Art's Hobbies Big Update! 1/32" Acrylic, V.S., Pro, Qanba, HRAP V3/VX, Custom Art Dustwashers

Going to put this here since art is posting: does anyone else have a small “pinching” in the upper left where the turbo/home box is? Looks like something is a little short and it raises the plexi just a little around that box.

Here is my stick:

This is the small area of protrusion:

I’m a photo noob with an SLR. Tips would be appreciated.

@Omega_Ox, Silentrage03, Milkham: Yeah, thats a 360 devkit, I took the picture at work.

@Arthong: It’s just some generic Ikaruga art I found on the net.

Makes for very simple but nice art on the TE stick with the default white and dark hai buttons (and a painted black bezel).

I still can’t find South Korea in the shipping option.
Modify it quickly please.

Thank you.
Have a nice day.

thx silentrage
am i able to juststraight swape TE sanwa 30mm button with semitsu transparent button??

Super straight swap.
100% no problems.

You may have to shave a bit off the Nut of Seimitsu PS-14-KN though.
That is because the Mounting Bracket will get in way of the Nut.

But people say not need to.
Just place the Nut and hold in place, while you spin the Button in place.
So instead of securing Button by turning Nut, you turn Button instead.

Well here’s my two. I redid my TE with updated Morrigan art and purple buttons, and my HRAP EX3 is now emblazoned with Cammy. Arthong, thanks so much for making a beautiful addition to these sticks. Easy installation, and perfect when screwed in. I’ll be definitely buying more of them.

hi, one more question
is TE use Sanwa LB-35 Joystick Ball Top???
i want buy other colors for my Sanwa ball

Yes, your Mad Catz Street Fighter IV TE, which use Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT-SK, has Sanwa LB-35-W.
So JLF-TP-8YT-SK-W.

Yes, you can replace your White Ball Top with any Sanwa LB-35.
Just off and on.

Seimitsu LB-35 work also.
For other coolness, Seimitsu LB-39 fits too.

Any 35mm Ball Top will fit.

it was pretty easy on the art i used because it was all solid colors, i’d suggest playing around with the color replacement tool in photoshop.

I got my plexi in about a week ago, and installed it recently and it is awesome. One 8 button layout for TE, and one for a HRAPEX. I have to say that they totally change the look of the sticks. Although I did a horrible job with the cutting (will probably contact arthong to print/cut out some new artwork for me… any discounts for multiple art prints+cuts? ;D ) the sticks still look amazing. Once I get some new art print+cut for me I’ll definitely be posting pics.

One thing that I really liked about the plexi is the way it changed the feel of the buttons on my TE. Previously when comparing the sanwa’s on my TE to the sanwas on my HRAP, the TE buttons felt a bit “mushy” in comparison. The hrap had a nicer click to them when struck, which I liked. After installing the plexi on the TE, the buttons no longer have that mushy feel to them, and both have an identical sound when struck.

Thanks again, will be looking into using your service again in the next week or so.

yes you should be able too just as long as they’re 30mm, the buttons at the front are 24 mm(start-back)

I recently placed an order for a piece of plexi and custom graphic from Art for my TE and I have to say it was an easy and enjoyable process. I originally sent an image in that I kinda knew would be too small Art went ahead and re sized it and made the template and e-mailed it over to me to make sure it was exactly what I wanted. It ended up not being what I had in mind so I sent him an e-mail back with a different graphic and in 3 days I had my package in hand.

The cuts on the graphic and the plexi are perfect. If you are thinking about getting this service stop thinking about it and do it. Art takes such care in everything from the plexi to the graphics to the shipping, it’s like getting a package from your mom… your mom who cuts plexi and plays video games… wait what?

Thanks again!

Hmm… That’s odd. I wonder why that is?

Because the aluminum by itself is softer, with plexi on there it fortifies the resistance and the sound made is much more solid.

Hey I ended up with the same graphic on my homemade joystick. LOL

Wow that’s a good home made. How long does it take to build something like that?

I’m on it! Thanks again!

While everyone’s pointing out the Dev Kit, I can’t help but notice the Jar of Gummi Worms instead…

That’s the Agetec one right? If someone can give me an accurate trace of their panel, I can put it in my queue to work on.

But as for good resources for cutting plexi, try checking out local plastic shops in your area and see what they offer. But the “average” solution places offer can be a little costly just for one piece. Like if you want to setup a Laser cut template, they may charge you a setup fee, and additionally a designer’s fee to draw out your panel. If you have your own panel outline in Corel Draw, Illustrator, or a CAD program, you can eliminate the designer cost.
But just an idea, something like that might be like a $100 setup, and $25-$50/hr for the design. Then whatever the cost is for the plexi. So you can use these average costs to shop around.

And then there’s the trading outlet to see who can do it for cheaper.
Or I get a traced pattern, or better yet, the panel itself, and find some time to work on it =). But currently trying to finish up the VSHG cover on spare time and then test out the SE prototype. So it may not be for a few weeks =P.

Depending on how much the “raise” is, it can be considered normal. Mainly that particular area of the plexi is the weakest. It’s the thinnest part, and the screws aren’t exactly close enough for a super tight bolt down. Also, the screw holes are made a little bigger to help against any variances, so one thing you may try to do is unscrew the screws and put one at a time while keeping that turbo area flattened. It’s possible the plexi might be nudged a tiny bit more in one direction, causing minor stress that could prop it up a little. And of course, check to make sure the sides of the turbo area of the plexi isn’t on top of the turbo box itself. See if any of those suggestions make a change. But either case, a tiny bit of a popup is still possible. If it’s protruding TOO much, then it’s something to look into.

Ooooh, very nice. Subtle, yet enticing.

Added! Thanks!

Excellent! And very nice color scheme!

Thanks again! Email me for potential discounts. It really depends on the labor involved to make the cut. If I have to follow a very specific pattern, it takes longer, etc. And looking forward to working with you again =).

Wow, when it’s put together it looks like you’re playing on an expensive painting you took from an Asian museum, lol. Thanks again bud!

I concur with Rhue, that’s a very well made stick. Gouken rulez!
