Arcade SSF4 Bison: What tweaks or changes would you want to see?

lol laud didn’t you want a psycho banish, like gief’s banishing flat for bison before the release of super? is was that someone else?

  1. Let bison hold his back charge during a throw and not just his down charge.
  2. A Psycho overhead that has the purple stuff. (Psycho Banish from Capcom vs. Snk)
  3. A useful sweep that is not soo slow.
  4. Head stomp tracking.
  5. CAPE!

I feel this should have already been apart of Bison, am I wrong? :confused:

You can space mk scissors to be safe, and put yourself at -1 or -2.

Hk scissors is a bit riskier. Spaced right, it’s about -6 ish, so it’ll be about as safe as a blocked jab Criminal Upper.

lol, I did think an overhead with some of dat purp would have been awesome for Super, but for a minor update, I actually don’t want ANY changes period. I stopped going to arcades when Super came out because I never want to play vanilla dictator again. If they actually changed something useful like having Bison hold charge during his throw animations, then I’d never want to play console dictator again. That actually might not be a bad thing per say, but still!

i think an overhead/kara would be awesome but i dont think he deserves it

i do have a couple of requests. pls take out the throw frames on ex crusher. i dont even get why capcom decided to do that. also i think itd be cool if knee press was airborne faster but maybe thats too much

This is one I forgot. Honestly regular and ex should both be invincible to air throws imo unless they catch you with it early in HS startup. Air throws are retarded in this game.

I agree with supermin too that ex pc shouldnt be throwable. It rarely happens anyway tho…but it seems really dumb when it does.

And my original request…faster startup/movement on slide. That shit has a 5 minute startup. Right now its just a gotcha move.

But Bison NEEDS weaknesses. Every tool in his arsenal should have an obvious yet specific use with relatively simple counters. If you’re getting air-thrown out of ex HS’s then you’re getting read like a book 'nuff said. Bison has soo many escapes from wake-up with meter I swear shotos don’t have it this good.

Btw as sexy as cross-up DR would be, wouldn’t that give Bison a Vega-esque vortex? I’m not sure about the properties of the move as I never try to land it on standing opponents.

If a characters lands an airthrow usually he is not reading you like a book more likely he wrote a book, made a movie about it and released on dvd before jumping and grabbing bison in midair.Remember when bison jumps you have a lot of time to react and the fact that you give some chars an out where they can counter any airborne move is ridiculous risk reward. Which is why bison is so 1 dimensional.
And wake up options with meter. Look the best option is block not with standing the two shoto OS. A simple jumpback takes care of two options and resets the third for a lot of chars. Making dr cross up would be useful on wake up applications because the threat would keep opponents at bay.
More damage on super would be nice. Reward bison users for blocking or not getting themselves in position to waste bar.

Anyone with an air throw can on reaction jump back air throw Bison out of just about anything. The range on most air throws is simply put retarded in this game.

It’s only fadc-able on the first hit which doesn’t knockdown. U2 has way too much start up to hit from any fadc. You can PC in corner rose cancel U2. Also U2 is anti fireball why the hell do you want U1 to go through them?

I’d be fine with no changes to Bison (he’s solid as is). But I’d like to see two slight buffs:

  1. Either Knee Press or Psycho Crusher (but not both!) should be airborne from frame 1 (to beat grabs, prevent combos on counter-hit, etc.). EX Knee Press or EX Psycho Crusher, at least.

  2. A safer teleport. Any one of reducing the recovery time after Bison reappears, having Bison airborne until he recovers, allowing teleports to be cancelled into something else (with reduced, but not entirely removed recovery), or just having the purple shadow images show up in all four possible locations.

The improved teleport could possibly help against Guile, but I can’t think of any real buffs that would even out that match without also helping Bison in his good/even matchups (e.g., against Vega or Ryu).

How about s.hk and s.mk are both 2 hit to break armor (as well as being special cancellale as was suggested before). Lulz.

Well, with the addition of new characters there WILL be some sort of tweaking in relation to those matchups, and will subsequently affect all the other matchups. However, capcom does do tweaking of different kinds between updates of their games so who is to say that we won’t see something significant or some buffs that he very well could use.

I would be happy if Head Stomp merely put my opponent into block mode. That is about the only change I really want, but some of the other stuff mentioned here wouldn’t be bad either. Here’s hoping that we get something decent.

I think it is best to expect NOTHING and hope for no nerfs at least of any kind. I remember the the tweaks thread before super, it was huge and none of it made it into the game except maybe arguably the PC fix.
