finally got stupid ass xi unlocked, god why do i have to jump fireballs and counter kings dm just to use the other characters. I HATE UNLOCKING STUFF IN GAMES.
oh and too bad the “bonus” characters are not usable in tournaments (from what I understand) but it’s ok since you can just play them in NGBC
Okay then I guess I will use youtube and Stage6/sevenload…Youtube will be used for: NEC8, FRXI, EVO East SNK, EVO North SNK, EVO West SNK.
**EVO World will be on Stage 6/something of higher quality and I will be sure to tell people about that so they know!!!
Thing is how to make sure and tell EVERYONE on youtube? I post some comments on my vids but should I just post a bulletin on my profile?
The timing for MAX Muscleman is in those posts I put a page or so back…I can’t totally expain the rhythm…Its not quite a Just Frame, but it does have a rhythm to it…experiment with it yourself to see if you can get it down…
You gotta just go through Survival mode, and believe me, with Tung its HELLA EASY…
EDIT- I have just posted a bulletin on all my youtube accounts so everyone that has subscribed to my vids knows the location of the EVO World and Mexico footage so now it appears we can use BOTH SOURCES…
For the quality- Stage6 (and since EVO World SNK hopefully will be the start of its own DVD or so) and youtube for most of the other tournaments…
Re: hidden characters in XI, IIRC Gai is the strongest one of them. Jyazu and Silber are about even, Adel is decent, Hayate is awful. Gai is the only one to me that stands out as having no glaring weaknesses and he is really solid. He comes off as difficult, but you can play a simple Gai and still get some good results since his combos are pretty easy and he does massive damage as well as being very QS-friendly.
Going back to the whole Oz/Van leader discussion, honestly the only reason you might want to play Vanessa leader in that team is because without her leader she has no reliable setup for the infinite within that particular team. So that might be a valid reason to make her your leader within that particular setup so you can get the most out of her. Oswald leader is still a much scarier character than Vanessa leader.
you’re right, that’s who i ended up beating survival with… well him and Chonrei.
Tenganken x 1000 and then qcbx2 P ftw on the computer. What a bad playing style though hahaha.
Yeah, I can remember now. Something like, he’s the best because nothing works on him, but he’s also the worst cuz he can’t do jack to you.
All of the sub-bosses are weird in their own way. Gai’s movelist is unconventional and very technical. Jyazu is all projectiles and wacky shit. Silber is super-slow but hits incredibly hard. Hayate is just wacky. Honestly, Adelheid is probably the most “standard” of the sub-bosses.
I presonally say Gai is one of the best of the sub-bosses.
Just really hard to play, if you haven’t played him.
I would personally like to start playing Gai, but I don’t understand his moves.
Jyazu has some crazy keep-away shit, 4 different projectiles, but takes scary damage, almost as bad as Adel.
But, if you’re like me, you can combine Jyazu’s keep-away skills with his projectiles and come up with a zoning Jyazu.
If AI’s layout wasn’t confusing to me, I might show you some of it.
Adelheid gives out damage like a beast but takes hits like a bitch.
That’s Adelheid’s main pro and con in a nutshell.
Hayate is kind of a wildcard in the tier rankings because he has some very bad matchups and some very good matchups.
Basically, if you have no kind of long range attack and no invincible anti-air you lose to Hayate for free. If so, Hayate loses. Whether or not Hayate is safe from his aerial followups after an air boomerang, is basically the factor that will determine if he can win.
Sometimes you don’t even need an invincible anti-air to beat Hayate. Eiji’s QCF+P will shut down Hayate’s air moves quite solidly, not to mention his Zantetsu Ha projectile super will make Hayate second-guess when to jump.
Hayate being scared to jump= Hayate loses.
SieClayton- Excellent accepted!!! NEC8 is gonna be OFF THE HOOK! Just got back from San Antonio, and I’m tired, lost my drivers license at the airport, and yeah I got things to do indeed to make sure I’m all good.
I’m gonna celebrate a little today because I’ve had a rough day to tell you the truth…
Syyx- Getting the timing down with Tung quite yet?
About the Leader discussion…what I’ve found out is that do watever FITS YOU THE BEST…American and JAP style is to use Gato Leader, but Vanessa/Oswald Leader may fit you better, like Duo Lon Leader fits Mexican Cajun Strike, Taekua, and Oswald Leader fits the Mexican Triad V.1 plus others. Do what fits you!!
Style of play plays a MAJOR part into things as well!!!
I was mostly talking about leaders within the context of that guy’s team, not in general. There are a lot of different reasons to pick the leader that you pick. I would say the one universal guideline is that your leader should be your best character on that team (your personal best character, not the overall “best” character on your team).
I think you should pick your leader according to the weapon that you need against each opponent, I grab oswald when the other likes to jump, or let’s say that you give real problems to someone with benimaru or malin to quote some examples, that makes you well solid.
