Avatar: The Legend of Korra - Book 4

We need to find out the truth about Amon’s history. Getting screwed over by a firebender like everyone and Asami’s mother in this story does not equate to making you as ultra-hax as you are, Equalist Leader. Also, wasn’t this supposed to be a two cour miniseries, with 12 eps in the first run and 14 in the second? We’ve just finished ep 9 and now we get to the final battle.

@Lemres
Katara was probably at the same place she is now: running the South Pole. We see key players(Aang, Toph, Sokka) running Republic City, but not all, since it’s just one part of their plans to rebuild the world after the war. There has to be leaders in key places, and while Zuko runs the Fire Nation and the Earth Federation and Northern Water Tribe is probably covered, the Southern Water Tribe needed a major remake as it had no infrastructure like the North and NO waterbenders. Katara can help with both needs.

That makes sense. She probably also had Tenzin and his siblings at that time too.

Don’t worry, it won’t be the ‘final’ battle between Korra and Amon… watching the preview for next week shows Amon getting the upper hand and possibly taking Korra’s bending. Won’t know until two weeks, however.

Back to this weeks ep: Amon is that ninja. Straight up owned Tarlock like the true boss that he is. Bending, blood or otherwise, don’t mean shit to this guy.
Benders are gonna have to step their game up to take out Amon. Yakone seemed pretty cold too, handling the gaang like that while in handcuffs… Too beast. Forced Aang to have to snatch his bending.

Love where the show is going so far. Between Korra, Young Justice, and what remains of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes I’m getting my animation fix quite nicely.

It comes on at 10 AM Central and if you have nick west you can watch it later at 1 PM Central. Nick usually puts the episode online a few days after they air.

Who here has ever fap’ed to anime…I know a lot of us don’t like to talk about it but is it really that wierd

also it was good to see sokka, while more mature, is still a dork that we love. “i fought many people with special powers, i even took down a guy that could shoot fireballs from his forehead with my trusty boomrang.”

There’s also the fact that fire and earthbending are more combat-suited, well imo, though water and air are just as good.

Spoiler

As stupid as this sounds, I say Amon is Aang, but then again, he’s dead as far as we know. I’m just going by the fact that he took away the guy’s bending.

I CALLED IT!

Spoiler

I knew Amon had a counter.

Fuck that, like the episode said, I’m calling him The Solution™ now.

Damn though that scene with Aang was a bit brutal.

It was awesome to see Aang being a badass one last time.

Chills when the remixed avatar theme music started playing as he burst through the door.

Amon is a badass. That man just walked up to Tarlock when he tried to bloodbend him.

Amon is such a fucking troll. If you guys saw the preview he drew over Aang’s statue to his own image! Problem Avatar? /trollface

Amon is pretty bad ass but it seems to me if Korra would play the range game and just blast him with all 4 elements in Ultimate Death Beam much like Aang did to Ozai… what is there to stop her from doing that in the finale? Amon is essentially super broken when it comes to close quarters but if Korra can just range him out, it would be like Haggar trying to get in on Astral Vision Morrigan with Hidden Missile assist.

(I forgot to mention that adult Toph looked less weird [read: not as young] moving about than previous flashbacks made her seem because of having the same hairdo.)

Was the mask drawn on? I guess it could been a poster, but I honestly though it was just a giant mask affixed to the actual giant statue of Aang, which made it all the more humorous.

The fact that she probably can’t get into the Avatar state still, considering she hasn’t been able to do it and she just basically got into “contact” with Aang in this episode after being a “spiritual failure” all her life.

Also doesn’t really help that Airbending is the best at fighting from long distance and she still can’t even use that it seems. That and, despite how broken he seems to be, Amon has literally never fought alone so far or, at least, hasn’t appeared without back-up.

Against Korra he always had his cronies. But when he faced Tarrloc, his cronies didn’t do crap except writhe in pain while Amon went in there and Raging Demon his bending away. But yeah I believe that once Korra finally attains Air Bending, she will be able to trump Amon unless Amon has something else under his sleeve. Hell he was nearly immune to freaking BLOOD BENDING. Aside from being the Avatar or a badass Water Bender [Katara], that is pretty impressive. Especially considering that his Blood Bending can be used without the moon.

Hit me up with a link that streams the new ep guys! Life and obligations. prevented me from watching it live on my TV again. :frowning:

EDIT: Twitter’s search engine is your best friend. :lovin:

Toph looked good for 38/39.

Oh man I loved Sokka’s reference to Sparky Sparky Boom Man to back up his argument for Yakone’s prosecution.

And poor Asami. :frowning:

Lin pulling up Bolin’s zipper with her metalbending was… ROFL!!!

I think kataara was the prosecutor although I could be mistaken. Not a bad episode, but I was a lil disappointed in the flashback because… well… it didn’t really tell us anything. I was hoping it would explain why yakone and subsequently tarlok can blood bend without a full moon but there only explanation was “he’s the son of the dude who can do it so yea”. Not a big deal, fun episode none the less, was nice seeing the old gang(sans zuko) all grown up. Wonder where next weeks episode is gonna take things, Im just hoping they have a good explanation for why amon is such a badass.

Glad to hear the finale is gonna be a one hour event, I hate when they half the finales.

^ But they did explain why Yakone and Tarrlok can bloodbend at any time. That’s why Sokka mentioned Combustion Man. Some people just have rare bending abilities. Yakone and Tarrlok are the water versions of Combustion Man. Their abilities just far exceed those of other bloodbenders. It’s a simple explanation and makes sense.

hmm…

Spoiler

Maybe a zombie/cyborg Aang?

Its kinda sad to hear this season is ending so soon. I guess that means we’re close to halfway finished with this awesome series.
