Avatar: The Legend of Korra - Book 4

I’m pretty sure he said “Not my cabbages!!!” but yeah i’m surprised nobody else enjoyed that as much as me. It was even more great because i didn’t pay attention to anything about cabbage corp and was like “who cares about this?” until he said that.

It was just great because i loved cabbage man so I marked out hard for that. That was the wink at hardcore fans I love seeing in shows that most people miss.

I thought Cabbage Corp was hilarious. In jokes are the best thing.

Cabbage man bloodline will always be forever tormented in some way, shape, or form. XD

I think Asami is apart of the Equalists. They set the whole thing up so Amon could have a spy on Airbender island so he can know Korra’s progress so he knows when to strike against her and the benders once and for all.

Plus…that’s the only way I can see Mako and Korra ending up being together. The avatar guys have always done a good job when it comes to building relationships outside of the norm. So I expect no different with Mako and Korra.

Yes because having the main character and the first guy she sees fall in love forever and ever is definitely not a common literary trope

I thought about the whole Asami “going dark” scenario to propel Korra’s destiny to reach the Avatar State or whatever, but I’ve never seen the show written with that kind of “smarts” before.

Yeah, but that part is the only cliche part. They’ve always done great jobs on building the relationships in the Avatar universe.

I was thinking the same except I could see Asami going over to the Equalists once Mako breaks up with her.

Actually the whole thing is pretty fucking cliche

The reason they do a great job of building relationships is because you are not on the writing team

Yea hopefully they subvert the standard romance cliche by having her not end up with Mako at all.

She’s dumb for not seeing Bolin anyway. He’s way better then Mako lol.

Bolin and Pabu (damn I love that ferret) get me cracking up. Pabu absolutely destroys Momo in the cute animal looks. Probably almost beats FooFoocuddlypoops(sabertooth moose lion cub). Not quite sure though.

This show feels like they were inspired by DC comics and Marvel with Lin doin’ pretty much all the sick stuff the heros be doin.

Also kinda sad that I just am now realizing there was never an old man airbender in the last series so I guess Tenzin is gonna have to show more sick shit later on. I’m a lil too hype right now. Watched the latest episode like 5 times in a row. Is it goin’ on its hiatus this week? Fuck me if it is.

big file, but pretty cool if you’ve ever done storyboarding.

Bolin looks to be my favorite so far. I love earth Bending for starters. 2 he’s himself all the time. No frontin. He’s hilarious, and he plays off his pet sidekick extremely well. I hope he gets to be bad ass at some point.

So hard to say he’s my favorite at the moment since everyone has been so solid. Lins Earth Bending is beast. Just like Toph she doesn’t fuck around.

And Tenzin is just too much in everything he does. When he’s funny he’s hilarious, when hes serious, he’s serious, and when he gets down to brass tax he whoops ass.

Yeah, Tenzin is pretty much exactly what I imagined Aang would be like if we got to see him as a fully realized adult. He’s still got his boyhood goofiness, but its measured against his adult responsibilities. I’m hoping Mako and Bolin get to do some actual ass whoopin at some point. Watching them pro bend just isn’t enough…

I’ve actually been going through the first series over the last few days and tbh Bolin looks like a poor man’s Sokka. Sokka brought the jokes every episode, Bolin’s jokes are like…its just not happening.

Canon

Episode 7 is pretty good. I am a little bummed that Tenzin isn’t more of a G though. I was hoping he’d rock shit like no other.

In theory airbending should pretty much rock every bending. Vacuum / Pressurize shit into oblivion. Go darth vader on bitches and choke them out by lowering the air pressure around their heads. I’d also like to see an air bender take down a blimp.

Writers got a hard on though for making air bending being weak and playful for some reason. Tenzin though kinda hasn’t had to do any real fighting has he? I mean what has he done other than be Aang’s airbending child?

As a chemical engineer the “pure” metal thing kinda threw me for a loop. I mean … only thing that makes one metal more “pure” than others is how it’s prepared. Nowadays making anything 99.9999% pure is possible if you got the time and money. Platinum, lol.

Beating Mechs:

Fire -> Just make it really really hot. If it has air tanks so they are isolated from the enviro aim for those. You also only have to get hot enough to melt the glass which is like 700-800F which should be easily doable since coal fires can burn hotter than that. But who knows if they are made of PLATINUM, maybe the windows are fucking diamond. I mean what’s a few hundred million more.

Earth -> QuickSand it. Trip up the treads with jagged earth. Treads / Tanks aren’t good on mountainous terrain.
Air ->Vacuum it. A vacuum can crush a half inch steel drum with ease. steel >>> platinum. Air tanks are really thick steel for a reason.
Water->Ice something probably. Aim for the glass than flood them.

The air benders have a whole belief system that limits what they can do with their bending. It is against they’re… not sure if religion or just philosophy to do any serious harm to a living being. So that limits what they can do a great deal.

As for your complaints about the mechs… Well this is supposed to be the 1920’s, technology is only just starting to advance. All the ways to beat it are totally valid though and so I guess the mechs are pretty much bull shit??? Shrug.

Since Platinum is used in its natural state, shouldn’t it be susceptible to earthbending?

Bah, this show makes no sense. Freezing/thawing water is a FIREBENDING skill, or at least it should be.
