I was disappointed with the ending. Too convenient for my taste. Are the creators worried that there won’t be a second season? Is it horrible of me of wanting to see Korra struggle some more instead of that deus ex machina?

i didn’t like the markorra ending as well. personally i like the chemsitry between him and asami more then him and korra
If I’m not mistaken there wasn’t suppose to be a season 2 (correct me if I’m wrong people) which there is going to be. I don’t know why they thought ppl wouldn’t be just as excited for this as for TLA. The show should have been a full blown sequel series to TLA instead of being initially conceived as just a mini series. That’s why everything seems so speedily strung together.

[details=Spoiler]This was a great ep. General Iroh is just as badass as his namesake. Only way he could be more of a boss would be if had dat blue fire. Naotok and his family’s backstory was sad. No wonder he and Tarrlok are the way they are. Yakone was a terrible father.
I really feel bad for Asami. Poor girl lost her man and her dad all in the span of one episode. If she went for a heel turn, it would be totally understandable. Korra finally stepped her Avatar game up and took it to Amon, as well as giving Spider-Lin back her powers. Thank you Bolin for being awesome. Don’t ever change, bro.[/details]
Bumi is awesome. Without uttering a single sentence, we already know how awesome he’s going to be. Good luck, Tenzin.
All in all, great way to wrap up this season. Can’t wait to see what’s in store for Korra in the future.

Fine, the Avatar finds away to get her bending back since it was only sealed through blood-bending. Everyone else, though, should have just kept their powers gone forever. Back to adult novels for me.
When the show was created it was originally supposed to only be 12 episodes, then I believe during the production process nick ordered 14 more. This episode does feel very much like a series finale as opposed to just a season finale, pretty much every questions been answered and shit. I hope this doesn’t mean the second season is gonna feel less inspired since it wasn’t planned.
Personally I expected this type of season finale the moment lin lost her bending so it was neither disappointing nor surprising. I was more surprised and impressed by the fact that they killed off amon and tarlok on screen. This is the same show that didn’t allow the main villain in the original to get killed off and instead invented a different kind of bending simply to avoid killing him. That was some pretty somber stuff there.
My only gripe is the whole makorra thing, I don’t think it could have been handled any worse. Made mako look like an inconsiderate asshole and made korra look like a home wrecker(seriously you managed to hurt 2 members of team avatar in one season, good shit girl). I just try to block it out since it deters from my overall enjoyment of what was otherwise a stellar season.
Lulz at calling out a bunch of 15 year olds having 15 year old romance problems. Korra a home wrecker. Lulz.
Bolin’s still my favorite character in the show.

Just watched the season finale. Almost everybody got their hype moments, with honorable mention to Asami vs Hiroshi via Mecha-Techs. Was not fucking expecting that at all. Would watch again. :lovin:
one thing i also disliked it how bloodbending still was able to be passed onto the next generation even after the avatar took it away, how was amon’s grand plan going to solve anything? the next generation would have just been bending anyways.
makes amon seem alot less threatening when hes sitting there talking about ending bending when he’s a product of something that says the complete opposite.
Someone is born with a fat nose; even if they have it surgically altered that doesn’t change the fact that their kids will more than likely have that same fat nose. There’s still always that possibility; Bumi isn’t a bender but whose to say one of Katara’s or Aang’s ancestors weren’t also.
Amon’s thing was more of a governmental thing; yea he’s taking ppl’s bending but of course babies will still be born bender. In his ideal future bending would be illegal.
bloodbending being able to “sever” ties to the elements sort of makes sense. advanced bloodbending could alter chakra paths and whatnot, though to be honest that is more speculation from me than anything.

no reason to get defensive. i’m just saying when you look back, amon’s entire coup seems kind of fruitless. he knows he can’t do anything long term, so all the moment about him ending airbending forever doesnt seem like its a well thought out threat.
and it has toi be somewhat genetic, because otherwise anyone could just be an airbender. it obviously needs to be passed down in some form or another.

Book two, RIGHT NOW! I need it in my life. Half through the last episode I felt like Ed Helms in the Hangover Part II “What the fuck is going on?!” but, I’m happy with the way things ended up. Pretty sure Amon survived and will come back blaming Korra for turning his brother against him and will have an army this time to take down republic city. Sooooo, anyone got a clue as to when we can expect book 2 to start airing? Really hope we don’t have to wait till spring.
