At the Eye of The Ragin Storm Part II-Out with VCRs, in with DVD recorders!

A KOF2K6/MI2 Combo Video. =D

For those that play. A little lead in for Regulation A.

is KOF202 on ps2 arcade perfect or no?

No, it isn’t. The problems were already addressed on a previous page.

Are you sure this works in XI? I could never get it to connect…

If it’s not ambiguous, then your opponents aren’t timing it right, and you don’t have to do it late at all to combo after. It really is that good, I assure you. Also, trying to just “hit him out of it” is asking for a lot of damage because that shit has some MAD priority.

Yeah I’m sure it works, I’ve done it in training mode and in a match. It is a tough cancel but definitely possible.

PS2 2002 is utter shit!

But…as Alex Knows…Kyo’s jumping down+C works WONDERS against Maximas Body Splash…

I play Kyo vs. Maxima for that particular purpose.

Also G.O.T. if you are reading this man ask more specific SST questions hope you got the PM with Yoshitora/Ukyo/Kazuki links from my older thread because I am not going to post in the “other thread” anymore the hell with it…

**EDIT- **I got my money match series with Sanji Himura I’m getting recorded today so I will let you all know when I get back how that turns out and I’ll get someone around here to put the vids up.

Update- All right it was great finally meeting Sanji Himura and helping him run his tournaments etc.

Here are the results from the SNK/other matches we played-

**NeoGeo Battle Coliseum-
Dark Geese 10, Sanji Himura 0.

KOF NeoWave-
Dark Geese 10, Sanji Himura 0.

HSF2 AE-
Dark Geese 10, Sanji Himura 0.**

We are planning big things in the future for the location and we are gonna try to start like bi-monthlies etc running for the tournaments around here because we had too much fun doing it.

We couldnt get the matches recorded because my VCR was soooo hightech that it didnt even have an Input on it…

I had to trade it with someone that had an input/output VCR so we can get more stuff live.

Update- Vids-

Also Taikobou…as soon as I get some time man because Im on a hella hectic schedule prepping for Mexico and EVO West and the same time I will get on those KOF95 vids…

But as of now things are going very very fast…

After EVO West I’ll have time before Triad Showdown IV…which just might get crazier Triad as Diirt_Kicker is interested in coming to make this DFW vs. The Triad in KOFXI Part I…

Just wanted to add a couple of things about KOF 2k2 for the PS2.

KOF 2k2 japanese version is complete crap. It has glitches that prevent characters like Kula from performing her combos that made her a beast in the arcades. It has an input glitch where you press qcb+K but you get qcb+P instead when you are doing her corner combos. Sometimes when I superjump with a CD, I get a Jump C instead, and it happens with many characters. There is also a glitch where you get dizzied really easily even when you got hit with a few moves. It sure as hell wasn’t present in the arcades. Oh yeah, the sprites are extremely pixelated as well even when I reduced my TV’s softness to zero!
I heard that the US version has fixed these problems and is a better port than the JPN version except that the sprites are still rough and pixelated.

I totally forgot about those glitches but you are damn right…I remember not even being able to get Chris’s stuff either I felt like at times they DIDNT WANT YOU TO DO THE COMBO…that’s how it seemed…

And yeah all the other stuff…The US version yeah fixed those…but its still Shit Level 2 on Ps2.

The DC port of KOF 2002 was pretty awesome except for the slowdowns in the HSDMs and also the same glitch where the characters get dizzied too soon. The input lags were not present in the DC port. The DC port does not suffer from pixelated sprites, but rather, sprites that were too interpolated and soft. The BG graphics were also too soft. It pains my eye seeing it. I don’t play my DC games on a VGA box so i can’t comment on the VGA input, but it sure looks blurry on S-vid.

Dizzied in kof2k2?

wait there were 2 versions of kof 2k2 on ps2 in japan. one was released as a single game and one was part of the NEST collection. are any of those close to the arcade?

I put my Dreamcast 2002 in just now because I didn’t remember it looking like that. The backgrounds do look a little soft I guess, and could be a little darker in comparison to the foregrounds. I do remember trying to darken my tv to make them look more right, but it made the foreground a little too dark. But blurry is not a word I would use. I don’t even have my sharpness turned all the way up. The characters look just fine to me. I don’t complain too much about the graphics in this game considering I thought 2001 looked like shit.

Though I’m looking at the stage with the lightning right now in 2002 and boy it really looks flat and pathetic. The XBox version of this stage looks a lot better, and they made the tree move and shit… though most of the XBox versions DO look too soft and the backgrounds are noticeably much lighter than the foregrounds in many stages.

I think the nests collection only went up to 2001. I’m not sure though. I’ve seen an order site list 2002 as being included but I’ve also seen someone write a detailed synopsis of what was included and 2002 was not there…

Okay Kane_Warhead what SST characters do you want movelists/other stuff for…most of this I can probably spout off the top of my head for you so just let me know.

As I said via PM…I aint posting in the other thread anymore…I’m through with even wasting my time doing it.

Let me know who I can help you with…and dude the gamefaqs.com movelist in SST was taken down a LONG time ago (2 years ago last one was DJ Tigresa man all that shit Festivals talking about its hella old news…been happened a long time ago FAQs really dont exist but I got a small one for you)…serious man just ask those SST q’s let me know I promise I will help you out as much as I can and have you a** VERY FAST REPLY.**

But I wont post in the other thread…thats the thing. (Never again! )

lukus you postin real early??? imma try to be on all day… try to hit me up on aim if ya can

Does anyone here know anything about the quality of the Fuun Super Combo and/or Garou: Mark of the Wolves ports for PS2?

PS2 Garou is pretty accurate…not arcade perfect but close. Dont know about Kizuna Encounter/Savage Reign yet.

Joey I’ll get on AIM in a few.

I am surprised that you mentioned nothing about his stand D. That along with his jump C are what made him so good in XI.

Emil: Not sure that it is relevant to tell me how Maxima works in 2k2 and attempting to relate it to XI.

I agree…this aint 2k2…you gotta play the game…

Different engine…different way to play him…

Stand D seems too slow in my opinion to just throw out…I do use it in his combos and occasionally if they block a jump C I’ll walk up a few steps and throw it out.
