If you’re into the adventure / fantasy type stories, you will want to look into Utawarerumon or Tears to Tiara. If slice of life anime is your thing, look into To Heart, To Heart ~Remember my Memories~, To Heart 2, Comic Party, or White Album.
I know this game was updated somewhat recently, was Riannon still ridiculous? Because the fights I saw everyone was picking her and she seemed really good at both keep-away and pressure all in the same character. Thought that was a bad combination to have.
I think Riannon was toned down in Version 1.5 but I’m not sure so if anyone can confirm that, will much appreciate it. As of right now, everyone is playing Chizuru and as it stands, she’s beast at the moment until people start to figure her out.
jbbs should always be taken with a grain of salt but she’s been usually ranked as one of the weaker/weakest characters since the updates. Whether or not that’s true I do believe she’s one of the least played, even when she was the top character.
The weird thing about Riannon is on paper she shouldn’t have been so OP in Version 1. But she had something that the rest of the cast couldn’t deal with and that was all it took. When 1.5 dropped she took her place at the bottom of the tier list and that’s not changing anytime soon. The problem now is Chizuru is more powerful at this juncture than Riannon was in Version 1. Nobody in the cast can handle her rushdown pressure and she’s just owning the game right now. And I think Oboro might have some decent stuff but nobody’s going to get hip to that until the console version where people can freely experiment with his tools. In the mean time enjoy some new matches.

The fighting game situation today is really a lot like it was 15-16 years ago!
All these girl fighters, the fighting scene going critical mass, people complaining about Capcom’s endless SF upgrades, people debating WHY Mortal Kombat is so popular even though the fighting engine is nonexistent, BUT then it’s so different with $150+ joystick controllers, Net play, and all these tournaments that didn’t exist back then…
I am afraid, though, that we’re reaching a saturation point. I had thought we had reached it around two years but I was obviously wrong.
We’re overdue for a correction in the game industry, like it or not.
Obviously not gonna happen this generation… Next gen, maybe?
Still, it does have a lot of interesting parallels to back then…
US release of Aquapazza – almost as positive as I was about the US Fighting Edge release happening that this ain’t gonna happen. Too much stuff to license and probably not a big enough “fighting girl” market in the US… unless they have poly-rendered boobs.

If you’re talking about Manaka, she seems like a floaty type character now as compared to when she was in version 1.0. I don’t know but she seems to have been toned down a tad bit in the speed department. All I know is that she has some seriously pains playing against faster characters like Chizuru, Touka, Oboro, & Morgan.
Seems like if she is played at mid-range, she can keep people out well . She can fire those books mid-air as well, right?
Yeah she can toss them in the air or ground. Best projectiles + arguably best super but most awkward movement and normals so she’s a character of extremes. In the off chance she corners an opponent she can apply pressure and do damaging combos just like any other character albeit looking much sillier.
