The Mu Bang matchup according to C0R:
“This match seems good for Mu, her set ups are strong and the risk reward is steeply in her favor. Bang’s approach is good, but not good enough to tilt it in his favor”
The Mu Bang matchup according to me, to C0R:
“I agree, you outplayed me a lot though and that’s the reason you won”
I have problem with the last part of nezu’s 4 seal combo, after the gold burst to make the j.d hit after the 6d and I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong.
This… is an interesting topic.
However, if it does get more people into Blaz, that would be awesome :o
Unfortunately that’s a bit out of my league. I never had the time to learn that combo. I’m going to imagine it’s just raw timing, there may be a strong visual cue, but I wouldn’t know it. It’s a hard combo though, so expect to put in some time in the lab if you want to learn it
What do you know about bang vs plat, makoto and lambda?
Bang against Platinum is mostly about free approaches for Bang. If she doesn’t have bombs or missles, the Anail glide approach is very hard to stop, and Dnails works similarly. Once in, Bang has a strong advantage because she has no reversals without the bat. If she does have the bat, just try to bait it accordingly, it’s still worth it to be there. Hard knockdowns are really effective against her as well. Just be careful for her grounded pokes, they’re actually really strong, and make sure you play by her items. If she hits you in the corner, usually burst if the round matters to you.
Bang against Makoto is definitely harder. Her pokes are better than yours universally, except for 3C, which is high risk. Don’t be hesitant to use nails, but realize that Dnails are a bit iffy for approach because you still have to worry about her DP. If you do bait the DP though you get CH 6C, which is a lot if you know the combo. If makoto is playing really passively, consider bumpers. Really be careful for her anti air, you can’t bait it on reaction, but try a quick double jump to mess up her spacing so you can jC the whiff. Also Bang’s drives do not work well against a strong Makoto. It’s a hard matchup.
Bang against Lambda is pretty intuitive. Lambda is trying to keep you out, use your drive teleport, bumpers or nails to get in. The risk reward is generally in her favor, but Bang has so many strong approaches that this matchup is not particularly bad. Also, your hard knockdown is amazing against Lambda, just be really careful when she has 50 meter, because calamity sword is invincible and combos on counter hit. Be really patient in this matchup, her biggest strength is keeping you out.
Alright, I’ll bite.
What is your opinion on Rachel being a viable character? I mained in her CT, and absolutely loved her playstyle. I find myself struggling a lot with her in CSII. It’s not that I’m bad with her. It’s that I can’t seem to do any real damage or pressure no matter how hard I try. I tend to get blown up by Noel and Makoto on a regular basis. Any tips on how I can improve on certain match-ups?
Yeah, this is actually really easy. If you watch any high ranking Rachels featured on jourdal’s youtube channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/jourdal?blend=1&ob=5 , most play here is from top japanese arcades) you will be able to see examples of her pressure and damage. Her damage output and pressure both skyrocketed from the last version, so study up!
EDIT: Here’s a very recent video of a top Rachel, Matsu; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WqAHMjgrzPw&feature=channel_video_title
I appreciate the links, broseph. The ending of that first match made me touch myself.
I suppose it’s just me. I just can’t seem to find my groove in BBCS2 after playing AE, MvC2/3, MK9, 3SO, and ST so much.
Well if you copy that Rachel’s combos and set ups after the combos, surely your pressure will improve. Matsu is very solid, especially on offense.
My main problem with Platinum is her air normals. J.C has huge range and on counter I’m dead, and if I come from under her the j.B(?, the wings) beats me for free.
I’m also trying to make tiger knee super crush work as a threatening tool @ the neutral game vs various chars but so far it doesn’t go well.
Well, the mistake you’re making there is attempting to play air footsies where she is at her prime range. If you’re above (jC) or below (j4C) you will win air footsies. jB is risky against her, but with the right read you can make it work. Just recognize the risk reward on your jB compared to her jC is pretty bad.
TK Supercrash takes a lot of practice, and a good read. Keep working with it, and watch the ways Dora uses it, especially in what scenarios. You might notice Dora over-uses it in the Bang V Noel matchup, to really make Noel think about throwing the 2D. He also uses it at a range where her 4D won’t catch it.
Well what I really meant to say was how do you stick to a main. For me its hard to deal with the losing streaks which give me doubt. I was not really speaking about Bang, more about the ability to stick with it in general.
to do the fastest TK super crash 100 percent, start from 6, then roll the stick 360 but end at 3. so, 6321478963. you can do the same with command grab
Lol thanks LK. x_x
Also, good tip with the TK Crash, I hadn’t thought of posting that but it’s really important. You can also start with 3, for some reason. Makes it a little faster.
Hmm. Well, I really like playing the game. I think that’s important. If you don’t enjoy playing, even if you’re losing, it will be difficult or impossible to continue playing or improve. If you can’t see it as a challenge to get better, it will likely be impossible.
yeah guys seriously, cut the BS out with the retarded trolling and personal insults.
No infractions given out but if you don’t like the thread or just feel like trolling save it. This thread actually does give newer people or people that want to get deeper into the game an avenue to do it via this website.
I appreciate that, thanks.
How tough was the competition at Evo this year?
