Avatar: The Legend of Korra - Book 4

Please no more tobi/madara space time warp sharingan bs. Ive seen enough of that for my whole life time.

If Korra isn’t the avatar, then the Order of the White Lotus suck at their jobs. Talk about not doing your due diligence.

monk 1: "you gave her the past lives test, right?"
monk 2: "uh, no, I thought you gave her the test."
monk 1: "fuck. well, 3 out of 4 elements is good enough. Aang is dead, so she’s probably the Avatar."
monk 2: ā€œwait, Aang has to be dead? Shit.ā€

well, if you think about it, aang was given the test when he was a baby when they found out the avatar died.

if you are the water tribe, and you KNOW the avatar died, they would have given all newborne babies within that time frame the test. korra was beyond old enough, walking and talking when they found her. because she was that old, the test might have been useless (as opposed to a blank slate baby choosing the items).

maybe they didn’t do the test to the water tribe babies. why?

they didn’t know if the avatar was dead. maybe he had gone missing. and they used korras existence to justify him being dead. they looked at her and thought ā€œwell, she’s obviously the avatar, that must mean aang is deadā€. otherwise she would have gotten the test as a baby and they would have ruled her out as being the avatar or known she was the avatar long before they found out.

i think that should cover that.

to

  • all this time everytime was fooled that Aang was not really dead.

while I appreciate the creativity of your theories, it’s sounds way too off-base and random.

Just something I’ve been thinking about for a little bit, but could Amon be related to the Kyoshi Warriors(dead mom?)? That would explain his chi-blocking skills and give him enough of a connection to past plot threads so that if he is some random guy his identity reveal wouldn’t be a major disappointment. Unless Ty Lee saying that she would teach the Kyoshi Warriors her moves as a member was just a throwaway line.

of course i need to make up some of it for it to fit. but in terms of any other theory, its going to be made up. its a scripted show. but i’ve turned away almost any definitive proof that its wrong. makes it alot less ā€œrandomā€ when i can at least cast doubt on everything brought up against it.

i’m just defending the guy in this exchange:

which sacr3Ds response is dumb. because you keep thinking that its a real life thing with a world that reacts to things the same way as you or i would. its scripted, anything is possible. that is why when you just discount things like ā€œit doesn’t work that way, it needs to play by the rulesā€ a writer takes that mentality and doesn’t break the rules, but learns to stretch them and disguise them. they drop hints, like the idea that benders are getting badder and more powerful, breaking the rules that you thought you know. they do that for a reason. someone gone missing, assumed dead and then shows up out of nowhere? tell me that you haven’t seen that one done before…

you cannot say ā€œthis is an impossibilityā€ when talking about a fictional show about magic. i don’t even really believe in my theory, but why the fuck could it not happen? because it wrecks the fragile fictional world that you thought you knew? that is what writers do, and you’re thinking about joe schumck conspiracy theorist about people not noticing aang might not be dead and that amon might be XXXX character, i’m just thinking why couldn’t it be aang? why shit on this guy’s theory? you have no proof against it, but people were quick to pile on and write it off.

anything is possible. that’s why its fiction. not only did i create a story that covers my points of view, i’ve defended it properly because it fits within the story, and can still write in events that cover issues that people have against it. the writers are only bound to the rules that writers abide by. you cannot discount any theory when it comes to writing, especially when you don’t have anything to DISPROVE it.

first episode when katara says she has seen most of her friends and aang pass away? lol

Yea KAtara saying her husband is dead is pretty damn good proof.

Eh Aang is dead, there’s nothing for the authors to be flexible with. The avatar’s spirit is reincarnated into a new body, for reincarnation to take place someone has to die.

she says ā€œaang’s time has passed. my brother and many of my friends are goneā€. doesn’t sound so definitive, does it? seems cautiously open, to me.

No, your just twisting it work for you. It’s obvious what she means.

maybe. but it doesn’t disprove my story at all. if the whole world assumes aang is dead, then so would katara. obviously a big part of my story revolves around that. if there isn’t definite proof that she was there when he died, you cannot rule out that he isn’t dead. is it probably the best argument so far? yeah.

and once again, it wouldn’t be the first time a story like that happened.

Loved ā€œThe Last Airbenderā€. How is Legend of Korra? Recommended?

in what instance could he ā€œdieā€ with katara being unaware? KIA?

@Hurtabro: if you liked the original, you will like this one.

Hurtabro - Really really good.

Also I love people discounting other people’s opinions. It’s like this one argument… How do you kill a vampire? Stake through the heart? Garlic? Sunlight? No… you can kill a vampire HOWEVER YOU WANT! They’re not real! You can make up any rules along the way.

Same with this bending universe. I wouldn’t be surprised if they pulled out more random stuff out of the blue.

like when people thought aang was dead when he got lightning zapped, but got brought back to life by katara? he has technically died before. and come back.

then there was the whole incident when he ran away… the whole premise leading into the first series.

this part of the storyline i’m pitching isn’t even new to the avatar series.

edit: the best theory i heard before mine (^_^) is that when avatar died and got brought back that part of his avatar power was in the process of being passed to the next generation but when he was revived, it was only partially transferred to its new host. i like that theory alot. its a good ruffle that goes beyond your core story and system and keeps it interesting and would explain a few things.

Has anybody here read ā€œThe Promiseā€ graphic novels by Dark Horse? It’s set a year after the first series and 2 out of 3 volumes have been released so far with the final one releasing this September. Anyway it’s really a good read, with the story having a darker and series tone than the first series with Zuko’s starting to encounter the turmoils that come with being a ruler such as choosing between peace with the whole world at the expense of his people’s livelihood.

highly. its far more action oriented and less physiological but its still has the avatar flavor.

Oh I know, Amon and Korra are really twins from alternate dimensions where Amon is the male version of Korra, but both of them are really Aang who was soul bended into two pieces and now Korra and Amon are like Psuedo Avatars where Amon is the Spiritual side and Korra is the Physical and like Amon sucks the spirit out of benders leaving only the phyiscal part…

Subt-L says this is possible. Goku should pop up anytime soon as well. I mean, anything can happen right? They don’t have to follow the rules that they’ve established themselves right?
