If this law goes national, it will destroy more families than people think. There are cases were people’s visa expire and they get caught with some weed or speeding and they are gone - deported immediately with no time to even say good bye to their kids. They spend thousands of dollars and a decade trying to get back in, but they are not going to unless they go the illegal route. Marriage doesn’t mean anything anymore either because the Bush administration were doing their thang in 2001 I think. Now if they randomly start checking people this will be an amazing site to see.
You have a point there. I have a friend who is a teacher and she says the number of kids in her class have more than doubled in the last 10 years and a lot of the kids are the offspring of illegals. It goes without saying that the quality of education has dropped, but to make matters worse, teachers here are under more stress working under the constant threat of losing their jobs if student performance isn’t improved.
Tell me how that’s possible when your school is overcrowded, underfunded, under staffed, and half of the students barely speak English.

@Weeks: Well, if it’s designed to catch illegal immigrants on the basis of them being illegal and not with most of the problems being with mexican immigrants, then I would think the targeting should include all of them.
