TBH I think Gen always had potential in this game but nobody really got good with him like Yeb has. If all people ever did was play 5000 Gens everyday , Instead of the usual Sagat/ Ryu/ Boxer/ Ken w.e , I personally ( as good as Yeb is) dont think he would of done as well as he did.
Not to take anything away from the guy though, As someone mentioned earlier , the ambiguous cross up oga into ultra, its crazy but if poeple were pulling this off 7 months ago then Gen would be free right now , exactly like Blocking blankas ultra or blocking Chun lis cross up H.k bullshit move. All free now… but Gen and the other none played characters, 90 % of people are like 6 months behind. besides… who wanted to get match up experience and train against a character no-one used?
They may not have shown up at tourneys but there are some very, very, VERY good Rose players. DivineRagnarok from PSN for example… excellent Rose.
