I’m loving this new series. I love how Korra has a mix of Katara and Sokka in her personality and I love the student-teacher relationship with Tenzin. I can actually see Aang in Tenzin’s personality as well. I love the brothers too but I hope Mako isn’t as serious as Zuko was. I doubt he will though. He seems to have more fun than Zuko did. I feel that this will be a very successful continuation of The Last Airbender. I have faith in the writers. They never disappointed me in the original series at all.

When the series ACTUALLY premiers in April, that’s when.
That’s very upsetting.
Surely they don’t expect us to wait any longer.

Caught the two episodes of the new series before they were taken down. AWESOME.
I dig Korra, she kind of reminds me of Toph in the sense that’s she’s focused on ass-whooping and being a hardass. I expect her to break down eventually just like everyone did in the first series (which I had to rewatch just to remember why I loved it so much).
Can’t wait to see what’s else happens, especially inevitable flashbacks of older Aang and the gang. Can’t help but think that the main villain and the whole anti-bending revolution has something to do with Aang taking away the fire lords bending at the end of the first series, but that’s just me.
Lastly, fuuuuck, the animation is so good. It’s so refreshing to see REAL action sequences in American cartoons. I can’t stress enough how awesome the first series was to my anime-lover friends. It’s really hard to convince them it’s not really a kid only show. It’s like a kid show written and animated for adults.
Lessen Thomas from the boondocks show is doing storyboards, he’s huge on cool action sequences so I can’t wait to see some of the more climactic action scenes eventually.

I just finished watching the 1st series tonight finally and damn…shit was amazing. It was already in my top 10’ favorite shows of all time but after the ending I feel like it’s moved up to my top 5. Every resolution and possible story dynamic and characterization i could have wanted for it’s finale was met, and to top it off the last few episodes have some of the best animation of the entire series.
It’s a tall order to follow and while I’ve heard great things about the new series i admit I’ll be watching it with some extremely high expectations. It has a lot of fronts it needs to deliver on so hopefully the new series becomes every bit as classic and amazing as the 1st…and yes I’ll admit getting slightly blue knowing the 1st series will never have anymore seasons lol.
