Without the red rim thingy the plexi sits a few cm smaller, but I don’t think it’s much of a problem though it would be cool if there was an extended plexi just so it fits perfectly.

Slight delay on Website
Hey Guys,
Had a little bit of extra work to take home so it looks like there’s a slight delay to my site’s reactivation. Hopefully it’s no more than just adding a couple days. I’ll update my site’s info soon as I get home. But while waiting, Here’s some results for you guys to see so you can ponder your own design =)
On top of my Dell Laptop to show it’s transparency
I did those etches in the background while working as it takes from 10 - 40min to etch. Obviously a full panel etch will take some time. They turned out very well, imo… much better looking in person. In certain angles the lighting really brings it out.
I’m going to give away this TE Chun Li cover etching, and probably a couple others, some time in the next week or two in some sort of Drawing that I’ll set up. =)

dude that shit is epic. like I said earlier, if you take one of those and add a nice simple gradient or well spaced background to compliment the etching, you’re gonna end up with some really nice sticks.
one question though, which side is the etching engraved into? I’m assuming it’s the bottom side, meaning it would be a reverse etch, then it looks normal when flip it over and view it from the topside. correct me if I’m wrong though.
now figure out how to produce them at an affordable price.

absolutely unreal. this is probably the first time i’ve really wished that my SE was a TE. I love the size and shape of the SE (and after i get my sanwa parts, I will love it even more) but damn, i want that laser etched Ryu… kudos.
It’s technically not Black n White only. It’s technically translucent white on top of whatever color pattern artwork you want =). I’ll try to get some gradient backgrounds printed to illustrate that point.
Lol, you and me both. I didn’t really know what to expect on the entire plexi as there are so many variables to play with. I did find a good setting to use and this turned out quite well =). Also found I need to invert the image into a negative image for it to turn out so nicely.
Thanks Dude, and you hit everything right on the spot. I was going to find some good gradient background samples to print and show. And you’re right, the etch is made on the bottom side so the image is flipped. This way the top remains completely smooth.
I was thinking of an etch size up to the Ryu size to be about $5-$6, and a full cover etch would be like $10-$12. I think that’s a good reasonable start to gauge what the workload will be. I don’t imagine too many people would go with the Full cover etch cuz most ppl prefer their logo/insignia and Gamertag. But I could be wrong =P

Sounds more then reasonable, I’ve heard stories of custom laser engraving and the price gouging that can be involved. ~$30 for a fully engraved & customized TE template sounds incredible. If I didn’t already love the way my sticks turned out with your blank plexi, I’d totally be scheming design ideas to take advantage of this service 
That full panel TE plexi is awesome!!! You don’t have to worry about the bezel color clashing with your art, and your artwork can be much larger! On top of that, I’ve scratched up the black plastic part around the bezel…but would be covered up with the full panel.

But while waiting, I have available the artwork templates for you to download. Pretty much sat in front of Kinkos last weekend to align my template to their main printers so these will give you more accurate prints alongside my plexi’s. Also includes the templates for the TE Extended and Full version and VSHG.
Simply go to my site and you’ll have the links to download. Also added some more images on various etchings and background art to show how you can combine the two together so you can get a head start on what you want to do =). Got a good Full Panel Vewlix artwork made so you can see how that turned out =).
