yeah that’s been reported since before the season even started
I didn’t know Kierna Shipka(Sally Draper on Mad Men) voiced Jinora.

I think the primary reason I enjoyed those 2 episodes so much is that it went back to the fantasy elements of Avatar that I enjoyed so much. Korra’s removed a lot of those fantasy elements and focused more on an Industrial Revolution era with a lot of politics. While that can be interesting in it’s own way it wasn’t the aspects that made Avatar enjoyable in the first place.
Unalak’s probably in contact with Vatu to begin with. He was seen leaving the spirit world portal in the previous episode so I’m assuming he’s crossed that plain that Wan closed off initially.
In Avatar: The Last Airbender, the Dragon Turtle said before bending, the humans bent the energy of their bodies.
I really hoped they would show some ki-users in this flashback. But they didn’t
Yah, I was hoping some really broken people in the past and there was a huge war. Then their civilization ended, people essentially having to start over and/or a fraction of what their capabilities were. And the Avatar is like the last remnant of how things were in the past.
IE: People bent energy/multiple elements in the past. They all destroyed each other. The survivors diluted their powers, making only people that have only 1 element.
i like the princess mononoke meets pandora’s box story. but creatively i felt like they coulda created something more unique…its very obvious where they took the ideas of the story from and that makes me a bit sad creatively.
I think they wanted it to seem like an old folktale which is what it exactly felt and looked like.
Same here. If I had to guess, I’d say that the ki-users existed years before Wan was even born. It’s a shame that we never got to see the extent of what Energybending can do (aside from remove and restore bending). Come to think of it, I wonder if Energybending can be inherited like the other 4 elements. It’d be an interesting plot point if Bumi had the latent ability to do it or something.
Lion turtle lol. Yeah, that part was interesting.
“The true mind can weather all the lies and illusions without being lost.
The true heart can tough the poison of hatred without being harmed.
Since beginning-less time, darkness thrives in the void, but always yields to purifying light.”
"In the era before the Avatar, we bent not the elements but the energy within ourselves.
Apparently, that lion turtle is the last one since all the others got hunted down.
There’s some interesting stuff in the trivia section
The lion turtle was well received by some critics of the Sozin’s Comet special. Others, however, claim that the lion turtle teaching Aang energybending to defeat Ozai without killing him was a deus ex machina, a cop-out used by writers when they have written themselves into a corner, though they claim they had created this concept prior to its introduction.[9] Many were also critical that his voice was too difficult to understand.[10]
I really liked how benevolent the lion turtles were. It’s a shame their own kindness ended being the cause of their demise.
Even in fantasy worlds humans still find ways to fuck things up.
it did but it was just too blaintant where they got the ideas from…hell even the look of he world was very mononoke.
New comic about reviving Yang Chen’s celebration, the most warlike air bender avatar
We finally get to speculate who’s that baby’s daddy. Somebody get Bei-Fong and Toph on Maury.
Was there no new episode of Korra last night? I don’t see it on nick.
Don’t think so. I can’t find any references to an episode 9 having been shown this weekend.
It’s most probably due to the fact that we got two episodes last week.
EDIT: Searched on Google, episode 9 “The Guide” is scheduled for November 1.
I hate it when they do breaks like that. Scumbag Nick… give us a pair of episodes that revitalizes our faith in the Korra series only to say nah too much awesome too quickly. >_<
Hey, just be glad it isn’t CN doing the scheduling
I just hope they actually go back to the whole Varrick situation, and that they don’t just skip to the end of the whole thing (say the next episode started with his arrest). I actually want to see Asami’s reaction upon realizing she’s been screwed over. Also, I wonder if the kiss will be brought up again, though it would be no point since Mako and Korra aren’t dating anymore and there aren’t any feelings between him and Asami, so there wouldn’t be any drama. However, I wonder when people are going to realize that Korra’s been missing for a minute.
Aside from that, it could be just me, but the show seems dead without Tenzin interacting with the main characters. It’s nice to see him interacting with my family, along with Kya and Bumi, but I did like the relationship between Tenzin and Korra. I also want to see more of Eska, or at least give her an Azula where she has a scene to herself (like when Azula imagined her mother in the mirror near the finale). Since she seems to be an interesting character (especially after Peacekeepers), I’d like to see more of her mental state.
Korra time
Just got done watching it…absolutely hyped for next week. Just really annoyed as always that it’s only every week sigh. Also, the more I keep looking at Asami, the hotter she looks each & every time. Ginger also has me raising my eyebrow. After this episode, Jinora has become my favorite child of Tenzin, quite honestly, she’s the type of child you’d want to have lol.
Makos fling w/ Asami right now although he’s “broken up” w/ Korra which honestly won’t last long. I’m starting to get weary that it’ll result in her turning Heel in which I hope she does not. You know how crazy girls can get if they get stabbed, but if it’s done twice…and by the same dude. All I can see is a heel turn afterward.
honestly i could do without the Mako Asami shit.
Damn so Unalaq and Vaatu are together. I think the twins will turn their backs on him
