i was talking about inane, general questions like how to play a certain character or stupid shit that can be figured out. RC’ing jab/short moves is the one thing in cvs2 i’ve never been able to do at all.
don’t be a dick.

-go into training mode for 5 minutes and figure the shit out. =p
Oh, and i do it by sliding my fingers, kinda the same way i rc funky kick…
are you for reals? you mean to tell me you can rc electricity like a robot but cant rc jab moves?
i’ll tell u how later
does it matter how you get your tiger uppercut to combo? As long as it hits. personally i just go with cr.short, s.jab
I just got done reading your frame data trainer at video-opera.com. i clicked to animebooks from there and i was checking out the cvs2 millianaire 2001 guide book. I was just wondering if you knew it contained frame data for everyone or not and if it was comprehendable being as the text is japanese. . . if not, i was wondering what the definitive place for frame date is, at least for cvs2…? Thanks!
the difference they want to talk about is that sometimes people are prone to missing the cr.short, st.jab link, and as a safety measure, the TU is linked so that if you messed up, and the opponent blocks the jab, or you forgot and whiffed the jab (cause the guy crouches under the jab), you still have some time to not TU.
Can anyone here consistantly pull off Bison Lk RC Sciccors? I read the shit people replied to my question but, I can do it…I’d say 10%? That’s awfully low. Usually i just get the move, or the roll. The method i’m using is double tapping:
:db: , :lp: :lk: , :r: + :lk: very quickly(LK part).
Or: Negative Edge
:db: , hold :lp: :lk: , :r: and let go of :lk:.
Usually nothing happens when i do this, just a roll. I’m thinking maybe i don’t cancel it quick enough, hence why i use double tapping method.
Anymore tips, instead of just “practice”?
I was just fucking around w/ you. And I just do charge moves as a hcf RC cuz I can do Ken’s kick alot.
For negative edge, you basically just tap LK as fast as you can and don’t really hold it. I think you’ve only got 2 frames to release it after the roll is pushed down, and you gotta complete the motion at the same time. So you push down both, but just hold LP and release LK as fast as possible (or vice versa for a LP move like hibiki rc jab running slash). Basically an Akira knee hop from VF4 with the motion for the special.
VF4Evo’s training mode is too dope. It gives you frame by frame input display, so its good for practicing things like this.
Double tapping is mostly bullshit. Slide method would probably be better for HCF motions.
never thought of that. holding lp while i double tap… thanks seerd!!
I really have to recommend negative edge. Much less motion your had has to go through, easier to do on reaction.
How do you fight Guile’s zoning sonic booms with C Ken/Chun/Sagat? Are you just supposed to play a good footsie game? I can’t jump at him because of his cr.fierce or somersault so i’m guessing the only option is to go up front?
ken:
Hurricane kick over the sonic boom at the proper range, jump over it at the proper range, RC fireball, jump straight up, or just block and try to anticipate
chun:
wall jump, rc legs, rc fireball, jump straight up, etc
Sagat:
same as chun without the wall jump and rc legs
Those are all the things i do to try and get in, but i find it hardest to get in with ken. Sometimes it’s just smart to sit there build meter and just dodge the sonic booms till guile tries to walk forward.
Watch his hands and RAT right when hes about to throw the SB.
oooooooh good one…xbl tactics
Since i pretty much was the only guy seriously using C-Joe at EVO (or anywhere at that), and the Joe thread is pretty much dead, ill ask my question here.
I really dont know what to do against Blanka (especially A) with Joe. My main tactic of pissing opponents off by pecking away at them with RC Crazy Hands followed by either a throw, a poke, or a jab hurricane is risky against Blanka since his ass has better RCs that kill mine. Plus I do shit for damage when i do that crap, lol. Falling down sucks too cuz i either have to wake up RC Hands (risky option because of the risk of fucking up, losing 2000 life, and falling down again) or Alpha Counter. If i run away and throw hurricanes, RC Blanka Ball owns that shit for free. Bleh, no one uses RC Blanka where i play (lonely Central Texas) so i dont really know what to do. As for San Antonio, I only play against a P-groover and a K-groover. (Legendary Gokou and Ultimate Czar)
Another bad thing was that the first A-Blanka I faced in tourney was RF. I pissed him off when i beat his C-Honda, Sagat, Blanka team, so he loaded up A-Blanka, Sakura, Bison on the round after that. Blanka was R2…I was doomed! It was so bad i switched out Joe for Sagat.
My two other characters have options (C-Blanka is my user, and Honda is my anchor) and I know i have to work on my game/execution to stand a chance. But even so, can Joe do anything against A-Blanka? Or is choosing him just meter fodder for Blanka?
Yo, I’m no Choi or Daigo, but wait for the boom and then RC kick when Guile tries to hit you with a normal afterwards. Do RC Hadouken too close and you get backfisted to the face every time. Guile’s d.MK can be swept with your Ken d.HK. Aim for Guile’s limb, not his body. Properly timed j.HP can get you in on Guile. Shoryuken every time Guile jumps since it’s so free against C-groove and Guile doesn’t have that dangerous float jump that Chun and Bison have. Flash kick anti-airs can be airblocked and then punished hard with a combo. If you jump over Sonic Boom, you’re taking a guess. But sure, go for it. Any successful jump in --> d.LK, d.LK xx level 2 --> Guile’s dead while any anti-air Guile gets is just a 700 damage RC boom, 700 damage early d.HP, or a moderate but still low damage deep d.HP. Short hurricane or command roll goes under a boom from far away, but don’t do anything like that up close. RC kick is hands down the dominate move to use up close instead.
Above is my gameplan against good players. As for the rest, scrub tactic of d.MP, d.MP, roll behind can be thrown for free. Any attempt to randomly roll to get in gets punished by short, short xx super for free.
Which of the following can ONLY be parried low? Blanka’s c.fp? vega’s c.any punch? Sagat’s c.fp? Anything else thats practical that can only be parried low?
What kind of priority does Cammy over on opp. on wakeup in the corner if you’re spaming close range s.fp’s? Could it stop wakeup DP? Could it stop Charge moves? What frame advantages or disadvantges do I have on spamming close range s.fp’s? Would it be practical? I ask this because I’ve seen close range s.fp, close range s.fp, c.mk xx super. I’ve seen this connect before, but I want a general idea on how tight the frames are on wakeup.
My favorite sagat mixup to use to brake down gaurd meter is: j.lk, s.lp, s.lp, c.lk, c.lk, c.fp
Can you suggest something better for gaurd breaking?
How many frames does a person have from landing to crouching blocking? Example: Sagat jumps empty in front of an opp. so when he touches the ground, how many frames would Sagat be vunerable to low hits?
My Sagat s.fp, fierce dp doesn’t work. Any suggestions?
I got a thread with these questions along with some other comments. If you could answer it there, I’d much appreciate it.
I need a button combination I can press to consistently get Chang d.LP x 4 xx 8 hit Spin Ball on a crouching Sagat. Thanks.
Also, what’s the correct button input to get running Raging Demon with Akuma again? All I know is that if you hit f, f+LK, your LK won’t animate but rather cancel into the run animation. I saw the thread in Akuma forum already and also Choi was nice enough to explain to me over the weekend, but I was dumb and wasn’t paying attention. Something about having to hit stand jab when you’re at neutral or something. I’ve been trying d.MP (double tap LP during d.MP recovery), f, f+LK, (now running), HP to activate the demon. I haven’t been able to get this once though. Help please (from someone who can actually do this trick consistently). Thanks again.
you kind of answered yourself, but just to be clear…
do this:
c.strong(jabx2), f, f+lk and work on that until you can get the run w/o short consistantly.
i can get running demon 2-3 times in a row(after doing that training), and fail 50 times in a row after that…then i give up cuz it hurts my head.
i dont’ really know how to play akuma’s basic game so i don’t bother practicing much, but i’m sure it’s if you practice it like you did when you first learned RC elec, you’ll get it down one day.(or get mad and quit).
