Are colors too much of a grind fest?

i just used one of those. i’ll let this thread know if i get banned. i don’t really care if it happens.

EDIT
did it offline so no FM/XP gained

While b. HP into spinning bird is possible I’ve seen it do walk forward b. HP kikoken which isn’t possible.

I’m less upset about colors as I am about all that fightmoney that’s locked behind those stupid survival difficulties. Hell gives you FM, too, right?

That exists…?hm…[…gamefaqs that shit]

i should mention i used it offline so i didn’t get any FM/EXP, just colors.

It would be pretty ridiculous to get banned for cheating in offline singleplayer content

If you’re on PC, there’s a trainer by FLING out that allows inf. health and one hit k.o.'s

ohh that’s a bitch then. Damn so it’s either get that fm from leveling up or get purple/white drink necalli.
I might actually skip that for a while, I might actually deal withthe salt if that’s the case cuz that is probably 6 dlc characters.

That isn’t charge partitioning. That’s a normal thing you can do in any game with any charge move.

Finally beat survival hard with Laura when RNGesus smiled upon me and gave me enough HP recoveries to stay at full life for the last few fights. I don’t even give a fuck that I didn’t get any fight money, I’m just happy that I can now use the colors I wanted.

This shit is so retarded on hard whit M.Bison. Not only its a total RNG fest that wastes A LOT of time but it can actually make you worst vs real people if you play long enough because this mode forces you to play like a moron.Worst mode ever. Add a continue ffs.

I agree to a point. Having ONE colour locked behind a really grindy or difficult task would be neat. When you see that one colour on Ken you go “Oh wow, this guy freaking loves him some Ken.” But at the same time it’s a weird mind game - are they actually good, though? AI doesn’t fight like real players. Hmmm. Is this dude just gonna jump? Is he an uppercut monster? I don’t even.

Locking a bunch of colours behind it is needlessly limiting/punishing, though.

Yes. It is too much of a grind.

I’m beginning to think it’s impossible to beat survival hard mode with Birdie. I got up to 43 and that was it. I regularly die somewhere in the 30’s. I’ve spent like 3 days attempting to beat it and nothing. You don’t even get any fight money for your failed attempts. The AI is just too ridiculous. I might have to wait until they tweak the AI, which I’m 100% sure they will.

The supplements are also stupid. Why even have the stun/double down/etc.? You only need the health/attack/defense supplements

Your post so exactly mirrors my experience that it’s like I wrote it myself. I have been trying for hours every day, and I have reached stage 43 (ironically, Birdie) three times, but not past it, usually losing in the 30s. I have looked for any sort of strategies or videos, but have found no evidence of anyone beating Hard with Birdie.

I have seen a few videos of Ryu/Ken beating Hard by spamming DPs that the CPU very rarely punishes, a Nash video where the CPU will sit full screen and block sonic booms until time runs out, and one M.Bison video where he manages to get a lot of damage from comboing off of Bison’s cross-up MK that the CPU loves to eat. Of course, in every one of those videos, they still have to get lucky on health supplements at the right times. I have read that Chun Li can abuse her V Skill because the CPU seems to not treat it as a normal jump-in and does not AA it consistently. I have yet to see a video of this, though.

Everything I’ve seen abused in videos to complete Hard mode (Invincible DP abuse, repeated fullscreen fireballs, high mobility+crossups) cannot be applied to Birdie. I cannot recall ever being this frustrated at a video game; It’s like some psychological experiment being performed by Capcom.

I never said it was charge partioning. I didn’t make the video.

It’s possible, I did it. It took me about 20 tries with probably 12 of them ending in the early 40’s. The third time I faced level 45 Zangief I was able to defeat him and all the subsequent opponents. You face Birdie again in round 47ish, btw. You definitely have to get lucky with your supplements. Sometimes I would take the defense 3 or the attack power 3 over the health if it was only a low. I was only a few pixels from death against Necalli on round 50 when I won. I probably would have took a hammer to my PS4 if I lost on round 50.

What I did for most of the opponents after 40 or so is always start with EX bullhorn charged. Don’t just launch it on go but when the cpu starts to come toward you or uses a projectile attack, let it rip. If it hits then jump in for a crossup attack/combo. Crossups seem to work pretty well against most of the cast because they’ll use the wrong anti-air and get stuffed. If the crossup is blocked or I’m hit out of it I’ll back off and use LK hanging chain while keeping a safe enough distance to not get hit by a jump in. Sometimes, if they were blocking the chain too much I would charge EX bullhead again and try to preemptively beat one of their attacks. Once the hanging chain (or EX bullhorn) hits, start the jump crossup shenanigans again. Against level 45 Zangief I don’t bother with the EX bullhorn (he can spd on block) and instead just try to grab him with LK chain into crossup attack. If you have attack up 3 it doesn’t take much to finish off an opponent. Also, crouching LP is a nice poke to finish off an opponent if they’re near death.

Unfortunately, for Birdie, there’s no “cheese” tactic that you can use to easily defeat opponents. You have to get lucky with your supplements and you have to get luck with your jump-in/crossup attacks to open them up with combos.

Hope that helps.

spamming his jump grab on wakeup doesn’t work?

Sound like Fang’s story

ya’ll are part of the problem. I would rather grind this shit out then have to pay any money for something this simple. But instead, all you’re telling capcom is that you don’t want to work for stuff and would rather spend more money messing up other people like myself that believe we shouldn’t have to pay real money for this shit. Its like everyone forgot about all the DLC BS that capcom has done recently and you wanna go back to it. So glad I’m giving up from fighting games.
