I’m mainly playing the game in the arcade (360 version online patch, where are you? :mad:) but there’s not too much competition for it.
SNK really screwed the pooch on this one.

i dont even have the game yet… played it 2 times for a little over an hour in my entire life and my avatar should tell how impressed i am by this game… i mean come on… fantastic graphics, awesome character design, unique character specific gameplay …list goes on… and the game feels “finished”… i hated sf4 after playing it for 6 months but even that game felt “finished”… and cant even talk about tekken 6… cause that game has soo much stuff that its like urs freaken birth day… kof12 just doesnt measure up by content alone… and as a fanboy of kof i still choose it over all other games cause atleast the gameplay was good… even though online sucked and i hardly got to play anyone… but when i still played the game …trying to get used to it cause it’s soo different… and then snk has to completely nerf my grapplers and make me hate the game…
I really like the game, but I just don’t have a reason to play it when I can play against people online in SF4, if online worked I’d be completely happy with my purchase, instead I have game I hold onto out of hope one of my friends will be willing to play it whenever the come over to hang out.
What I’m doing now is simply hoping that a more polished KOFXIII can be released and fix the problems we have here.
Wasn’t KOF2003 shitty? I know that money can eventually run out but if they could go on to make XI and do a bunch of rereleases hopefully they can make some improvement from here. Just tried some online (post-patch) and the lag on yellow connections is unplayable for me (I hate online passionately anyways though).

If KOF XIII bombs and the series has to be sold to Capcom or Arcsys, I pray to god that Capcom picks it up.
If that happens, and I pray it does not, I would not be interested in playing 3D rendered, beefier versions of the KoF cast with sloppy controls. I’d also hate to see how stripped down the game engine would be.

ya… i’m REALLy hoping that SNK is able to pull a 2k3 > XI transformation for XII > XIII… i dont care what the hell they have to do… us as fans deserves FULL attention and to be cared to if they want us as loyal fans… they just need to NOT think “lets go back to basics” and put in work and create the BEST kof ever… which imo was XI …so topping that off is gonna be impressing …if they can do it
so keep CCs & deadlocks… take out bC+D… add in 3 DMs… keep the new C+D stuff… add MORE characters… more complex combos… MORE moves… MORE stages… and make it so that u can ONLY use 1 DM per CC just to make it so characters like ryo can’t do 3 haohshokokans in 1 CC… and the rest i dont know… use ur innovative minds SNK… maybe even toss in that tekken force type of thing u guys r making and that kof sky stage game as a side dish… make them smaller or w/e… but hey understand consumerism… learn from all the other companies… this day & age just a game doesnt cut it… everybody wants extra crap… even if its not nessecary …just put it there… maybe u’ll end up with 10000 more buyers just cause u added a stupid little mode that noone really will play but will hype the game more… THINK “money” …BUT DONT GO RETARDED …THINK FANS > MONEY! remember more FANS = more $$
as for SNK being bought …one way i dont want crapcom to buy it because they might ruin KOF in general with w/e the guy above me said… but in the other way it might work out for the KOF team as they will have more Time & Money to work with… thus they can promise ur better products and finished games… and maybe down the road we can see Last Blade 3 or something…

To answer the question- YES. Yes I still play KOFXII, I treat it as it is, an unfinished game that’s KOF Lite or meant to bring in people from other genres because it is very easy to learn. I also treat it as a new beginning, like KOF 2003 was, they sure didnt get it right the first time, but KOFXI was far superior. Whether more people (Americans) jump on during KOFXIII or not quite frankly I don’t care to be honest. My game plan has shifted elsewhere. Though I prefer KOFXI I still play it and I feel confident they will pick up the slack for KOFXIII. KOFXII still more than likely has sold more in the US than any other KOF has in the US, so that would give them more hope for KOFXIII.
As far as online goes- I don’t care. I don’t put my hopes on online anyways because I don’t base getting better online. I don’t depend on anyone else to help me get better. I do what it takes to travel and get the competition I need. Online just doesn’t do it for me, I’d rather play in person anyday of the week.
I’m not so sure I’d want Capcom to pick up SNKp, I don’t like how they’ve axed the SNK characters, I dont like the Capcom-esque SNK characters. So sure Capcom would bring more money, a reliable netcode and more promotion/knowledge to the table, but I don’t trust them with SNKp characters.

Why do you waste your time playing kof12’s garbage online in the first place, yet refuse to play GGPO/2DF which has really good netplay?
Edit: I don’t think the kof series is dead yet…kof2k2UM has a good future I think. It’s getting a lot of play all over asia, even Dakou and Xiaohai are serious about it.
He doesn’t play KOF XII online. He plays people in real life. Some of us have tried to get DG on GGPO/2DF but he never did it.
I dont play online frequently on KOFXII…I can name people that I’ve played on KOFXII online and beaten…(From both the US and Mexico)
I tried with DeadlyRaveNeo getting 2df setup but to no avail on my CPU…I’d be happy to try again but we have tried getting it set up…he’s my witness…
Who says I refuse to play on GGPO/2df? I’ve tried to get those setup on my CPU but to no avail so I’ve pretty much reserved it for some other time to try it. I know 2k2UM has high hope, I’ve seen how much people are playing it elsewhere.
And no way in hell KOF is dead, only in America and a few other countries, but as I’ve said before, America does not equal the rest of the world!!! I’m gonna show everyone this weekend just how Alive KOF is!!!
