Did you use the upback OS against Fei? Or were untechable knockdowns too rare for it to matter?
Tokido says he uses the upback OS against Bison.
It’s hard to use cause it’s a one time trick you should save. I also get hit out of the air with chicken wings most of the time
i fought that ryu player i was talking about. i didnt win but the difference between last time and this time was night and day. i feel like i have a shot at besting him now that i know how to play the match up at the proper level.

If I tested correctly, the OS doesn’t work if Fei wakes up with light or medium chicken wings

Ml why’re you in there twice? Also, do you think option selects and those super match up specifics…specifics you mention sometimes are invaluable to a bison player?

I’m wondering how critical you think option selects are for a bison player. Same thing about the intricate tricks like the empty dr on yun after a forward sk.

Option selects are important because it expands on all the damage bison can squeeze out of the match. Bison needs these otherwise he wouldn’t be scoring any damage at all.
The little specific things only matter at high levels when you realize that the basic options available to you aren’t enough to win a match up.
In other words, option selects then super smart shit later
When you play’d fuudo’s Fei Long. What would you consider the ways he got the most damage on you?
He gets almost all his damage after pushing me in the corner. If it’s midscreen it’s usually random stuff that hits me. The corner is where it’s at
I’m not sure if this already well known here but an OSed roundhouse on a safe jump-in on Fei leaves him with only the option to block or use ultra 2.
Any version of chicken wing done on his wake up will be counterhit for 138 dmg in AE. Backdashes will be hit for 80 or 110 I suppose…

If I recall correctly, wake up short chicken wing beats OS stand roundhouse
Just tested again to confirm, OS roundhouse beats all versions of reversal chicken wing on wakeup. All of them come with counterhit bonus
Edit: I forgot to add that, OS standing fierce works against all versions of chicken wing too…but it doesn’t work on his backdash.
How are you knocking down fei long in order to do the OS?
Atm I’m testing it off a fwd throw. I’d say safe jumps are only feasible on Fei after throws…even though throwing Fei is a feat in itself considering how fast his cr mp sticks out.
Hmm I’ll test it out again when I get home. I remember losing to wake up short chicken wing when I tested it. But oh well, let’s see what happens
Yeah definitely test it out too, just in case I made some mistakes along the way during testing.
I tested it with me playing Fei against a recorded OS Bison. I sure hope this OS works on your side because we do need everything we can get against the damn Fei matchup.
