well pure precious metals (silv, gold, plat) are great conductors and fairly easy to manipulate with heat applied. I think the super bending bros could tag team a few mechs in a few secs.

As far as normal fights go isn’t water bending the strongest due to blood bending? If Korra learned that and was willing to sue it I guess there would be no show then:rofl:
I’d say Airbending is the strongest because you can’t bend if you can’t breathe. Also, Bloodbending only works during a full moon 
Air Bending is probably the best antipersonnel form but honestly it shouldn’t be too effective against machines or other engines of war.
I’m sure it takes some time to suck out the air in a person’s body and people can bend while holding their breathe at least for a minute or two but blood bending is instant death lol, forgot it only works during full moon LAME.
Why suck the air out, when you can just send more air in? explode the lungs.
Actually if you put someone under a vacuum the air would be wrenched pretty much instantaneously from their body. The reason your lungs expand when you breathe in is that the fact they are increasing in volume creates a low pressure region where the air flows to. This brings everything to equilibrium so that your lungs are the same pressure as everything around you. If the pressure outside your body however is lower than that in your body the air moves the other way. How fast this happens is determined by how different the pressure difference is.
You might be thinking of something like how mixing gases is relatively slow. Might take a few seconds to several minutes to reach equilibrium. Diffusion, however, is an entropic effect. It’s typically much slower than a gas moving to correct a pressure differential.
In an air plane when this happens people typically go unconscious in seconds. If the pressure was low enough you’d probably bleed out your eyes and a lot of other very gross things that wouldn’t be fit for a children’s show.

Going down this road what is “earth”? Rock is typically some type of ceramic material (metal oxide) but farming earth is generally mostly organic material. If your in oklahoma the earth has copious amounts of Iron oxide (rust) in the soil making it red. Damn you chemistry! Ruining my imagination.

Ramble time:
Changing the state of water involves addition or removal of HEAT. Firebenders should be able to freeze/melt/gassify water, not waterbenders.
Earthbenders should have control over magnetic fields. Yes, I’m suggesting Toph should be Magneto.
Energybending is probably a subset/superset of firebending, given what firebending is (what Zuko/Aang discover). IF this one is actually show-canon, the theory of Amon being a firebender is suddenly most credible.

Also doesn’t aang seal bending by sealing your 5th chakra or whatever the one in your forehead is called. Thought that’s why he touched it. In theory if anyone had the ability to do the same thing they could do it. Just big old sea turtle touched Aang’s and showed him the way. The ability isn’t at all nested in any of the abilities that are solely the avatars.
The problem with the air bending vacuum theory is that it should take a super powerful air bender to be able to do that. That’s like saying water benders can blood bend whenever (before they said full moon only), or that a fire bender can just melt you from the inside out.

Also, on the subject of bending as a killing tool, it really is limited only by the PG rating and need for characters to have some moral integrity.
Anything from pressurized Air/Water bullets, to instantaneous combustion should be possible at master level. Like, Tenzin level.
Firebenders CAN melt or freeze water through heat control. Sozin is a canon example of a firebender being able to extract/redirect heat; cooling down lava to become stone.
Waterbenders turn water to ice by slowing down the momentum of water molecules. A waterbender manipulates the substance itself, a firebender manipulates the heat; two ways of obtaining the same result.
One thing I could never get is how firebenders just shoot out flames without something to use as fuel. They might have explained that already though.
