That’s good to know, thx for the info. But teleport isn’t my main problem against Seth.
I disagree on that. Even with Claw I use jMP/jHP as anti-airs as often as possible. Why ?
Because if you do not anti-air, you get the mix-up that’s going to follow : normals/f-traps that require you to block without teching/jumpinng, tick throw that requires you to tech, command throws requiring backdashes… and if you just do them you get OSed. You won’t guess right everytime, that’s impossible unless… you anti-air them, avoiding the mix-up completely. It’s not the jump that bothers me, it’s the mix-up following it.
Furthermore, i you fight a lot of Guys or Akumas… they have some pretty ambiguous jumps for people who would get too wise at blocking. And terrific damage at the end if you make one wrong guess. =)
I’ll try this, but you can’t if he’s frame-trapping you.
I think my defense is quite bad indeed. My Claw is not bad thus, because my offense is much better.
Currently, i decided to switch to Rose for sometime in order to learn things that would help my Claw later. And I tell you, sometimes, having anti-airs or invincible reversals really does help. Because you can OS your defense as much as the opponent does OS his attacks, in fact.
Those were unnecessary. I was trying to discuss, i don’t know why you react that way. The « Don’t talk to many Rose players do you? XD» nonsense maybe.
You did a wonderful work with your counter=hit blog, and gained my respect by that. Thus I’ll just quit arguing with you. Bye.
I don’t like it when people mix up terminology. It bugs me because it feels like trying to explain things will be pointless. The last person who got terminology mixed up here blamed me for fucking up their “safe jump” repeatedly. Eventhough they were doing it entirely wrong to begin with.
I basically said he had no anti-airs. You then try to tell me he has “j.MP”. That isn’t an “anti-air”. That’s an air to air. I’m correcting you. And you didn’t read my post right when I said “If you read the command throw”. You just assumed I meant that holding up was the end of worrying.
TLDR: Don’t reply to my posts by reading half of what I’ve said. I get snappy.
I’d say NYC Seth players are pretty competent, as well as the #1 ranked Seth on GFWL. Seth is dangerous, yes, but frankly, Vega has enough ambiguous setups vs Seth that he can deal a solid 40-60% in one combo from, and they’re ambiguous to the point that even the Vega doesn’t know if it will crossup or not, and in this case, they’re also 100% safe, whereas with Seth, Vega’s one of the few characters that can make any of his moves unsafe/punishable, besides safejumps, of course. Not to mention, Vega has moves that he can use to avoid ALL mixups after an fadc’d dp, whereas every other character in the cast has to guess with bad odds.
And in Cubano vs Flipchip’s case… Filipino was just the better player, plain and simple. People underestimate how good he really is, as a player.
Vega is a hell of a lot better than he was in vanilla but he simply doesn’t have the tools, combo potential, or ultra setups that the better characters have. Plus for whatever reason they keep nerfing things that really don’t need to be nerfed. (was cosmic heel really going to make Vega dominate tourneys? I doubt it)
