Doesn’t dashing backwards cause the headstomp to whiff, and bison to land infront of you?
Awesome. I didn’t think of Ken’s close fierce and standing forward for some reason. I’m going to practice these and using my roll against the Devil’s Reverse right now. Trade with a DP, and then dash up, Shinryuken is new to me also.
I tried it. Bison stomped me back to uglytown. :xeye:
I bet I could back hop it with Blanka though…
hi, what is a run trap, and how do you execute it?
is it the same as those running guardcrushes found on dj-b13s video? how do you do those? like run and instantly stop to poke and repeat?
i dont know what an anti-cross up is. and #3,an early jab DP trades with bisons headstomp, and i can dash up and lvl ONE?
also, wouldnt a trade have me knocked down?
an anti crossup is a move used to stop crossups…usually hits above your head.
by “run trap” i guess u mean running jabs. basically its using the frame advantage off your jab, and running, then doing another jab, to keep pressure. it is by no means a trap though, invince moves beat it for free.
that running jabs just doesn’t seems to work. Ppl here ALWAYS mash and get out of pressure, when I try a ‘counter hit’ setup, it’s me who gets counter hit’ed
you need to work on your timing then. also helps if youre using a character with a good jab. like shotos, geese or chun-li.
If it’s early it sounds like it would be a knockdown, but if it’s late it shouldn’t. I dunno tho, I have no TV to try it out ATM.
whoops, missed a few:
if you’re not ready for it, this implies that you can’t anti air it in time. in this case, your alternative to blocking the attack is to eat it. also to re-iterate something i’ve been saying a lot, people worry about guard bar too much. guard breaks are rare. the whole system is in place to scare people, and it’s doing it’s job.
to answer your question, yes, everybody is forced to block a jump attack now and then. like i said before, nobody can be prepared for everything all at the same time. you gotta pick and choose
i’m not really sure what you’re asking me. if you’re asking me how to stay IN THE ZONE for longer, i guess you just need more experience trying to read people. despite what a lot of people think, “psychic-ness” in games is something that can be improved upon through experience
actually, everybody who posted got it wrong. whenever you jump, regardless of whether you attacked or not, you cannot do anything for the first frame (or 2, possibly) upon landing except for block. if you stuck an attack out, you have at least 2 frames of recovery (for normal and super jumps) that can’t be cancelled into anything. calling it “disabling the trip guard” is a little misleading, since you can’t block any attacks at all, not just low ones. just calling it “recovery” makes a lot more sense.
don’t believe me? go to training mode and pick chun vs sagat. have sagat jump around and land and go into supers and dps, with or without doing jump attacks. have chun do meaty low strongs for sagat to land on. sagat will never be able to do an uppercut or super. he’s only able to not stick out an attack and block low when he lands
when people hit you with empty jump (or jump whiff an attack) into super, it just means you timed your attack wrong. think of it as another form of roll super. it’s theoretically possible to stop it 100% of the time, but sometimes you’re better off just blocking it
better players seem to be able to look for everything at once simply because they are better at reading their opponents. there’s also some subtle visual cues you can look for as well. for example, if i walk forward and my opponent walks back, that most likely means he was looking for a whiff at that moment. in bison’s case, it probably means he’s trying to space a 1 hit scissor kick. if he walks back past the sweet spot distance, he’s probably looking for a super jump cross up, and so on
one of the biggest drawbacks to playing at the advanced level is having to have a completely different mindset against scrubby competition, since oftentimes advanced shit counters intermediate and advanced shit, but scrubby shit counters advanced shit back. this is one of my biggest weaknesses, as it’s hard for me to shift back and forth between modes. anyway, exploiting things against weaker players will often generate bad habits that are hard to break. if you’re that much better than your competition, use the matches to practice things, like counter hit setups and stuff
OH man this is so true, I mean I’m not advanced but I’ve moved far away from random stuff like roll super and such, and alot of times I do so much better against good players than random players, cause it’s hard for me to remember that they are gonna do stuff I call “random” no matter how planned out it was on the part of the other player.
That’s it!!! I’ll just use scrub tactics against you from now on…Hah! That’s what you get for being advanced. <3
hey buktooth
how do i properly line up to play next in arcades in japan?
usually in canada i just put a coin down on the machine, but when i did that some smoking jap guy threw the coin on the ground. wtf. since im little chinese man all i did was pick up the coin and wait till they’re completely off the machine before i sat down.
im in umeda in osaka in an arcade called “monte carlo” , is there any good players that u know of that i should look out for?
thanks, but can you gimme some examples of an anti-crossup?
my bison AA game is so weak. i cant utilize cr.fierce too well. and if im crouching and someone tries to cross me up-i usually roll. can you gimme some more options? examples for him or other characters will be alright,i’ll just start from there.
Its just an attack you do to prevent characters from hitting you with a crossup.
Examples:
Ken standing forward / reverse DP
Cammy standing RH
Sakura standing fierce
Sagat reverse Tiger Uppercut
Mai standing forward
I got a question for you Buk.
Why do C-Sagat players get so desperate in alot of situations?
Sometimes it seems like he cant do anything without having to take a risk or jump, roll, something. Alot of characters limit his options and like I said sometimes he cant do anything. (Immobile ass nigga) lol
Alot of people say C-Sagat is sooo good but I dont see him being better than K-Sagat at all since he’s so much more dominant. I dunno what do you think?
btw: Sorry if this question was asked or talked about before but I dont really check the forums but Im curious to hear what ya have to say.
C-sagat with a lead is fucking tough to beat cause he has the option of taking a shitload of your lifebar if you mess up once and then building the potential for another level 2 really fast. When you don’t have the lead with c-sagat it’s hard to safely chase after someone though, it’s just a patience problem. Sagats biggest weakness is that you can run away from him late game if time is running thin. But for the most part, people are just not being patient enough
HEY BUK- Whats the best song on the english Utada Hikaru cd. I just can’t decide they are all so
Does RC connon drill counter vega? And the threat of it?
And Rite now I’ve been playing R3 Blanka and R1 Sak as my main team. Except against Vega, do you have any quick counter character/ counter gameplan to make him easier? And whats you thought on R3?
I was getting my ass handed to me by Ricko N-blanka/sagat/chun, switched to R3 team and won hella times. Also in general I s3em to win alot more with this team, What are your thoughts? One trick pony? just good? :karate:
RC cannon drill counters nothing, since blocking counters it for free
Its safe on block
damn, this is aggravating. sorry to say it again, but i need help with my bison aa’ing. i learn through experience and no i dont have a console to be practicing this inside training mode. i need examples/scenarios/and or character specifics. when is the right time to do a cr. fierce or a standing fierce for aa?
and when they try to cross me up,which i THINK is when they jump over my head with an attack, correct me if im wrong, which attack can bison use as an anti-crossup?
