Okay, let me set something straight because there are alot of mis-infos out there.

1. I was definitely pissed/offended by Daniel’s remark after my match with Dan, I thought traveling to tournaments and seeing Houston again and playing against them was the whole idea of having a tournament in the first place. Why do we always have to bring cities into it, it doesn’t make sense. I know Dan beat me and he’s from Houston but does that mean Houston owns Austin, I don’t know where that comes from, I was holding my own in casual play, beating alot of people that placed higher than me.

2. I was pissed because I’m supposed to be not as good, first of all we don’t have SG, all we have is LL on slanted sticks so you should be surprised I am not getting worse. Don’t tell me Houston own Austin because it’s just not fair to compare like that, before SG who won the tournaments in TX regionasl? Skye did it I think twice, Minco did it once and then SG happened and Houston all of certain got a whole lot better. If Austin or Dallas has a venue like SG, I guaranteed you alot of our player will be alot better, now that’s a fact.

3. Daniel couldn’t have talk trash at a worst time, I hate it when I beat myself in tournaments and I generally do that. Against Dan, I almost killed his Doom when I DHCed Storm in, now I should’ve just run like a bitch but I decided to try my luck yet again so I ate RP and AHVB and lost Storm. I am already pretty pissed I did it to myself again when I hear in the background “Austin sucks”, “Houston owns Austin”, how the hell do you think I should fell? I didn’t realize it who it was until I turned around and then I saw it was Daniel, I was so pissed I was going to shove whoever it was first, but then I didn’t because that would accomplish nothing and I felt like Houston in general just doesn’t like Austin so I was just going to take off and never set my foot in SG again, I was that pissed.

Daniel and I are cool now, I knew it was just his trash talking but try not to do it right after the guy just lost a losers match.

Ranma, Eric didn’t go to the tournament for various reasons, he wanted to go or else he wouldn’t have posted couple pages back that he needed a ride. He defended me just like you guys would defend a Houston player would, let’s just drop this now.

Eric let’s do a get-together Friday night, I want to play you guys on good sticks and for free.

1. Eric, respect is not a thing to be taken lightly, but at that same token its not one given lightly as well. This whole thing is still really between Larry and Daniel. As for not saying anything about Austin:

I found it amusing that you were even trying to stand up for Austin pride, wasn’t it not too long ago you were hating on your fellow Austin players? I remember when you were spewing hate on Sungjin. I recall before that you had issues with Larry. Obviously I guess that’s all been squashed. Standing up for Larry, I can understand, but the way you went about it disappointed me.

Maybe you should look at your own words and stop being contradictive. You speak your mind, fine. You don’t take shit-talking serious, yet you get angry and upset over the words “Austin got owned”? He won the tourney, somewhere along the line he said Austin got owned, but it translates as Austin is shit, is that correct? Daniel was just being Daniel, he loves to talk, but in the end its just talk. If you REALLY don’t care that much about trash talking, then guess what, it was trash talking, so get over it. I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again. If you want to do something about it, want the respect, then we’ll see you in March. Respect for the people of Austin was not really in question. Now if you meant respect for your game, that has to be proven.

2. Larry, I clearly understand how you feel. I had a similar situation with Daniel at one of the weeklys bout half a year ago. But then again I thought about it and Daniel just talks too much. He talks without any real feeling behind it. Funny thing is, the whole “My town vs Your Town” was started by Dallas and Westwood. When Tony and Skye took 1st and 2nd at UH Tourney 2, that’s when the intercity rivalries started. Unfortunately, you became a victim of Daniel gettin too involved into it. I know he’s apologized, and I do too. I would have granted you a rematch with Dan had you requested it, and was about to ask you if you wanted one.

You have proven it before, and it hardly needs to be brought up except in this situation. Larry, you are without a doubt one of the top 5 players in Texas. Part of the trash talking is because we do expect you to do well. And because they view you as an equal rival, it comes out. There’s a select few in Texas outside of Houston that we know can be very dangerous come tournament time based on reputation. Skye Thompsen, John Minco, Tony Huynh, Mike Ochoa, and you have placed top 5 in our major tournies. So we know what you guys are capable of. Whenever we see any of you guys in the bracket, we don’t know what to expect, but at the same time, we know we should play our best to be safe.

If you’re one of those punks that scrolls to the bottom and skims the rest, I’ll summerize; Eric, Daniel didn’t mean to insult the Austin players. Larry, you are still one of the top guys in Texas. Daniel is a punkass. John Pertgen is a busybody dumbass that should stop posting altogether. Done.

Only reason I give Larry such a hard time is because he is the only one from Austin that can really hang with the best from Houston. I like playing against Larry cuz he is good comp. I have a lot of respect for him cuz he’s a good player and a nice guy. I know I have a big mouth sometimes, but I don’t really mean anything by it.

seriously, my thoughts are, austin needs to chill out about being offended. I personally like it when people criticize my game cause then i know what to work on. the useless comments like “austin sucksSSSss1!!1!!” doesnt really help my game though. And just cause a person is not better than you doesn’t mean that he can’t comment on your play. I really feel most of the austin players haven’t even seen how the game has evolved. And it is true, most austin players just hope that cable gets a lucky hit. Winning on luck is fun at first, but sure gets boring. Steve and I are the only ones playing mag, and Larry and I are the only ones playing sentinel. I have a funny feeling that magneto and sentinel are very good characters. I think the major problem is that everyone is too worried about losing and use their “better team.” I think the tournaments really hurt austin competition in many ways. Let’s try to learn someone new other than cable or blackheart. They’re good characters, but I think storm, sentinel, magneto are very good substitutes. Sentinel imo is the better version of blackheart. I’m no super dominate player, but I sure do know our lack variety of teams hurts austin. Try new teams, even larry should, (I do see him use doom/storm now once in a while). Those three chars are top tier for a reason, they are easy to use. Sentinel and Storm are the easiest chars to use. Magneto take little more practice. You just have to spend a little time in training mode for combos and wow hes good. I’ve seen everyone experimenting before, but it seemed to all digress back to bh/cable.

personally, i dun really mind the fact that everybody plays BH/Cable teams…mag teams would own them up the wall anywhere if we could play on SG-quality machines. in a perfect world MSP would light that team up like a X-mas tree, but the sad fact is…we live in Austin, where there are no SG-quality machines, and teams like MSP get owned by Cable like ten-cent whores

i agree with Sungjin that we need more variety here in Austin, but with shitty machines like LL, BH/Cable is the safest team to play since it doesn’t require precision tri-jumps and half-circle motions (AVHB’s don’t fucking count :mad: ). the main problem is that there’s no payoff to playing teams like MSP in Austin…

if one goddamn hyper grav or dash or super jump or tri-jump doesn’t come out it’s always a difference of at least 3/4 of either your lifebar or your opponent’s…sometimes the turnaround is a whole character. I get a lot out of playing for just 10 min at SG, whereas at LL all I get out of playing for a whole hour is just frustration and rage. At LL, I’m just donating my time and tokens towards Larry’s APEX points, and what fun is that (no offense Larry )…these days, I can think of a billion or so more satisfying ways of spending my Saturday afternoons…like watching porn and eating popcorn shrimp.

you know, if only Cmutt could open up an arcade/authentic Chinese restaurant/bank/bubble tea shop/sports bar/porno shop/buffalo wings/pool hall establishment…and all within walking distance of campus, then all my problems would be solved…hint, hint, Chris
