I got destroyed by a yun player in endless around 6 or 7 losses in a row…and I keep getting owned by Gen, i mean seriously I don’t know what to do against him. And it’s the same for a lot of matchups. My lack of matchup knowledge really destroys me and I don’t know how to learn my matchups which frustrates me even more.
edit: After watching some of my replies, I notice that I get hit by A LOT of focus attacks. Anyone want to recommend what I should do?
Try not getting hit by them? 
How are they hitting you with Focus Attacks?
They just charging a level 2 and releasing it near you, you try to run and get hit by it? Best way to deal with this is c.MK xx Shou, eat straight through it, if they back dash then you whiff the c.MK and no harm done. It’s pretty hard to do in time though, you kinda need to be looking out for them.
Getting Lv3’d on wake-up? Simply back dash or EX Shou if you have enough meter to FADC just in case (though it should catch them back dashing, depends on character I suppose).
Getting your jump-in focused then hit on landing? Empty jump throw. If you find you’ve already stuck a limb out EX Shou on landing will eat clean through it or simply block if have no meter, might even be able to back dash if quick enough.
The key is keeping a cool head, it’s something I don’t have so I often get flustered and caught by them as well. Also try to spot patterns, most people just have one way they use Focus Attacks. Nubs will generally always do Level 3 and not even dash cancel, then there’s the nubs that try baiting nubs with constant FA back dash cancelling, etc.
Gen should not be a hard match-up for Sakura. I play a really good Gen player and I feel the match is heavily in Sakura’s favor (so much so that I can scrub a few wins of him).
He has better range but his footsie normals are slow. Learn how to block his dive kicks and punish. Also abuse his lack of reversal.

I have another question about using cr.mk and buffering mp shou with Sakura. I understand you should do it when you think they’ll put out a move and get hit by it or walk into it. I was trying to do it in training mode but even when my cr.mk whiffed the mp shou came out anyway… am I not buffering correctly? what am I missing here… thanks.

I got online with Sakura and played my way up to C rank and I was doing decent with Sagats and Balrogs but I took a break and when I came back all hell broke loose. My PP is at 501 a and my BP is at 1350. I go on ranked matches and all I get are D class players or new players with no points, and most of the time I lose to them. I lose non stop now in days. Its like I used to spam with a drop kick into a shouken and repeated that when the player stood up, but now that I have grown as a player and try to make smart moves but I get smoked by spamming ryus and kens. I have broken three controllers due to the frustration of losing 20-30 times in a row.

It’s part of the growing process. Keep at it. And calm down; it’s easy to get frustrated but you gotta have fun with it.
It’s hard to have fun when you’re constantly losing, nothing you try works, everything goes wrong, can’t even successfully mash out a reversal properly, so disheartening

That’s true but at the end of the day, this is a hobby. I’ve had my share of saltiness/rage though.

After a long while of not playing her and trying to relearn her as an alt, I think I am now in the running for the dubious honor in the thread title.
I am dropping the ye olde EX shippucakes to dash to Ultra 1 combo like a champ. And I thought my ineptitude with Juri divekick to Ultra 2 was bad. :lol: :sad:
I only somewhat get by playing defensively and pokingly a la SFA3/older games Sakura. It would be great if she had V-ism/A-groove in this Hey, the twins have their custom combo supers, so it would only be fair.

Sometimes when playing against those, why pressure at all?
block and punish ^^ and or do something random too.
Most times focussing on solid poking instead of combos works for me.
Since i sold my Xbox some time ago, i started training in Vanilla again 
AE sakura feels so much better in that regard.
