Well, Zuko’s flip-flopping was due to still believing he could gain his father’s love and respect, so it made sense in the context of his character arc.

I do hate slight recons to previous developments though, like Ben 10s maturity going downhill after Alien Force, raising back up a bit, then going downhill again in the new series just because the new writers have a hard on for og whiny ass Kid Ben.
