Art of Fighting Anthology Shipped today

So, has anyone seen this in downtown Toronto now? I don’t wanna go down and then find it’s not there, lol.

I use to see it in squareone at walmart but they no longer carry a copy there anymore.

I did not see game shack carry it nor did I see game center carry it either.

By the way I notice that game center near yonge and bloor has the best prices for new released games. IT’s usually 5 dollars less that the competition.

The one place I have not tried was EB in eaton center. They had a copy in EB at square one so maybe the eaton center branch might have one too.

It’s surprisingly rare and yet metal slug anthology is not. Go figure.

I checked EB in eatons around when it first came out and they didn’t have it. Maybe I should check again.

Wow. I had no idea of how dangerous this game could be.

And, here I thought Ryo was weak because his moves were so punishable. So, it’s basically do or die. You better connect with your launcher, or you will be blocked and launched yourself.

I don’t know, AOF3 looks like it could be pretty fun against another player if you both understand the system. I mean, what I just described basically describes Tekken 5.

And if people can play the heck out of Tekken…well…

I actually learned something new in that vid, I didn’t know that you could otg people with robert’s and ryo’s fireballs.

I finally secured my copy. The manager of my local EB pulled a favor and same-day shipped a copy from a store 45 miles away for me.

Someone stated beofer that what is missing in art of fighting is a practice mode. I agree. I am recently playing KOF 2002 and the practice mode helps alot. I especially like how SNK allows us to program situations to practice on.

I know one thing, I just loves my King.

AOF2 has some of the most interesting/funny/just plain good smack talk between the opponents. The writers/translators rule in this aspect.

Takuma to Eiji: “Ryo told me all about you. (dramatic pause) I fell asleep, though.”

Incinerated!

Cool, you are right. I’ll try to use this to ‘sell’ the game again to potential players to get some comp going.

That and the fact that there is no skill/move list: the one major drawback of these NeoGeo collections.

I’m very dissapointed with SNKP on this fact.

lol…pwnt

well for some reason in the instruction manuel they purposely do not tell you all the moves.

Did anyone find some moves that was not listed?

Well I just got the game, and I can say that AOF 3 alone was worth the $15 IMO. I was gladly surprised that SNK respected de orginal 240p resolution of the games, since I have my ps2 connected to a CRT TV I appreciate that, what grabs my attention is that they still added filtering options wich I thought were useful mainly when they interlace (480i) this old games to hide pixelation, but anyway I leave the filter turned off, I guess it may be useful on a HDTV.

I hope that “Fatal Fury Battle Archives” is also on the arcade like 240p, and better yet I want it at $15!!

I heard there is a way to defeat king where she loses her shirt. How do you do that? Anyone know?

I think you just have to beat her using one of the super moves.

Just finish her with a special or super.

It was quite dramatic seeing that for the first time as a wee child almost 2 decades ago. :looney:

Forgot this thread existed, made another thread, and got rightfully owned for it.

Anyway…

Can’t say anything that hasn’t been said already: AOF 1 & 2 are f’ing garbage with their choppy-ass controls, though I love the hell out of the character designs and actually played through AOF 1 with Ryo just because the characters are so engaging.

AOF 3 is pretty fun (though I wish we could have had Yuri, King, Takuma, etc instead of Wang, Rody & Jin. Kasumi can stay though.)

In terms of SNK support though, I own:
KOF 95 for Gameboy
KOF 99 for PS
KOF 00/01 and 02/03
KOF 06
Metal Slug Anthology (which is fucking godlike)
and now… Art of Fighting Anthology.
(also Fatal Fury 2 & Samurai Shodown for SNES)

GIVE ME MY FUCKING FATAL FURY COLLECTION AND KOFXI RIGHT NOW, SNK!!!

Wait…

I’m pointing my finger in the wrong direction. It’s not SNK’s fault for not wanting to bring these games out here, it’s Sony’s fault for decreeing 2D Graphics = teh suck and refusing to release a 2D game (by itself). Fuck you and your Five Hundred and Ninety Nine US Dollars Kaz Hirai!!!

BBCampbell you live in California right? I hope you know I am throwing a SNK Major event at EVO West next weekend…

Thanks for the invite, but my scrubby skills aren’t good enough for EVO. Never even been to one.

I just enjoy the games.

I dunno though, I think my KOF 06 and 98 skills aren’t too bad…

Holy shit! I gotta pick that one up!!!
