So something strange has happened to me twice now since the patch. I usually do lp,mp,lk xx oni/upkicks for a confirm, but since the patch i keep getting reversaled between the mp,lk. I have never been reversaled before and im fairly sure its a true string, any one else have that happen? Stealth nerf?
Yeah, that was mentioned earlier. Although you could view it as both a curse and a blessing because it seems to have a tendency to be fast enough to hit people out of their mashing.
If you still want a tight safe string off jab for whatever reason you can go for xx MK xx d+MP xx oni.
I mentioned it tuesday, go with lp,mk,cr.mp if you’re starting with a jab now !

Since I posted now… I realised Asuka’s oki game is pretty good now that you got damages by ending your combos with falling rain; good damages off her 2 overheads, heron dance that catches backdash, b.mp mk and EX Sweep throw against rolls (can’t use it right though… I keep getting ex falling rain for some reasons). That’s probably how she should be played now, I wish I could show you some of my replays… If you’re on Xbl and want to see some just tell me!

The cr.hp versions are much tighter but definately optimal.

Uhhhhh…I didn’t know you could tag cancel her Falling Rain into another character. Just saw Eita do it on his archives.
Has anyone else been able to get this with partners besides Lili and Juri? I can’t seem to get it down with Julia’s launcher. If it’s partner specific, what should be my post launch combo? I’m currently doing f.LK > f.LP > st. HK xx oni. I can’t seem to get sweep after this combo though
It’s a 1-frame timing, just like Marduk’s EX Airgrab and other types of command throws and stuff.
f+lk > f+lp > st.mk xx falling rain (or st.hk/cr.hp xx falling rain if in the corner… falling rain tends to whiff midscreen unless asuka is right under the opponent, hence st.mk for the forward movement.)
