Avatar: The Legend of Korra - Book 4

The music in LOK>>>>>>>>.

I love the remix of the ATLA theme

I thought it was gonna end on some Dark World, Link to the past shit. That would of been dope to see season 3 deal with the world in chaos.

Anybody read the official comics for TLA? If so…(recent spoilers in spoiler obviously)

Spoiler

What do you think are the chances of Azula appearing in Korra are? Zuko is still alive, she’s free now, and with them finding and speaking to their mother it seems she will slowly turn to the good side. Ursa says that she has a greater destiny in Azula’s visions…It’d be interesting for someone like her to help Korra down the line.

If you haven’t read the comics, you should, especially The Search trilogy. You’re missing out on some big bombshells.

Ending could have been better, not keen on taking out the connection to the past lives or the continued tradition of the main character barely getting by except with either a Avatar state or some other assistance to ā€˜win’ fights. But overall it was epic and the fights were good.

She is my brother’s right hand, his Pepper Potts you don’t get put into as many compromising situations as those two get put in without there being a deeper bond beyond boss and assistant. Not to mention, Varrick is to quote 2 Chainz off the Lil Wayne track, ā€œRich as Fuckā€, son tried to kill the president to start a international war and he gets the best prison cell in the area.

god, korra era sucks. so many good ideas… but too many ideas. suffers from too many plot lines, too many characters, trying to be too epic for its own good.

i wish they would just kill this era and move on. korra just hasn’t been invested in enough to be compelling because they spent too much time on 2 separate storylines with over a a few dozen key characters.

they should take a step back, see what they did so great with Beginnings 1 and 2, and try to wrangle that in to a new story. maybe even a prequel with a previous avatar.

i just feel that there are so many creative hands in this that you get this huge mess of great artistic ideas and characters that it never feels cohesive and fitting it all in just takes too much away from meaningful plot development. the talent in this show is so good, it would be great to see them refocus and try again. watching them devote another 2 season to salvage korra feels like we are missing out on something potentially greater. I think Beginnings 1 and 2 are evidence of that.

I agree. The Varrick plot didn’t do anything other than vindicate Mako’s existence and tether Asami back to him. It’s fortunate that Varrick was actually quite entertaining to watch otherwise this would’ve been more noticeable.

I honestly wanted the next Avatar to have a brand new person in an even more modern world, but the events with Korra in the finale makes that impossible for the next 5-6 years at least. sigh

lol Well in Varrick’s defense he was only trying to kidnap the president to basically force his hand on invading. maybe get his fugly wife felt up Crash movie-style for that rage inducement

This season blew. I have little hope for future ones and that makes me sad.

So, the connection with the old Avatars is gone… That’s the part I didn’t like.

Why? Because my theory is that they made that to balance the terrain for the ā€œDark Avatarā€ cycle begin next season onwards

So, the boring ā€œgood vs evilā€ storyline is just going to be carried over for next season and probably all the probable ā€œAvatar Legend ofā€¦ā€ series that could come out.

They changed that for bad.

She should craft an Iron Woman suit for next season.

Considering that Lin will have a much larger role in Book 3, it’s likely that somehow she will be able to bend all metal, since her metalbending couldn’t work on Hiroshi’s mechs in Book 1.

I’d like to see that. On a darker note, though I love that Asami is able to keep herself together, I actually want to see her get pissed. Not Korra level pissed, since Asami’s more refined than that, but the story seems to ignore how she feels. The girl nearly snapped and murdered Hiroshi, which I found rather interesting.

It’s not that metal benders can bend metal, it’s that they can bend the impurities within the metal. Toph wouldn’t be able to bend those mechs either.

Nick should’v given Bryke 4 books from the start. It messed everything up

I’m surprised nobody noticed, or at the least expressed, why Korra was being bitchy up to a certain point this season.

The giant spirit that attacked her when fighting the twins wasn’t the only incident where negative energy infected her. The season premiere in which she first fought dark spirits was how she initially became infected.

Her whole negative attitude and excessive abrasiveness towards everyone came from that first incident. It’s why she was being mean/rude, and became much more calm and collected after being purged of that same energy. The only thing that the giant dark spirit did was overload her body with negative energy to the point of destroying her from the inside.

That does sound like it fits neatly into her behavior, except that she wasn’t the only one fighting negative spirits, so she must’ve been super-receptive to get her bitch-o-meter on max from just that incident. I also remember her being somewhat abrasive and unruly at the Air temple as well.

Still sad that the link to past avatars is gone but if you look in the statue room at one of the air temples there was only room for 1 more statue (Korra) so I guess having her kinda restart the process was planned from the start. The air nomads that made that room probably expected harmonic convergence to come and restart everything again and made room for 10,000 years worth of statues.

Edit: Found a picture to go along with it

Another room/temple can be built. It’s kinda dumb to be like ā€œomfg in 10,000 yrz we shuld totez has new avatar shite.ā€

But im sure the first air nomads who were around at the time of the first harmonic convergence were expecting something huge to happen at the next. Yeah another room can be easily built by why end it in the middle? And its not really new avatar shit its just the avatar starting anew, Wan was the first after harmonic convergence and after the next one Korra loses the link to all the past avatars being both the last and first.

Korra truly has to be one of the worst avatars. Losing the connection to past avatars is really bad, as in the writing. How can you lose your past lives? They all share a single soul, right?

Anyway, part 3 of the search is out. Zuko’s mom finally appears. Azula still wants to kill her. And the truth about Zuko’s real father!!! dun dun.

Niggas got the spoilers on deck with absolutely zero concern tho.

No spoilers there, it’s announced on the back cover of the comic and in countless previews on the net. But if you want some spoilers

[details=Spoiler]They were leading you to think Zuko’s father was Ikem, Ursa’s previous lover. However, they showed that indeed Zuko is the son of Ozai.

Team avatar meets the mother of the face stealer, demon from ATLA.[/details]
