I’ve turned “you got yourself a stew” into catch phrase at home.
:u: no hotlinking allowed, maybe you don’t have enough RAM!
I’m still waiting for this thing to come out. http://arresteddevelopmentdoc.com/ they’ve got some interviews with some of the cast from AD, it looks like it’ll be good when it finally finishes.
King 6300 dollar suit!
I hope I never play these episodes out, which is why I sparingly watch them.
“Stop licking my hand, you horse’s ass!”
LoL.
I don’t think that’s possible. I’ve easily ran through the entire show 10-15 times now and I never get sick of it.
I want to rewatch the entire series again, but I wish to do it with a bunch of AD fiends like me so we can all collectively orgasm at every scene.
I wish I had some AD friends also…mostly it’s just me and my wife that love it. I mean, my wife doesn’t even come close to my obsession with it, but she still loves it. This guy I work with LOVED it when I let him borrow my disks, but he still needs to do a second run through…the first is funny, the second is godly…
Maybe me.
I’ve seen the whole series around 10-15 times as well. It’s too hard not to laugh or even chuckle at what goes on STILL. Jokes that aren’t even dialogue. For instance, when George Sr. is explaining to his family that they’re going to have a mock trial, he says something like “It’ll be a dry run” and the camera goes to Tobias really quickly. I think that’s a call back to season 1 where Tobias says: “I’m afraid I prematurely shot my wad on what was supposed to be a dry run, if you will. So now I have something of a mess on my hands.”
Exactly! There are so many jokes you would just plain miss, even on your 10th time through…I have yet to watch a run and not find some new gag I missed the first time…
I have a question, maybe you can help:
There is an episode where Linsday and Michael are talking about “GIrls with Low Self Esteem” and Lindsay says “We should do that to guys!”, shortly thereafter Tobias pops his out from under the chimney and says “That’s a great idea, this is ripe for parody!” I could never understand what he was doing there. I feel like I missed something.
Also, here’s a joke that took me a while to get. I had to google it in order to see what “they did there”.
So in the 3rd season when they had Andy Richter on, Lucielle was talking to an old woman at the country club. This took place after Andy Richter said that he’d sing a song at the fundraiser. The scene started off with Lucielle saying “His name is Andy something, a song and dance man…I think he’s Ed Mcmahon’s son or something” … So then the scene moves along and GOB and Lucielle had that awkward moment, the old lady said “Well! I sure hope that that’s not the type of humor Andy McMahon is going to do!” Anyway, so it turns out that Andy Mcmahon is a real singer/songwriter: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_McMahon | I don’t know if I’m looking too into the joke/situation, but whenever I do that, i usually find something funny that I had to think about in order to understand. It’s not like they DON’T do that often.
rewatching season 2 this week.
I can’t believe watching it this many times, there is still jokes that I am hearing or getting for the very first time. It also surprises me how many little hints to foreshadowing is used. Like in season 2 episode 1, they are talking in the living room about something, but the TV in the background, you hear jon beard talking about a man being attacked by a seal. This is way before busters hand, and also before Job even mentioned losing the seal because of the cat incident.
And I also noticed for the first time that Tobias was depressed and found the blue man group which happened to be the “blue man group”. Then in a future episode, they use the EXACT same joke, but vice versa. He was looking for the “blue man group” but ended up in a blue man group of depressed people and said the same quote “I feel like such an ass”
I have some friends that don’t think this show is funny at all… Maybe I shouldn’t call them friends anymore…
I was watching the episode when Buster uses his ‘new found crane skills’ and drops Gob with his banana suit.
Me and my wife have been doing the Lucille Bluth wink a lot recently…
Maybe it’s because they didn’t watch it from the beginning. I have some friends who judged the show based on a random episode they caught one day. Obviously you’re not going to understand what’s going on.
Im happy they started playing this show on IFC. Ive been recording them all on the dvr. I just wish that when they play like 5 or 6 episodes in a row that they would play them in order.
Love this show. I just started going through my second time and currently on season 3. There are alot of things that i missed before, or maybe i just i dont remember. Like during the episode with the ‘Mother-Boy’ contest. Buster and Micheal try to save George-Micheal and they called it ‘Operation Hot Mother’…a few episodes later where Maeby is working the studio, she has a script in her hand with the titled ‘Operation Hot Mother’. Also recognizing more people that i didnt know where in the show.
ya’ll should check out Running Wilde, stars GOB and created by Mitch Hurwitz and Will Arnett. it def has AD sensibilities. absurd premise but it shows promise. i watched it without knowing Mitch was involved, nice surprise.
catch it before it gets cancelled…
What makes it my favorite show is that I’ve wached every episode at least a a few times and I honestly learn a new in joke or reference or running gaga every time, it’s like the Heavy Rain of shows.
100% QFT, everytime i watch an episode, i catch something new and its like watching it for the first time
