I bet if Ty Lee’s still around she could reverse it.
Forreal tho, Naga hit that nigga with the swiftness.
I also think General Iroh is Zuko’s grandson, dude looks early to mid 30s and Zuko only had a daughter, she has a son so of course the first name they give him is Iroh. Can’t wait to see him fuck some shit up.
I’m also surprised no one commented on Mako using lightning redirection. That was a pretty top tier skill in TLA with Iroh, Aang and Zuko the only ppl knowing how to do it. Are we to assume its not so top tier anymore the way lighting generation is so widely used or are we just seeing Mako’s actual skill start to surface?
maybe it iroh jr. dude was kind of buffed out at the end of the first series. i can imagine it was hard for the women to resist. i’m sure he was verile enough to have 10-12 childen.
all named iroh.
even the girls.
General Mustang the 2nd is about to kick shit off.
As a Catholic man, I don’t usually curse like this… but GOD DAYUM, Amon’s Lieutenant keeps getting jobbed a lot. How many does this make right now and after all these humiliating defeats, how can Amon still have him as his “Lieutenant?” Anybody can whirl a few sticks with a few practice, why are there only two for him?
You know what, someone should make a compilation video of him jobbing this entire series after his defeat or death.
Its still top tier. So far who else can do it this gen? Still harder to redirect it
But he didn’t generate the lightning. He was electrocuted then REDIRECTED it back at the mech, like Iroh in TLA when he redirected a lighting bolt from the sky that was gonna strike their ship. It was a high-level technique that Iroh created that would kill you if you made any wrong move in the process of doing it; he taught it to Zuko, who taught it to Aang.
So I was saying either its easy sauce the way lightning generation has become or someone who knew about it after the last 3 taught it to him.
Well we haven’t had the chance to see anyone else who might know it do it besides Mako
I don’t think you’re understanding what I’m saying.
Lightning (or taser) redirection (what he did in today’s episode) and lightning generation (what he does in that clip) are 2 ENTIRELY DIFFERENT techniques. Both Zuko and Aang could redirect lightning but neither of them could generate it.
Besides the fact that lightning generated from someone like Ozai is on a completely different level than a shock from a mech, Mako still redirected it. It requires a completely different bending knowledge and skill set from lightning generation.
yes, and metalbending required seismic sense to use. the techniques evolved to become easier as the years went on.
It didn’t REQUIRE seismic sense. It was just Toph’s seismic sense that discovered there was still trace pieces of earth that could be bent in metal.
She didn’t have to use it every time she wanted to metal bend. Besides all seismic sense was was a way for Toph to see since she was blind. It just happened to be so powerful that you could see things that weren’t readily visible with it.
Epic Meelo Ownage
[details=Spoiler]
I can only imagine how crazy an Level 3 X-Factor’ed Meelo would be. He be worse than Dark Phoenix and Wesker combined! lol[/details]
GOOD GOD THAT EPISODE! Tenzin, Lin, Korra, Bolin, Asami, Mako, Naga, Meelo, gaahhh everyone showed up.
On Lin
[details=Spoiler] Atleast LIn lost her bending like a boss G gangsta. Now I’m convinced more than ever that Amon’s “taking away people’s bending” is not permanent. I refuse to believe that Lin will just have no bending anymore.
I also think that Amon is not really energybending at all, I think there is just a pressure point on the forehead that locks all your chi/chakra away. Amon is just the best chi-blocker, and not an energybender. Someone(maybe old Ty Lee) will teach Korra(or someone) on how to unblock the locked chi spot, much simpler than teaching Korra to energybend/
[/details]
I was on kinda sympathetic to Amon before, as he reminds me of Magneto, but after what he did? I just want to see his ass wooohooopped.
i meant it required seismic sense in that she needed it to figure out it was possible haha. at any point, the whole metalbending school made the process more streamlined for other people.
As much as we want to see General Iroh fuck shit up, is it not too farfetched to think that Amon have forseen the military being mobilized and have prepared countermeasures for their arrival?
And since The Promise comic books are being released with accordance to the Korra series, I hope the third and last volume shows how the United Forces came to be.
Also, has anyone considered the pure concentrated terror that Spider-Rats must be?
I think that Spider-Bats would be far far worse. Ballooning spiders are creepy enough, now imagine that, but big and with controlled flight!
Well yea of course, same as how lightning generation is used for more widely for the use of powering the city. I wouldn’t put lightning redirection in the same categories as those techniques though.
It isn’t as practical (unless you expect someone to be shooting lightning at you on a daily basis) nor is it any less of an extremely high-risk technique. I doubt they have waterbending classes for ppl just to learn the technique of lightning redirection.
I’m thinking General Iroh will fuck shit up even if Amon knows about him and his forces coming. I’m calling it right now, Amon’s attempt at taking Korra’s bending is gonna unlock Avatar state. OR at the very least Korra and Iroh are gonna pull some Harlem Heat shenanigans against Amon.
Why did zuko just start redirecting lightning now…he’s been getting electrocuted for the past 9 episodes.
Also why are all the chi-blockers all of a sudden nerfed to being goons. Even asami(who had “self-defense” lessons) was kicking their ass. They got nerfed real bad this episode. Even Amon’s right hand just got bitch-slapped by Naga. Apparently they’re not a threat anymore.
Also it sucks that every top-tier bender in this show so far are so free to ropes. They could all be kicking ass, until someone throws a rope at them and they get tied up and lose.
It’s kinda weird that the United Forces is coming just on warships when the equalists have airships. So unless The United Forces are bringing in some anti-equalist tech, I’m not too confident with them. I still bank on korra avatar state to save the day.
This talk about how the drama is lame is itself lame. I don’t want a show that’s just fight scenes; there’s Dragon Ball for that, and even there I wanted more compelling character moments.
Anywho great ep. Great building of tension on multiple fronts, including the drama. Can’t wait for next weekend.
