I keep getting owned by charge characters. Seriously, what the hell do I do against chun li and blanka?
Blah. I’ve had this game since vanilla and I feel like I’ve hardly improved. I keep losing on stupid stuff, endless or ranked. I can tell what other people are doing wrong when they lose, but when I’m playing I play on instinct, and my instincts are bad. Oh well. Forever a scrub!

Fuck!.. Yesterday afternoon I was doing pretty well in ranked, then a few hours later in the evening I started playing like I forgot how to play…Ass footises, autopilot, no AA, pathetic punishes, no cr mk xx shou, screwed up timing for links…and even forgetting how to block cross ups…
I get shutdown by characters with good pokes… I don’t know what to do anymore… if I get outpoked I end up resorting to focuses and jumping…which is even worse. I won’t even know what to do anymore.
I GOT RAPED SO BAD TODAY. Yes like AOS today it’s as if I just forgot everything I knew about sakura. I lost like 10 matches in a row and even lost to a 300 PP ryu. after that i pretty much lost it. WHY IS IT SO HARD TO WIN WITH SAKURA? I can not win consistantly but at the same time i don’t want to use anyone else. I go into training mode for at least an hour to practice links before going online and i still drop combos. If i ever get into the tourny scene i dont know if ill get too far with my sakura.
I think im too hard on myself. i try to win every match so i can get good enough to go to tournys. I still have a lot to learn…
playing online means dropping combos… Just imagine there’s a little gremlin in your DSL/Cable line that finds your links and breaks them… That’s his only job and hes very good at it.
That and stealing the bandwidth to watch little gremlin pornography.
I learned to use Sak in match ups with simple combos first cos my execution is so bad and with lag I’m useless.
If you are playing online don’t try to tatsu loops or hp shou fadc > unless its 4 bars or you have some mix up in mind.
Stick to hadoken and ex shou fadc combos online for best combo results.
As for the rest its just spacing, baiting and punishing. Or you can rush down but more likely you’ll lose BP and PP rushing down a random on ranked. Save it for Endless.
I’m going to find that gremlin, and I’m going to squeeze it until it dies.
Also, I can get tatsu cr lk xx tatsu once in a while on a 3 bar, of course without plinking.

Story Of My 2nd Offline Event

Just came from the 2vs2 tournament. It was a great day. My execution was really bad due to using the new PS2 pad which has stiff buttons because its not worn in like my PS3 pad.
There were too other Sak players there but they got more to work on than even I have.
Anyway, there was no lag on this ps2 to xbox360 adaptor and pad so I could at least do some stuff unlike with my old XCM adaptor.
I found it really hard to tech throws though for some reason.
Anyway, my partner was BonusJin and he was using Rose. I was locked in as Sakura. The way it works is for a team to play another team and the first team to beat the other 2 out of 3 times goes through. You can’t change character.
I made it to the semi finals with BonusJin but he literally carried me there because I only won 3 or 4 fights and lost about 6.
The ones I did lose were close but due to bad execution I couldn’t get there. I did make a few genuine mistakes though as I usually do.
In the casuals I played a bison who was on 17 wins and he perfected me. Next match I perfected him back but still lost.
My next casual match was another Bison and I lost again lol.
Then I played a balrog / dudley and lost some more. LOL.
Then it was time for tournament to start and I beat a good Ken but then lost to Ryu due to bad reads. He didn’t land ultra on me and I was winning but then I made mistakes and didn’t tech throws so ended up losing.
My Rose partner BonusJin didn’t lose except once. He is the reason we made the semis because I would play first since I was the weaker player (we played online last week and he beat me 15-0) and then if I lost he would clean up.
He lost to a Blanka and I lost to the Blanka aswell. I lost 2-1.
I also lost to a Guy and a Cody in the tournament before semi finals and another Ryu lol. I lost all of them 2-1.
I beat a Guile player 2-0. My only 2-0 win in the tournament.
Just before semis I beat a Honda and then lost to the same honda on the rematch. I was zoning good but dropped combos and didn’t get ultra and other things and then he ended up mixing me up and winning. He was good with jab xx hands too. Always walking forward.
Anyway, then Tekken 6 had their finals. Bonusjin was playing in the Tekken 6 tournament too and placed top 8.
Meantime I did more casuals with a decent Akuma. I beat him 7-0.
Then a great Cammy and we went 2-2 then it was time for semi finals.
I played against another Balrog and got blown up. My execution went down hill again. It got better during the akuma fights but it went again. Anyway the Rog was way better than me. He had great mix ups and combos and the few chances I had my execution messed up.
Then BonusJin played him and it was close but random ultra from rog beat him.
Then I played the Rog again and managed to take a round this time but I embarrassed myself with a random ultra that whiffed while under pressure. I didn’t even mash it. In all the games I played I only mashed ex shouoken twice lol. I was playing much more solid than I usually do using footsies and stuff and not doing random moves too much (except that one random ultra).
Anyway, so I lost yet again and then BonusJin won and had to play Rog’s partner who is meant to be the UK’s best El Fuerte (that elf was amazing I saw him play many games!).
BonusJin lost 2-1 to elf and we were out.
We tied 3rd place with the other team that lost in semis.
I recorded a few matches of BonusJin but he only got 2 of mine I think since he always went to play his Tekken fights while I fought tournament matches and casuals. My good wins never got recorded. He was only ever around when I lost lol. Oh well.
NeoEmpire.com will upload all the semis onwards so you’ll all see how I was easily the worst player in the semis. I still would have been the worst on my PS3 pad cos those guys were really strong.
It was fun though. Everybody was really good. I did not play a single noob (though I saw 2 or 3 who seemed a bit newer to the game or maybe they were just using alts in those Casuals).
I’ve been getting annoyed lately. Sakura’s the only character I consitently drop combos with. It’s not even hard combos, it’s stuff like cr. lk, cr. lp, cr. hp, ex tatsu. I’m not saying I’m an execution God or anything, but I hardly ever drop combos with anyone else. It’s frustrating as hell.
Just found out, painfully i might add, that empty jump cr.lk, cr.lp, st.lp whiffs on a crouching sim (he mashed super, his words, and won). I’ve seen it whiff on rose as well. Don’t be a noob, learn from MY noob mistakes. :shake:
I hate it when I do the simple hit-confirm of c.LK>c.LP>c.HP xx EX Tatsu and the Tatsu whiffs… It happens to me a lot when I go against Blanka’s and Gouki’s. Such a waste of bar and sometimes I get hit by someone mashing out reversals.
I was on a losing streak in ranked and lost like 500-600 PP and I was doing stupid stuff I shouldn’t have been doing
it took me this long to realize I can’t do cr mk xx shou consisently facing left… My fingers aren’t coordinated…
Instead of :d::mk::db::l::db::d::db::hp: I’m doing :qcb::mk::db::d::db::hp: or :d::mk::l::db::d::db::hp::mk:(negative edge)
I went on a horrible losing streak and landed on an abysmal 350 PP LOL
now back up to 750
Started playing some endless and I’m doing alright but something is off. Can’t even get cr. mk to link off cr. lp sometimes. Then I run into a Rose player and beat him 4 straight but with each round I’m getting more annoyed chasing him/her all over the screen. Next three matches, I’m so pissed I’m jumping straight at him knowing he’ll cr. hp me and I get hit by U2 4 out 6 rounds. Needless to say, I go on to lose 3 straight games.
Wow, I’m seriously ready to punch a wall right now.
I lost 100PP to someone who kept doing DPs because I forgot that I had my buttons set up for a different controller so I couldnt punish with a combo, it was like playing left handed.
