ok, i just started using kisarah. i think shes pretty deep for an NGBC character. found some nice little tricks with her already too.

[]She can karacancel all her cancellable normals into either command moves, specials, DMs, or DA (iirc) during, and even after the active frames of the normals. stand A is probably the most useful though, since it is karacancelable on frame 1.
[]When canceled (or karacanceled) from normals, her command move properties change to become faster, but they lose the overhead properly, sadly. This is compensated by the fact that the b+D followup of f+D will still ultimate juggle. Also, stand A karacanceled to b+D is an awesome anti air, and will stop crossups (if they aren’t meaty of course).
[]Sadly she isn’t able to cancel into her scumgale, but comboing it is still possible if you have enough frame advantage.
[]Nice low bnb is either crouch B, crouch A, f+D, b+D (you can do stand A, f+D, b+D after that if you aren’t too far from them) or crouch D, qcb+A hcf+A (with an optional followup of [stand A, f+D, b+D]x2 if distance allows for it).
[*]Mid hitting bnb is close D, qcb+B, qcb+A hcf+A. If you’re in the corner you can follow up with [stand A, f+D, b+D]x2. One of my backup teams I was going to use against Mago should he have gotten closer is TUNG-KISARAH.

Based on who I’ve talked to among the OG’s, most of the OG’s are wary of 98UM, but want it to be good. They’re just afraid it will be “gimmicky” as in the ultimate versions of characters being overpowered.
Man i havent played NGBC in a long time. My Mai/Kim team is rusty as shit. Everyone here is too stuck on 3rd Strike and Tekken DR. No SNK love here.

if there is a “american” title i suppose right now it should be DG’s but man don’t sleep on SoCal we got killers in this game and all of us are ready to take that crown… what little crown there is to be had in this game… but you get my point…

on another note… whats the deal with the SST EVO vids? why is the tournament with the most comp getting no love?
Also, don’t be surprised if an online player takes Evo North if they adjust to Tenka. The technical skill online is quite high, and they do play online tournaments and help each other out. Hype Tenka up on Heavenly Spirits and you’ll get a few players. Mike and Vansibel particularly are vicious. (Vansibel’s Canadien Northwest and Mike’s Ohio- invite them personally, they’ll show if they can- they’re not Emils who run from offline comp)
Expect some characters to be investigated for being to broken in tournament play. Most like boss characters. From orochi, orochi leona, shadow geese, so on and so forth. I know orochi will be banned unless they weaken him like capcom does later versions of M.Bison and Akuma. If you play in ex mode with orochi you could win the game when you get low on life. The light super covers the whole screen and it’s a lvl 1 super, meaning you could do infinite light supers thus killing someone for free. You can’t dodge the light or roll through the light. It’s broken and he is broken.
The 1st game you could use Akuma (ST) he is broken. Why was he broken you ask? Because he’s a fucking secret boss character. I think it would take the enjoyment out of KOF98 um if secret boss characters are allow in tournament play. See in the console version of 3S Gill is banned, even though he is playable in the console version. No one wants to ruin the game by playing with the boss that takes no skills to win with. The problem I see with the new generation of snk/playmore gamers are they don’t understand the difference in top tier characters and broken boss characters. There is no rules for this game right now, so I would hope FRXI could create the standard rules for KOFXI :UM for major tournaments. If you want the community to take your games more seriously you have to re-evaluate what you think is broken and what is fair.

I don’t think the problem is people clammoring for BANS because they don’t know the difference between “broken” and “top-tier”…it’s that they won’t play any new game AT ALL because they don’t know the difference between “broken” and “top-tier”.
You can even look in this thread to see people who won’t play KOF XI and NGBC because KGO and Tung are “broken”.
