3rd Season did wrap everything up. This is an entirely new story, taking place 80 years after the events of the first series. All of the original main cast have died with the exception of Katara, who taught the new avatar (who is the current main character) how to water bend.
It’s really fucking awesome and you need to watch it immediately.
So do you think people have improved bending in Korra’s time, or were they better during Aang’s time? I’d say Aang’s time, but it’s weird seeing so many people metal and lightning bend.
i think that there are more people who know techniques that were only used by elites now, but on Aang time they were more developed due the war and being a more spiritual society than the current one
I think of it like the real world industrial revolution, pre-industrial era many things were too difficult to do for the average person but the industrial revolution stream lined the process so that any idiot could make textiles. Same thing here with bending. There may be more advanced benders now but the number of true masters has dwindled.
All we’ve seen is the Avatar compound at the south pole and the Republic City. Who knows what the rest of the world is like. i wonder if we’ll get to see Ba sing Se.
i would want to know, btw, what happened to the sun tribe and the 2 “masters”, or if there are people who knows how to deflect a lightning, or blood bending
Well it seems like you two haven’t seen the third episode. Lightning is known by many fire benders as Mako was seen bending lightning for a power plant with other fire benders.
And while there might be some practical medicinal applications to blood bending I doubt that Katara would ever teach it to anyone.
Lightning was a common yet difficult technique in the first season. Redirecting lightning was a fairly new technique that Iroh discovered by learning the practices of water benders and applying it to his fire bending. By the end of the first season the only people who could do it were Iroh, Zukko, and Aang.
on the 1st show we only see the royal family (except Zukko) doing lightnings, so it wouldnt be to hard to asume that only a few selected were teached how to do it
Yeah, it was definitely a master class technique (see my previous post on how so many people can do it now). It was so powerful because it was unblockable, that is until Iroh figured out how to do it.
Maybe that whole thing with Aang dying in the avatar state caused Korra to have trouble learning Airbending. She probably has to go to the Spirit world and get advice from Aang to reconnect the Avatar spirit with Airbending. Just some thoughts…
Oh man, you guys need to look up “Asami” on Tumblr right now. It’s a fucking riot, let me tell you. So many shippers having their hearts ripped right out because Little Miss Hot As Fuck is moving in on what the fandom has already dubbed “Korra’s Man”.
Dat hair flip man dat fucking hair flip
All the while you kinda have to feel sorry for Bolin.
I think that kind of hotness overload would give me a heart attack.
But alas, after What Was Missing we’re probably not going to be seeing even the slightest hint of the implication of lesbians in an American cartoon for at least another decade.
