Arcade stick on lap or tabletop?

I play with it in my lap, since my stick has rubber feet on the bottom.

I use my computer monitor so for right now I put my stick on my lap, but I really need to switch to a table, lap isn’t fun for extended play.

Lap Fighter

my tournament edition sf4 stick goes on my lap…it’s perfect sized for it… but my ps2/dreamcast mas stick has to go on a table top…toooo big

lap land! ok bad joke lol

Lap, don’t have a table thats the right height so I’ve not tried that way.

on my lap atm my desk is way to clutterd n small to put it anyware else

it depends on how the size of ur joystick because i have a american style and t.e. edition stick so with my american stick that would go on my coffee table but me t.e. stick since its much bigger and weights its more comfortable on my lap

Both… Just depends on the seating and posture for certain moves.

I have a decent table I bought to mount a racing wheel to. It’s now the resting place of my arcade stick. Sometimes when I want to change it up, ill play from my lap.

does anyone else who uses stick on lap find the rubber feet uncomfortable…? i have the TE and i had to remove the feet… even with jeans on, the rubber feet gets distracting…

It took me a while to get the find a good position for me because I started playing in the arcades years ago, where you are standing up and have excellent stability - the arcade machine is not going to move anywhere when you pull a combo. I used to use a Hori EX2 on my lap on a couch, but that was awful for non charge characters. I tried using it on a table but it would fly all over the place with the force of my moves. Then I got a Matcatz TE and found that the weight and rubber feet are great for table top so I put it on my coffee table and got a polystyrene filled foot stool to sit on, thus not being too high for the table. That is as perfect as I think I could ever get at home.

liking table but i think i should get used to the lap or on another chair…

same setup here :), but tabletop ideally. Sticks move around to much on your lap so that’s a no-no.

Tabletop

Just find a comfortable position and enjoy!

i like modded SE’s because there perfect for the lap, there so light i can sit and hold it sideways and still play fine with it.

When I use a SE I play with it on a stool. The TE is so big and heavy I can put it on my lap with no problems, it moved around at first but I just dialed back the force I was using… its just some electric switches, no need to beat the shit out of it to get it to respond.

Lap. Gotta have a big/heavy stick otherwise it will move.
