Throw Abel in the corner, whiff cr.mk, j.hp.
i think its more about the fact the matchup is odd…seriously how often do u fight a makoto??? It’s just a lack of experience lol
I’ve been playing a lot of fei’s lately (probably because of the recent article) and I really don’t know how to approach the matchup… I find that up close, I don’t know how to deal with pokes and fei’s cr.hp can stuff scissors after one interval in at least ae… Further away, I’m not sure how to punish rekka’s and focussing gets me chicken winged… Oh, did I mention upflame fadc chicken wing? Heck, flamekick alone is ridiculous damage…
I find I can’t be aggressive at all, but at the same time I don’t know how to stuff or punish fei’s moves at all… Overheads and command grabs give me headaches… I feel like a sitting duck… How/What should I be baiting? How can I punish?
Fei’s cr hp can’t be done on reaction to scissor kick. If they are doing it to stuff it, then it is being done in anticipation. The move also has a ridiculous amount of recovery, so it is pretty easy to whiff punish. Sometimes the best bet after a blocked scissors is to just wait for a second and see what the other person is going to do.
Well in my case at least a lot more often that you might think…I would seriously say in super that the fight is dead even. In AE who knows.
Damn, Kim, how come you didn’t go to the Plaza Capcom Cup event?!?!?!
any tips on the juri match-up? for some reason i can never win against her, i cant apply my pressure and i cant get free from the pressure of good juri players, Thanks!
her pinwheels have 7 frame start up at best. why can’t you apply pressure? safe jump and frame trap the bitch to death. -4 on her lk pinwheel as well so it should be a free shortxscissor every time
Found an unblockable w/ bison today. Forward throw, walk a step, jump fierce punch. Works on Guile, Cammy and Guy. Usual deal with these setups:
-Wakeup holding left or right and you will get hit. Can be blocked if you do it on the very last frame possible (so basically, only if you’re the computer).
-Not meaty, so can be ducked (lame). Can also be dashed out of.
-Guy can beat it with reversal ex bushin kick. Cammy and guile can also reversal it if they know how.
I’ll probably bust out the new camcorder and upload a video tomorrow when it’s not 1:30 in the morning.
Cool I thought it was just a cross up check if OS st.mk tags them when they dash away.
Oh right… I have to tend to this thread. Ask me again if you’re really interested
So I’ll just say random stuff
Yun is dumb
After forward scissor kick you can do an immediate empty devils reverse to avoid wake up uppercut. So far I haven’t figured out a solid pattern to follow up on after I land scissors on Yun.
Makoto is dumb. All her moves anti air. I stand full screen away mashing on stand forward till time runs out. Trust me, mskotos have no problem chilling at the other side of the screen either
I didn’t go to the Capcom plaza tournament cause I didn’t know about it
Honestly I feel everyone isn’t as good as they can be . No one really gets match ups, they just want bp. And there’s nothing to aim for too.
Yang Yun makoto fei are dominating
So far I’m ok Vs fei and makoto. Yang isn’t that buff unless used by an above average Nigga.
I’ve also figured out no job + sf = success
The rock is back in the wwe
Steven seagle also taught me how to improve my front kick
Gsp gsp gsp gsp!
After forward
Gimme yo match up number now that AE’s out for two months so far.
And yes,
Finally…
FINALLY…
F I N A L L Y, the ROCK has come BACCCCCCKkkkkkkkkkkkk to Monday Night Rawwww
____ Vs Bison
Abel 6:4
Makoto 6:4
Yun 6.5:3.5
Yang 5:5 or 5.5:4.5
Fei 6:4, if you are a good player 5.5:4.5
Other characters ? Who cares you never seen them being played
Kim, if you catch someone trying to jump out of the corner, and if you manage to catch them with a j.MP, how do you follow it up? In the corner, I usually do a slide, or if I want to reset them, do a standing short.
Just a quick opinion on Psych0Sh0t’s question
S.HK = fast (6f), 110 dmg, reset with good frame advantage
Cr.HK = slow (15f), 100 dmg, hard knockdown with auto safejump against 4f+ strike reversals
I usually take what damage I can, in the corner if I think stand fierce won’t hit , I’ll use roundhouse . Sometimes I use low forward if I think nothing will reach in time.
There’s no crazy mix ups. You cam do like stand fierce cancel to jab psycho in the corner for a one time trick. But for the most part, juggle them with stand fierce , walk back a bit and let them suffer for a second about what you can do to them. You can then go for some pressure into scissors or let them wallow there a little more
but Kim…Stand Fierce, unless far, deals less damage than S.HK
in regular SSF4, Close HP and Standing HK deal the same, but HK is faster and easier to hit.
Oh really? I’ll try out roundhouse then. Just as long as they don’t get pushed back further
kim:
im in need of tips. i dont normally ask questions but seeing as you’d be an absolute expert in this MU…
im facing an extremely high level ryu player. how am i supposed to react to fireballs at close ranges? do i want to try to focus through them, or try to stuff them with s.forward? once i get meter he will never throw a fireball unless i break charge. do i just go for scissors to chip him a little bit and slowly increase life lead?
how is the match up “supposed” to be played? i typically go by feel but shit isn’t so cash against the guy im facing. do i want to get a small life lead and try to lame it out? play defensively? offensive?
im really only interested in kim’s insight on this match up.
everyone else:
how should i be fighting viper? what are some good tricks to keep the slut off me? should the MU be played lame or offensively? I usually play against her offensively but the second she gets on me it’s difficult for me to get her off. ive noticed that blocking until she’s done whatever bitch string is the best option because she has a lot of counter poke opportunities, but is there any way to scare her from pushing buttons like that? should i just tele away from every burn kick? can i be punished for it? also, how would i go about dealing with a defensive viper sitting on a life lead?
also off topic: where would i go to find out special attributes character moves have? this site: (http://www.sfframedata.com/walkthrough/pages/ssf4_intro.php) doesn’t list things like throw immunity, invincibility frames, float states and so forth.
Bison’s worst enemy is ryu’s jab fireball. You can’t do much about it. Your friend is definitely throwing this version. You have to be able figure out If the Ryu knows how to punish your focus the fireball dash up strat. Ryu beats bison in the end IMO because he can out wait bison then make him pay with some random bs.
To give you a simple answer, give up on the idea of reacting to ryu’s fireball when he’s upclose and throws it. You should have either stuck out a stand forward/roundhouse or just chose to block or jump straight up.
You answered your own question. If you end up chasing him and going for chip to get the lead, you’re going to end up losing that battle. Ryu wins that battle. So from the beginning it’s never quite worth it to be overly offensive till you get a meter or two.
Get meter without being predictable then have your friend chase you, then you got him right where you want him.
tell me how it goes
