Art's Hobbies - DIY Acrylic Cases

  1. Get this PCB Kit.
  2. Get these PCB feet
  3. Get this USB Pass-thru in Black or Silver
4.Get a short USB cable to run from PCB to internal connector of USB pass-thru.
  4. Get a long (4 meters or less) USB cable to connect to your console/PC.
  5. Order your joystick and buttons
  6. Order your TEK Case
  7. Install everything

Thanks jopamo. That’s basically what I needed to know. Does that PCB support a hit box style layout? Also I’m guessing I’ll need 16 total buttons? 4 for the directions, plus buttons for all the face and trigger buttons of a PS4 controller plus the triggers, L3 & R3, options/start, and touch pad/select?

The PCB kit designed for a joystick/buttons layout. I’m sure it will support a hitbox layout, but you’d need to create your own daisy-chain ground harness for the direction buttons.

How sturdy are the cases? I would assume they are somewhat durable…They just won’t survival constant stick throwing I assume

Don’t drop them or gorilla slam them during play and they’ll last. Metal and wood are king though (for reals)

Ok…That’s good to know…Thanks

After seeing all these amazing looking sticks I think I’m ready to purchase this case and using 3m vinyl on the outside to give it a different color.

My only question his how much does it weigh after building in It?

Anyone know if his site still sells that plexi covers?, in trying to get a plexi cover for my mad catz v.s. edition and seems hes the only one selling one =/

Tek-Innovations.com. Accept no substitutes.

Anyone know if he is still currently taking orders for cases or is the company dead because that’d honestly be a shame.

DELETED

He’s alive

And well (just really busy)

@jopamo what size tech flex did you use for your cable management?

I used two sizes: 1/4" and 3/8"

Could someone help?

It says:
NOTE If you intend to use weight slots, do not select a color here as the weight slot panels will replace this side panel. Select the color of the side panels in the weight slot section.

Where is the weight slot section?

Thanks!

They are a set of clear internal panels that assemble to the sides of the inside of the tek case–to form containers to house weights. This all ends up making the stick feel more substantial on your lap. Zinc-coated steel bb’s/pellets are recommended for those containers.

The assembly contains new side pieces that have six holes on each side to accommodate affixing the inner containers to the frame. I have them installed in my Tek cases

Afraid of a drop releasing a painful death to my cats and toddler (BB flood!), I’ve smooshed bunches of bb’s inside of blobs of modeling clay. Then I filled the containers with the modeling clay lumps. That all added about a 1.5 pounds to each stick. It’s much better than the original weight/feel.

Hi, Thanks for your reply!

But I mean, during the ordering process. That’s what it says. I don’t know where the weight slot options are. I do see it in the stand alone area. I am not sure if I order it in the stand alone area, I will get charged for the normal sides, and the weight slots (also receive the normal sides and weight slots), unless getting both is the norm, then I am good to go with that too.

Thanks!

Your case graphics are so sick btw!

Thanks a lot! To be honest, I can’t answer your question. Sorry for misunderstanding your question. Reason I can’t answer is due to the fact that I ordered the weight slot kits after the fact. From what I assume, you’d just add the config’d tek case to your cart, then add a weight slot set with the desired color to you cart as well. He’ll do the rest. Here’s the link to that item:

This is speculation, so don’t quote me on it. If need be, shoot Art an email at art@tek-innovations.com.
Just note that it might take a few days for him to get back to you. He’s a pretty busy guy.
