyones story but 1 character.
- Yes. (Zuko)
- It’s just a rehash of the three books.
