Ok…this took me more time to do than any avatar has ever done before…including Popeye-Shippu. The amount of time needed to edit the ugly-looking Peach sprites, as well as animating a dress-stripping motion was ludicrous. This is probably my best work to date, though. Also, almost 120 frames, muthafux! Whooooooo!

Oh man…is that fucking funny, or what? If it wasn’t for the text behind Ash & Kensou, it’d be a 10/10. But the fact that I can’t read what it says kinda irks me. Watching Kensou spasm with extasy as he watches the Athena bots scroll by was priceless. Ash also makes a very good Madam. How did you fit in all that animation and still have that deep of a pallette, OC? jealous

Woulda been a 9, but come one, Nas, there’s a spelling error! It should be “You’re”, not “Your”. A Pretty funny idea, but why are they fighting over a transvestite? The use of transsparency is awesome. For some reason, on my home comp this animates too fast (it looks fine at school, though). Maybe it’s cuz I’m on a Mac, or maybe my version of safari doesn’t work well with some types of animated gifs?

All the outlines, recoloring, and of course tons of edits (I’ve never drawn so many dressesyeesh!) I did by hand. I figured I’d stick with my biggest strength (read: something very few others do so I can’t be outdone) which is sprite edits. That animation for the dress popping off is one of my proudest accomplishments as an animatorway harder than animated pre-made stock sprites! Also, I’m glad someone recognized the CvS2 training stage, even tho I recolored it from blue to green (and heavily edited it for colors).

I just wanted to explain mine… the animation during the ipod theme was meant to be crappy. Wanted to show that color is better. i think only quiche got that.
Even still, everyone of those tops mine… i love the mission: unusual. That’s focking god-tier. Same with Gone with the wind hahah.

in my defense I was making the avatar according to non-premium size specs cause I figured people would boo the ipod theme, ^^ and I was right. So at least I can use my own av now since I didn’t win a premium membership!! LOL! ha, I cheated the system by losing!!

i had a good time with this. Thanks for the limted props on my av. since i have no use for it, it’s up for grabs.
i’m quite happy with how it turned out. i used zangiefs vs game blue flame sprite for the fart. i had to chop and change blankas face to get his confused face onto the hopping sprite. moving the nostrils and then making the eyes blinks and that was it!
took me a while but it’s been about a year since i made an av (except for my current one which took 2 minutes) so it was good to refresh my knowledge.

Kinda ironic that an animator chose a static av to be considered #1. But I love it. For me balance with space and colour tops everything else in regards to design and this av does it. The font is pleasing, the colours fantastic, and the position of Maki is perfect. This is the perfect av for this contest.

I think rather than talk about how good it is (I will get to that later), I might as well say why I didn’t consider this one the best. Main Gripe would be the text which of course kinda falls into my stickiness for composition and balance. The off centeredness and lack of equality kinda irked me. Had the text lines been closer to each other vertically I’d think it would have been better. I should also mention the small glitch was that "Your Mission: flashed out for the shin part then flashes back in for the rest of the shoryuken.
Secondly I like animated avs, but what I like about them is using the entire space. Most of it was regulated to the right of the scene which once again kinda gives it an off-balance. It seems a bit plain because of this.
But what is good about is that the animation is top notch. I don’t particularly subscribe to doing sprite edits because for 1) it takes time, 2) I’m lazy, 3) I’d rather use the sprites in my own fashion than work the sprites to my advantage. Most sprite edits suck shit really, but for the nude Peach and dress falling off it’s Grade A material. I could basically compare it to VSlash’s ability to edit sprites to look like they were very natural/intended to be like that.
Secondly I notice that quiche has a great talent for keeping animations very clean. Nothing muddied. Whereas I often use BGs that might throw off the scene because the characters almost blend into the BG (as in my Pleasure bot av), Quiche’s is very clean and very precise which gives a good eye to focus on where the animation is. The timing of course is very good as well with the ShinShoryuken. The flame out and the start up is awesome. Yer making me jealous.

I like simplicity as well. This one stood out because it has the same compositional material that I love, but somehow it doesn’t come altogether than perfectly. There is stuff going on, but almost too much stuff. There’s a lack of focus or flow to the whole thing. However I do love the inegration of <3 text and just the text in general. Had another character with a similar colour pallette or chaning Chun’s pallette, it might have brought the thing better together.

A good beginning, however once again the colour of the BG doesn’t quite suit the sprite. The font although it might look good elsewhere doesn’t seem to bring the thing together, but it’s position is very good.

Being Standard DG stuff, it’s good idea. Love the use of frames and the placement of the text. Very tongue in cheek.

One of the main problems with using 3S sprites is that they are very fluidly animated, yet at the same time they eat up space like nobody’s business. I have a few avs that have never seen the light of day because the 3S sprites are just eating up the av space. The av is very well animated, but because that we think that 3S is like this fluidly animated thing sometimes when we see avs in play it doesn’t look as fluid. Text is not evenly spaced with some of the letters and the end font was good.

Once again another colour problem. This time it’s problematic due to the BG looking a bit too similar to the Shoryuken Lightening fist. The arm sort of disappears instead of showing up. The girl is hot adding a good contrast with her bikini top to the BG. I think that compliments it very well. The joystick and button is good but I can’t think of any way to make them better. Had the faint line going down the middle been removed I’d think the avatar would have looked better dramatically.

Well I don’t like fart jokes really, so it’s a bias. I like the BG and the use of characters though, it works very well together. One small glitch is when Blanka pauses and blinks, the fumes stop moving.

I love parodies as much as everyone else, but of course these ones are pretty terrible. Well that’s a lie, iFist I love that they added the white to the guitar which makes for a good balance. The wires are very smooth. The Hugo one, well the text is just not working. Although funny I don’t see them as good parodies.

Pleasure Bot
This was basically an idea that I did a the last minute as quiche could probably attest. I thought originally of Kensou’s biting his teeth animation, as well Ash Crimson animation when I did an iPod av for someone. Originally I wanted to have them walk and talk going down like a gallery of samples of breasts in a tech like fashion. I also wanted to include Shermie and Angel into the mix but once again size limitaitons.
I didn’t quite like the end of it all, I actaully wanted them to walk over to find an “SvC Athena” model, complete in bikini in a MMX statsis pod (ala Dr. Light upgrade pods). It was then I wanted the liquid to drain, her to come alive and then pan over to Kensou already in the process of removing his pants/jacking off. Of course then I would use the “pants” thing.
One glitch that someone probably didn’t notice (or didn’t mention it) was when both occasions Kensou said “No” to the two models, the models’ names disappear for a second or so. As for fitting all that stuff in there, well I went for the 8-Bit simple BG to save on space. It also helped that Kensou was blue as well with the BG. I admit it’s not as funny as I’m used to considering that it’s SNK, there’s a new character in there and it’s just not very well thought out. I was strapped for time as well with the problem with working with the material.
