Actually you can use a joystick if you have a gamecube > ps2 converter. And the classic controller for the wii is a great hand controller.
I have one of those converters.

Unfortunately: XI seems to go like this
S-class
A-class
E-class
Z-class
Momoko
…
XI has a decent enough top tier, but the mid tier is where the game seems to lack, too many chars are near-useless.
I could say the same of Coliseum. XI actually has quite a few viable characters. But when the game lets you pick all three of the best characters in the game at the exact same time, it presents a bit of a dilemma.
The effect exists in Coliseum as well, but I don’t think it’s as bad. Mid-tiers are more competitive in Coliseum then XI, though not as competitive as the 98/SST mid-tier.
Still disagree there. XI has more room for flexibility in team composition. If anything, they’re about the same.
Interestingly enough, I went back into Coliseum last night and fooled around with Lee in training mode.
360, C, Zanretsuken, cancel and juggle with D does a surprising amount of damage for Lee.
I believe Lee is very underrated because he’s really tricky to use. He might be the hardest character in the game to play.
Joey’s Lee is very Japanese in terms of play-style, in some cases I think maybe better.
I don’t think very many characters in XI are useless, just that too many characters play the same, which makes some characters obsolete.
Anybody B-class or higher can be used on a serious XI team.
In Coliseum, I’d say the same except for the most part a team of 2 B-class characters won’t beat a serious Big/Kim or Big/Hotaru.
Momoko
Don’t listen to these people, cyber woo is garbage. He has way too many flaws that are easy to spot. If he were in a capcom game then things might be different. The whole case can beat him pretty much. The only thing cyberwoo has going for him is his strength. He’s like Ryu in 3rd. He appears to be like a playable character at first but he is nothing close to being a good character.
I love Cyber Woo.
Here is my latest take on WHP tiers-
SS- Rasputin
S - Muscle, Jack
A - Ryoko, Mudman, Maximum, Broken
B - Erick, Hazou, Dragon, Kidd
C - Fuma, Ryofu
D - Shura
F - J.Carne, Janne
Ryoko and Mudman have crazy pressure games. Ryoko with her hop knee attack, and mud with the dive knee. Mud’s dive knee can infinite (timing is weird though), as well. Ryoko and he can mix up throws with this pressure for big damage. Some of these traps are really hard to get out of without Hanzo’s DP or Erick’s headbut. Erick moved up because his headbut, as far as i can tell, is instant and gets him out of a lot of trouble. Also, his wave projectile is huge and can CROSS UP on wakeup. WTF. His bread and butter combo also does 50% easy. (c.wp,c.wp,c.mk,hammer). Muscle might be SS teir as well, actually. He can move around too easily with his dropkick and its totally safe to do so. He has smaller problems with projectile characters, but his damage is so big that if he can make it in, chances are he wont be off you till you lost 70% of your life or more. I think he is better than Jack, but Jack is still probably the top of the A class (or bottom of S).
urrrrk pump your brakes on… Ryu is definitely a good char in third strike homeboy… i don’t play NGBC much but that analogy fails on too many levels…
somebody better tell Frankie 3s and Alex Valle to stop playing Ryu competitively apparently he’s nothing close to good in that game
i think a better analogy would have been Hugo or something
Momoko=useless? I liked her too. I guess I have to make her good then. Keits watch out for my Momoko next month. I’ll find out some crazy ass shit that’ll make her B class.:arazz:
I barely play XI, but when I get the game, ill get a lot better. I play Tizok, Eiji, Adel(L)
I hate Adel.:arazz:
Are there tiers for MIRA?
Tung = Cable; Everyone gets shot/muscled
Tung is not a “bad” character, he is just a gimmicky character. Muscleman is all he really has going for him; it’s a great move and he has a lot of ways to land it, but in the end he is not as good as other characters that have been designated as A class. When tiering a character, the first question you should ask yourself is “Can this character hold their own against the majority of the characters that he/she is ranked with, as well as those ranked below?” Even if Tung could fight the likes of Mr. Big, if everyone else in S class and A class can beat him soundly, he is not a candidate for either of those ranks.
Is Eiji any good in XI? I’ve been toying with the idea of picking him since I never really used him since his only other appearance was KOF95. At the moment I play Oswald (L), Shen & Elisabeth but I’m always checking out new people to input into that team.
yeah, while Joey’s Lee is on some sick ish, im not exactly good at this game…
i don’t know much about XI (not gonna bother importing it when a US release is at hand and i’m more into 98 lately) but from what i’ve heard XI eiji is high tier with speed and some good, straightforward ways to land damage but supposedly has a moveset that makes his playstyle fairly predictable (again, someone could probably explain this better than i could)
See, when I saw Joey play, I didn’t think “wow, Tung and Lee are so much stronger than I thought”, it was more of “wow, Joey is a much better player than I was expecting, he’s really solid”. It’s not Tung, it’s not Lee, it’s Joey. He is good at games.
