Assistance! M.O.D.O.K Assist and Assist Support Thread

Doesn’t sound bad, but hsien-ko and haggar seem like they might have trouble getting in on zoners.

Me thinking of having a team with Hsien Ko and Doom

Assist:
Hsien Ko “Pendulum” take out cross up assist/ for sticky situations
Doom “hidden missiles” keep the opponents grounded.

I’m going to try out MODOK (Haven’t figured out what assist yet), Iron Man (Repulsor Blast), Sentinel (Drones) and see how that works. Iron Mans assist can keep them getting over his head and if it hits, MODOK can combo super off it and push them back off.

I’m also looking to try to team MODOK with Doom, but I haven’t figured out a 3rd yet. Sentinel will probably work, but I’m looking into something not so brainless.

I don’t have Marvel to play on but in the time I practiced, I’m pretty satisfied with Tron (Gustaff Fire), Iron Man (Repulsor Blast or Smart Bombs), and MODOK (?). I usually put Tron on point because she can build a lot of meter and after landing a lunchtime rush I can switch to another char’s super. I used Iron Man mainly to zone and rush down when necessary with Tron’s assist. MODOK with Tron’s assist is great since it has a lot of invincibility and keeps MODOK away from getting hit because of the hitbox.

(Just started loving MODOK)

Why don’t you guys go a little bit in the air and use Analyze Cube as an anti-air? Or if the opponent does happen to get close just dash to the other side while you have either the Special or Regular Barrier Shield out.

Also my team is MODOK (Psionic Blaster)/Trish (Peekaboo)/Sentinel (Sentinel Force - Charge)

This team has its unique versatility whereas you can play zoning-keepaway and also rushdown. Keep in mind that MODOK and Trish’s :l: are pretty fast. Also Trish can wavedash into :d::m: with an assist covering.

I just Peekaboo assist because it’s faster than Hopscotch (and it can completely shut down teleporters as long as the opponent doesn’t destroy it), plus you can easily protect yourself with Barrier.

And Sentinel…well…he’s got Peekaboo assist to help him :stuck_out_tongue:

MODOK: Shield, Sentinel: Drones, Trish: HopScotch

Thinking that Air Raid would probably be better for MODOK for ground work, but I’ve been in the air almost exclusively, except to get a anal combo in off of the chair-fart’s bounce. Drones just help Trish make some of her more aggressive opportunities safer if there’s a slip. Hopscotch helps cover modok in the air-to-ground zoning game (keeping them grounded) and also’s sexy in SentvsSent flying, I’ve found~

Spencer (Armor Piercer)/Deadpool (Trigger Happy)/M.O.D.O.K. (PsiBlaster)

i’m currently trying to get modok (psi) haggar (lariat) spencer (slant shot/armor pierce) to work. I’m way better with spencer right now so i’ll often put him on point if the matchup warrants it.

Realyst–try Ammy cold star (great for modok pressure–yeah, it does exist), hulk (wave/crush), or a tron/akuma type.

In my theory fighting I’ve been thinking that modok hulk hsien ko would be absolutely beast in this game. Gamma wave assist would eat anything psi blaster misses (like the bottom portion of those shots trish has) and senpu or whatever is, as we all know, absurd. modok may be more prone to getting snapped back but hulk’s gamma wave assist hits surprising high, especially if a large character does a move in the air.

I’m thinking about running Modok | Hulk | Akuma

It’s gonna be hard on my Hulk not having an OTG but otherwise I think this team will work out fairly well. Only characters I’m worried about are Mag, Storm, and Ammaretsu

Armor piercer would be good for corner pressure, id use katana-rama instead for OTG cube loops but its so slow…

believe it or not ballon bomb is not completely useless…

slow? katana rama is the fastest OTG assist in the game.

Ok, so I haven’t read this whole thread, but I will if necessary. Basically my team is Team Keepaway, I don’t want 'em near me. **MODOK **on point(Mostly because I’m training with him, **Barrier **assist. Not really getting to much use of it besides w/ the CPU, might switch to Balloon Bomb), Arthur(My most solid character, Fire Bottle Assist), and Dormy(Love Flame Carpet, Stalking Flare, Choatic Flame, and…hell, I just love the dude, lol!; Purification).

I come here asking for keepaway tactics, but in general would be great, too!

Wesker looks like a no brainer due to Modok’s lack of low attacks coupled with the speed and variety of his instant overheads…

Has anyone paired Modok with Hulk - are there any good Cube Loops using any of Hulk’s assists? I don’t mind sacrificing the AA assist if it means better Cube loops. Just debating if the team is viable as Hulk and Modok are my two favorites thus far but might need to make them A-Team and B-Team.

Wesker goes well with everyone.

I’ve used Hulk and MODOK together since day 1, but I wouldn’t expect to use Hulk in cube loops. His AA assist covers the top of MODOK, which is where he’s most vulnerable. You could try some wave assist stuff, but I don’t think it’ll be crucial in combos (like Haggar lariat).

I use Felicia (cat spike), Modok (beam), Wesker (OTG). Mainly use wesker for unblockables, felicia for combo extenders, beam to beat out assists and also sandwich mixups.

Not sure how the assits can help for Modok and cube combos. Need to get into training mode.

I gave a run online, which barely counts as playing, with Hulk AA / Modok BB / Sent Charge

Went pretty well. I need to learn some tag combos from Hulk to Modok, real cube combos, and then my Sent just needs to be a bit more solid overall. Luckily Hulk holds it down for me.

I’m thinking about running Modok (beam), Wesker (Low shot), Akuma (Tatsu). Team seems good on paper, but we’ll see.

Shuma gorath mystic ray is the best assist in game for modok . It is so unique and nothing compares to it. I feel so gimp without it.

It plays to M.o.D.o.K 's Strengths . Mystic ray hits the whole screen in front of him. Even the top of the screen. What is one of M.o.D.o.K’s strengths? flying to the top of the screen. This assist also comes out a little late. Which is good because you can use it when the opponent is jumping at you .It will interupt them if they successfuly hit you or miss you. Even if you are both at the top of the screen. No other assist does this.

It goes well with M.o.D.o.Ks zoning you can set up bombs and cross up in the air use the beam then rush in . If you fail you are saved if you get the hit you can combo.

It also helps M.o.D.o.K counter super jumps and helps M.o.D.o.K zone against characters that he is unable to on the ground or is risky too zone on the ground like sent or akuma/beamers with bar.

Also great for M.o.D.o.K 's trolling x-factor characters. Especially sentinel Fly to the top. Shuma ray when they appraoch. lol
