Ask Kim1234 about random Bison sh*t!

stand roundhouse in anticipation to a jump. You got nothing on reaction to a dive kick except for
jump neutral roundhouse! try it out, but its kind of a guess. If they jump and dont dive kick, youre ass out. From what i can tell, anything you get obsesed with countering dive kicks… you lose

SUPERMAN THAT HOEEEEEEE

Thanks, Kim. Oh, and I agree with what you posted up on my wall concerning the knockdown against them or stay guessing and die. Yun gets one knockdown on Dictator, he just goes in and now the threat of command grab comes into play. Same with Makoto.

does Ex PC or Ex SK beat throws in AE???

Pretty sure their properties are the same. Trying to throw either ex pc or ex sk (isn’t this already throw invincible?) is never the opponents goal and, when it does happen, chances are it was by complete luck.

In that particular video, I don’t think Guy was trying to throw. It looks more like a st.fierce frame trap if anything.

EX-PC beginning frames are throwable until he’s off the ground.

To the few who have played AE, how has the Cammy MU changed? I can only assume she is easier to fight against because Bison is footsie king and Cammy lost a big chunk of her pressure game up close, but I could be wrong.

And what about honda? Does Bison still have to turtle as much or has the damage output difference been lowered to the point of making it worthwhile to take more risks?

Honda has been nerfed to hell. Big damage nerf, best jump-in neutered, delay between jab and hands, anti-air lp headbutt gone.

Cammy is probably nerfed to hell too considering she actually has to take risks now to get free pressure (like Cody). Cody’s frame traps are good, but one mistake and you can reversal through it. Or at the very least, it’s not safe chip OR free throw.

Damage nerf to Honda made Bison and Honda match up more bareable. You can hold onto a life lead easier because he doesn’t do absurd damage to take that away quickly.

Gief matchup, become better or worse in AE? Guessing worse due to even further limited AA options and lp spd buff.

Mmmm it’s a little worse. LK Knee Press push back gets you just out of his new LP SPD range if you’re going for the chain c.LK xx LK Knee Press. I use s.MK more for this match now up and make them respect the range. With or without the s.HK tip damage nerf, they’ll still find a way here and there to fish in some distance under the hit boxes or try to trade with lariat.

Ey Kim

been playing AE off and on for a couple weeks. i do passably considering my level of practice, but two characters that i get destroyed by: guile and honda.

guile:
when it’s footsie, i’ll focus through booms and get decently close, but he usually manages to get one more boom off. then i do standing mk or low mp to try to get frame advantage, but his standing mp comes out quicker and beats me. leading me back into the boom loop.

i have nothing non-ex that can beat his standing fierce anti-air. at best i have a few trades.

what is the strategy here?

honda fucks me up too. went up against a honda tonight in nakano that basically butt slammed all day. i would focus through ones i could see coming, and occasionally get some damage in, but some butt slams (on reversal?) armor break and the lack of a reliable wake-up on bison kept me pretty trapped. when i ported out, it didn’t help me much because unless i’m literally over honda doing j fierce, i can’t seem to hit him out of any of his butt slam shenanigans. if he misses me and i didn’t block it, i can scissor kick on the ground and knock him down but that’s about it.

i know honda got a little weaker in AE, but fuck if i can see it. getting raped, halp me.

Regarding guile, you can’t focus dash through his booms like you can vs shotos, unless you’re right in his face. You also cannot jump at him even if he throws a boom as your feet life off the ground because he’ll have enough time to c.fierce.

So turtle.

I always start my matches by absorbing and dodging SBs. While trying to build at least one bar. If they walk behind their SB, you can charge a FA, absorb the SB and release it to counter the obvious followup poke, but the timing can be tricky. You can jump back to keep your distance, or just block and be ready to react to an overhead once he gets close. His offense isn’t that impressive so blocking right should keep you out of danger for a while, but by that point he’ll obviously have chip lead. Once I get one meter, I attempt to EX PC as soon as he tries to walk behind his SB. Within midscreen range, it seems quite hard for guiles to react to it unless they expect it (but seeing you runaway for so long might lower their guard). If EX PC lands, dash in, meaty/cross-up, whatever, just try to put as much pressure as possible. If your pressure string ends with a block scissors, remember he can stuff the next SK with any poke or a sonic boom… If you feel psychic, try EX scissors to punish them for pushing a button. Otherwise, you can go back to running away. By that point on, you should have close to another meter, so Guile will be more warry of walking after their SBs when you’re sitting on your stock.

That’s the way I play the match and it yields me the most success. Expect the timer to run out, a lot.

At this range, you can also ex-scissors on reaction to sonic boom.

On reaction? Even high level Bison play doesn’t have that. If you react to that, accidentally reacting to a whiffed jab is entirely possible too wouldn’t it?

when you react you should be able to know what move their doing, not that they are just doing a move.

ehh kinda trolly, but thats what we do when we focus thro fb’s and hold back on ex fb’s

You guys kidding me? LP sonic boom is slow as hell. If you’re at st. mk range, it’s easy to react to them doing a sonic boom. And yes, I SEE the projectile come out and do ex-scissors to it.

I feel like I’m getting trolled.

Are you serious? Look, go into training mode and try it out yourself. Get closer than st. mk range (but obviously not so close that you can’t react to the boom). Record Guile doing sonic boom (you can even have him whiff normals so that you can see what to look for). See if you can A) react to it and B) hit Guile during his recovery. You should be able to do both.

Reacting and zoning with Bison’s normals aren’t the same. I have a feeling the lack of understanding is over the misuse of the word.

I feel like there’s a big misunderstanding.
I said you can reaction ex-scissors to a sonic boom. You said you don’t think you could. I explained how to do it (get in close enough that your ex-scissors will hit him before he recovers, which is around the range where the tip of your st. mk will hit). Then you’re trying to say something about zoning? I don’t really know zoning with Bison normals has to do with our conversation. I said have GUILE whiff normals so you can react ONLY to the Sonic Boom coming out, in which you can Ex-scissors as it is about to pass over you.
