This is our short-notice Christmas gift to all the SRK members as a thank you to all those who have supported us since we opened this summer. It’s not much, but it’s the best we can do this year. I hope a good amount of you can make it out to this even though it is a Wednesday. This will be in place of our normal Thursday night fight night since it falls on Christmas Eve this particular week.

Now the details:

Admission to the arcade will be **ABSOLUTELY FREE **to all SRK members on this day! We want anyone and everyone to come out and take advantage of this offer. The FREE admission is ONLY for SRK members. If you bring friends or family, they only have to pay the usual $4 fight night entry.

We will be having three tournaments this evening:

Street Fighter IV (PS3), Tekken 6 (PS3) & Samurai Kirby (SNES)

SFIV and T6 will start at **7pm **and will be just **$5 **to enter each game. That money will be put towards the pot split which will be 70/30 if we get 12 or less and 70/20/10 if there is more than 12. I will also procure some sort of prize for the winners of each game. I have a copy of YOUNG EINSTEIN on VHS that needs a good home :slight_smile: **Samurai Kirby **will start shortly after those two finish. It will be a $1, winner takes all. SK is serious business so we will take over the back room and demand complete silence. Be ready for this. If Columbus attends, be afraid. Amanda and I will be practicing to avenge our prior defeat. All tournies are DOUBLE ELIMINATION. We may even toss in a JACKIE CHAN: FOF if time allows. There’a always time for Jackie right?

RAFFLE - We will be raffling off a PS3 SFIV SE stick and possibly a TE. Tickets are $5 each. You can buy as many as you’d like. If we sell 20 tickets, I will throw in 8 Seimitsu buttons. If we sell 30 tickets, I’ll throw in a Sanwa stick and balltop. If somehow we get to 40 tickets, the winner will get a TE instead of an SE and parts!!! There will also be 2 other prizes included in the raffle no matter how many tickets are sold.
Every dollar from the raffle will be used to make the arcade even better. It will all go towards making the Showcase cabinet to play all the CPS-2 and 3 games I can get my hands on, so it’s a win-win for everyone. SFIII: 3rd Stirke and ST on a Showcase cab with Japanese sticks and buttons. It’s coming friends. You will help make it happen

We open the doors at 3pm so if you don’t have to work, come early and play some games. There will be casual stations open during the tournament for those of you who don’t care to enter the tournaments and of course you always have the 50+ arcade games to enjoy.

Also, I’d like to get a nice spread of holiday cookies, candy and other various desserts for everyone to partake of. I know Amanda & my wife will certainly contribute some. Even if you can’t make them yourself, call Mom or Grandma. If that fails, stop at Meijer if you have to. Anything would be greatly appreciated by all who attend I’m sure.

Good luck at TvU this weekend everyone. I will most likely pop in for a bit early on to cheer on the home team for SFIV. I’ll bring my sticks also, so if anyone needs one for a match, come find me. I’ll be wearing a purple tye-died shirt with crochet hamsters on it.

I’ll try to do this. I wont be entering any tourneys, because I have to work, which means I have to leave before the tourneys end.

Phil, you can post this on TZ and make the offer to those memebers as well. I’m pretty sure most of them are also SRK members anyways but just in case.

But Christmas Eve is the day TNT is going to start a marathon of the Arnold Schwarzenegger holiday classic Jingle All the Way for 24 hours. Not sure if I’ll be able to make it

But this is on the 23rd so you can make it home in time for the first showing. Or you could buy the dvd in any bargain bin for $2 and watch all day EVERY DAY (except the 23rd of course).

Also, I will be in need of some setups for this event. Seeing as its a free event in the first place, I suppose I can offer a free IBC root beer to those that supply. I will need 2 PS3 with SFIV and 2 PS3s with T6. Who will take the free root beers?

Dunno if I’ll be able to make it out to this (don’t even know if I’ll be able to make it to TvU). A friend of mine is coming back home from the Navy for a little over a week and I’d really like to spend some time with him, and I have no idea what days he’ll be able/want to hang out (he’ll be here from the 17th to the 29th, I believe). I’ll try though.

Bring him along. There’s lots of quality time to be had at an arcade with friends. Unless he’s anti-arcade but why would you want a friend like that?
