Ok! here are the entries for the 2nd avatar battle challenge!

But first, a few things:

First off, I just want to say that I’m extatic with the way this one is going. We got a lot more entries, and they’re all really, really good. You guys went all out, and I really appreciate it. This is a proud day for IMM. Personally, I want to thank everyone who entered. You all did a great job![/mushiness]

Info on why all the avatars seem to have asses in them and other details can be found HERE.

#1: No one discusses the avs until ALL FIVE judges have passed judgement. This is to prevent people from giving away who the artists are. This is not limited to the artists. Even if you did not submit an av, please refrain from commenting until after the judges have voted. The judges do not know who has submitted an av, and I don’t want you giving away to them that you DIDN’T submit an av by starting to comment on them.

#2: Judges: you are to pick your favorite 3 based on whatever criteria you want…one way to do it is using the guidelines I provided to shatterstar:

You will then order them from 1 to 3. Your #1 pick gets 3 points, your #2 pick gets 2 points, and your #3 pick gets 1 point. The points will be tallied, and a winner declared.

Judges can feel free to discuss among themselves any aspects of the avatars they like. They may confer with each other before voting, but do not have to. Feel free to discuss what you like or dislike about any of the avatars --1 Restriction, tho! Judges may not speculate as to who the artists are, as your speculations may affect the other judges.

#3: After the judges vote, the points will be tallied and I will reveal the artists behind the avatars. Discussion is then open for anyone and anything about the avatars.

Way cool and very imaginative. Stripping Peach was very funny. I like it, very memorable.

#2: Pleasure Bot

Kensou always cracks me up. And I could see him doing this.

#3: Awww, Baby!

It was a hard choice between this and Angel. I do like them both, but I think the Chun gets the slight edge.

I dunno. I’m bad at justifying my picks today. But there they are.

Even though the ones making fun of OC get +1 point, they’re not very good/impressive. I’m sick of the damn iPod things, and making a lame attempt at one :tdown:

Yeah, thumbs down for geoshitties. Bandwith is already burnt. I can see them except for the three I voted for. I’d host them myself, but then you couldn’t see the other three, which would be wrong.

Wow, these are all really good entries. I’ll have to cast my vote later when I’ve had time to review them.

Damn this was a hard choice, I seriously spent about 15 minutes looking at all of them deciding which top 3 I thought were the best. They are all so good though…

However out of all of them I liked these three the most.

#1 Rejected.

The image of Urien stuffing Seans Shot is burned in my head and I cant stop laughing at it. It had all the requirements as well like the Shoyucannon and Poison’s Sexy Man ass :lol:

#2 Angel of SRK
The Pose that angel is and the way that she fits in with the backround is just beautiful. I also like the Font he used/made for the “SRK” lettering. The Maki and Chun are also very well made but this one just seems a little nicer.

#3 Misson Unusual
I always love when a non-Fighitng game Character is doing Street Fighter moves (like when Popeye was doing Shippu.) And the way this one was animated works out so perfectly. The backround fits well with the Misson Impossinble theme he has going on as well. It looks like a lot of work was put into this one. After the contest is over I would like to hear what he did for the Peach Animations. Did he find them somewhere or were they all done by hand.

#3 was the hardest for me to choose because Mission and Pleasure bot were just so damn good. The facial expressions on Kensou were just hilarious.

Good Job to all the contestants. I would rock the hell out of all these AV’s They are just that good.

Edit - LOL Quiche, I didnt know you were Sol Goodguy. About a week ago after looking at some random Sol av I was thinking, “Whatever happened to that Sol Goodguy, He was funny as hell.” Little did I know, Little did I know…

I wasn’t sure if you wanted us to post our comments or not. Just making sure. Well, here goes:

  1. Awww, Baby!
    This piece is wonderful. Nice use of space and angles. Very nice use of colors. It fits together well, it’s not too cluttered, and it’s very smooth and clean. The animation is very fitting and very slick. Draws attention to the av nicely. The only nitpicks I have for this is with the character sprite and the sparkle effects. The character sprite could have been leveled so her foot was at the base of the av (so she appears to be standing in it). The blue glow from her hands could have been cut and re-done or at least added more to it and blended. The sparklies are all the same, just different sizes, and one of them is covering her forhead (which is annoying). The text is also unreadable, which isn’t that big of a deal, but still kind of disappointing to see text and not be able to read it. It was a really hard choice between this and Angel Of SRK.

  2. Angel Of SRK
    The background for this is great. The character art was also resized and clipped very nicely. However, the font is a little plain, and the character art doesn’t really pop from the background. There’s a ton of depth in the background, yet very little depth in the foreground. There isn’t much in the peice that joins or seperates the foreground and background. And there isn’t much going on. Still, it is very appealing to the eye due to the excellent background.

  3. Pleasure Bot
    Totally hilarious. Very nicely done. The animations are smooth and simple, so it’s clear what’s going from start to finish. The text is easy to read, and ammusing. The whole thing isn’t too short or too long. Very creative. I don’t see how this one could have been better, but then it isn’t very visually fantastic. It’s funny, but not very artsy. This gets my third pick because the joke will eventually die off, so all that’s left is a simple background and some plain sprites.

Honorable mentions:

F, D, DF + Boobies.
This totally captures the essence of SRK. You got Ryu, you got the DP motion on a stick, and you got the tittays. Only way this could have been better is with a better background and better text. It’s nice, but it doesn’t really pop. The sprite is kind of plain and boring, too. I’ve seen Ryu’s DP too many times to count, it would have been nice with a pallete swap or some shading or added detail. There also isn’t much contast between the sprite and forground DP motion, so the DP motion itself gets a little lost, even with the shadow and outer glow. If a different color had been used for the motion and plus symbol, it might have stood out better. I probably would have gave this my 3rd place vote if not for the text and the background.

Spooky Upskirt Maki
This background is great, but the sprite blends too well. There’s hardly any contrast or depth. It’s also very dark. And there isn’t much T&A going on. I love the background – really do. But the forground could have popped more (SRK text too). If the sprite had a costume pallete swap, and the text been a contrasting color, I think this one would have been outstanding. Not sure how I feel about the border.
[Edit]: Also, I can’t tell if the background is emphasizing the foreground action. She’s punching, so there’s motion and energy and action, but the background doesn’t seem to emphasize it much.

Mission: Unusual
This had to have taken a lot of effort, because of all the sprite editing. I definitely admire the effort that was put into this one. Animation really pulls you in. The concept is funny, and the execution is very well done. It meets the SRK theme criteria in a subtle, but ammusing way – due to the background being the CvS2 training mode stage, and Mario doing a Shin Shoryuken. Over all, it’s really great, but just not over the top. I wanted to vote for it based totally on effort, but for some reason it just didn’t “wow” me.

Stuff The DP. Flaunt The Goods.
This one seriously cracked me up. It doesn’t tell much of a story though, and it loses points for using “mandatory” instead of “obligatory”. Funny, but kind of random and nonsensical.

iSuck…Ass!
Anything with Hugo is auto-funny. Could have animated the sprite better though – could have used his walk animation. Could have animated the iPod earphone cords better. This was pretty funny, but not profound.

Rejected!
I thought this one was pretty funny. The animation is good, and the concept is good. But it’s not hilarious. Not having a background hurts it too. And I feel the final frame doesn’t last long enough.

PS. SGG (GQAC): It was actually kugler’s thread. But yeah, I don’t know why I remember that, or your old alias. My memory is weird like that.

what i liked most about this the av maker used a BG from strider on nes(i think) and the concept of it reminds me of this manga i read about a girl wanting a boyfriend so she went on the internet nad got a “model” of a guy that she picked and it came to life and junk…but i didnt find this funny at all…5/10 +1 for that BG
