yo strider, any advice on how to handle the pressure and do well in big tournaments? lol
as you know im goin to FR this march, its gonna be the first time for me to go to such a big event (well not counting stuff like Godsgarden/NSB … i assume the experience will be similar but not really the same – especially the hype level and the number of participants)
any tips? lol im not gonna get any chance like this anymore in the future, and so being one of the so called “japan rep” aint helpin the pressure too haha
maybe besides practicing(obvious), i should just focus on having a great time =D.

As for helping with tournament jitters…unfortunately there is no secret, best way to get over them is to pick up experience in a tournament setting.
If there is something useful I could say that would actually help…Learn how to ignore the crowd…

I watched Juicebox play against Latif’s Viper on stream last night. I know part of it is online lag giving Latif a bit of a mixup advantage, but Juicebox seemed really confused about his options on the wakeup mixup. Other than Abel’s damage vs. Viper’s health + Abel’s Oki, what is it in Abel’s game that makes the matchup 5-5? It seemed like every wakeup, Juicebox had to guess a 50/50 or worse, and other than random rolling, he didn’t seem to have great options against Viper. He resorted to doing wakeup Falling Sky to try and catch Latif’s ambiguous burn kick crossups, or he would EX Roll out of trouble, but once Juicebox was knocked down, he usually stayed down unless he burned a bar.
What could he have done on his wakeup to slow down Viper, other than guess right and either block or throw tech? Any good option selects that he didn’t use? I don’t think I saw him use any against Latif.
He probably could have used wake-up sac of some sort. But I’m not familiar with the match-up very well.
yeah, and do the ex cod by doing late qcf + release PP so that if viper crosses up, youll block it and no moves will come out
recognizing her jumps and ex rolling out can be good too
doing random falling sky on wake up vs viper? ehhh…
i think i have some videos where i beat tonpy viper last week, ill look it up… sure i get beat by him more but it helps to see how i played when i win too… imo
