I was playing last nite, still no patch. Its the 25th already! Release the dam patch!
My friends and I try and get together and play at the very least once a week. I also try and fool around in practice ever so often. I feel there is still a lot to learn about this game and I find it to be very balanced. The only real big deterrent for me not playing this game would be lack of competition.
This game is a blast, very addicting.
I just got the game last week and have been playing a few hours everyday. I have one person I play with online semi-regularly but other than that mostly practice mode. It’s been pretty hard to find a match. I found a yellow connection last night that I played against for awhile. Fought a lady who passed it to her husband and then their son. The guy spent the whole time trash talking me even though I didn’t have my mic on.
I like the game, but my online experience hasn’t been the best.
Not until the patch comes out
Still playing it.
My xbox live expires this week looks like I won’t be able to enjoy the patch for awhile
I haven’t played it in over a month because of the shitty netcode. Until the online netcode is fixed, I’m not touching it.
i havent been playing this game simply because its not finished with or without netcode fixing, if they EVER include downloadable character content then i will play again. Im taking this shit back to the store and awaiting tekken 6, a very very finished game to say the least.GUilty gear and blazblue are very good games, tvc will be good tekken will be good. kof12 curently will always be shit, kof13 im excited about though.
Psst.
There won’t be a 13 at this rate.
I’m playing the best version of this awesome game.
Offline versus.
Oh no, there will be.
It’ll just be an RTS.
An MMO. Isn’t it already in the works? I could be wrong.
I put my disc away after playing it with some friends, for some reason it looks horrible on my tv. :[ it looked better in the 'cades.
I still play this but I’m waiting for the 360 patch before playing online. If that is, the patch ever comes out…
I’ve went back to street fighter 4. I really enjoyed the gameplay of this game, but I couldn’t recommend it to my friends with the netplay being what it is so with no real life competition and online being absolutely empty I went back to street fighter.
I’m still keeping a copy of the game so when the patch does get released I’ll see if more people are online for games, but really with street fighter still being popular and tekken 6 coming at the end of the month I’m pretty sure this game is dead
Really sad, hopefully snk/ignition learns from this blunder,
i stopped playing about 2 weeks ago… couldn’t stand not being able use clark like before… honestly i have no other complains rather than that… i got sorta used to using his new style but just couldn’t stand my grabs getting beaten by normals… that right there is 1 mistake snk made with 12 to loose a long time fan like me… i’ll gladly play 97/98/XI anyday though…
I bought KOF XII day one. I was the first person in the store that day. Played it hardcore for about a week, then got tired of the online. Got tired of being promised a patch for about a month and a half, so I sold it.
If the patch ever comes out (and that’s looking like a big if) and it actually works I’ll buy it again.
KoFXII was the most expensive game I’ve ever bought and I played it for about an hour… no polish in any aspect, never even booted up the multiplayer, the gameplay was not what I was expecting, and it was way uglier than I thought it would be in motion because of the fucking scaling effect. Plus, for some reason, half the levels are so dark you can barely see your characters.
So it was $75 for 1 hour playtime… $75/hour. SF4 on the other hand was cheaper than a normal game and I’ve played it for 200 hours at least. It was definitely a better deal.
That’s one good reason to get rid of it. Having your character’s style destroyed just really takes it out of the game. The new Daimon let me down. I mean come on, no grabbing from the ground? a regular punch evading my DM? Blah. And the throws just come out so damn slow.
Well it’s a funny story really, I was really getting into the game despite the fact that the PSN patch didn’t do much for the online besides confuse red/yellow bar quality for me.
It wasn’t until I heard about Super Street Fighter IV from this thread http://forums.ignitionusa.net/showthread.php?t=1866
that I knew KOF XII was done for. And I checked it out and the Interview with Ono said they were looking to expand the online modes for SF4 and hinting at “group mode(s)” for the upgrade, so that did it for me.
However I do regret playing SF4 again, the combo system is absolutely garbage compared to KOF XII, and if not for the rage system, SF4’s balance wouldn’t compare either. What I’m saying is that I still like KOF better, but if Super Street Fighter 4, Blaze Blue CS, or even Tekken 6 delivers on all the new features they promised, I don’t see any reason to bother with XII anymore.
I still play, but only with friends; I’ve given up on the online. I think it’s a pretty fun game, and I think the overall gameplay edges out SFIV for me, but there’s just not enough to it. Maybe when KoFXIII rolls around, things will be up to the old standard.
