Anyone prefer MvC to MvC2?

Dark Sakura can handle that lol

But that’s awesome!

blackheart is officially badass.
but i dont get why ppl dont like the backgrounds in MVC2. the 3dness is great.

don’t forget “Complete Change” Ryu featured ONLY in MvC

let you control Ryu, Ken or Akuma on the Fly.

Oh right, for some reason I thought they were in MvC, I must have been thinking of MSHvsSF.

Still though, I stand by my point that hte roster felt a bit thin considering the huge amount of characters they could have pulled from their back catalogues.

As for Blackheart being badass, the only comic I read with him in it was Punisher, Wolvie and Ghost Rider all teaming up to fight him for some reason.

I think they have to pay $$$ to license each character

I assume some characters cost more money than others…

Yes, but only because of Morrigan’s eternal slumber.

This is what ruined the game the most for me personally. This is where MvC1 had the sequel beat by limiting the assists to a few uses so that the player had to conserve and use them wisely like a trump card or a semi-clear all bomb in a 2-d shooter. They were still a relevant part of the game, but not the WHOLE game like Marvel vs. Capcom 2.

What’s with the rude posts?

the sad part is, you described Hokuto no Ken; not MvsC2.

if i were to play any marvel vs besides mvc2 it would be xmen vs street fighter for sure

false.

you have issues with mvc2 assists and yet you dont mind the infinite supers during a duo in marvel one?

some of you guys need to go back and watch the old chipfests/lockdowns

that too lol. I just dont want him hitting me with damn War Destroyer. I swear, that super is so random to combo with. Sometimes I do c.lk, c.mp, s.fk -> war destroyer and it will connect, other times, not so lucky (and severely punished for a missed super). Is there a way to hit confirm with war destroyer? I know in mvc2 you just do the jumping infinite all the way to the corner and then you sort of get under them to do S.FK -> War Destroyer and it will work just fine. But for mvc1, not so reliable.

Blackheart is from Ghost Rider, but in these games he’s taking his real demon form.
Shuma-Gorath is from the Dr. Strange series.

You are also sort of limited in assists in mvc2. You can’t just be calling them out. You’ll get them killed.

I like wolverine. He has claws and is made out of adamantium. And he gets stronger when he gets madder and killed galactus once.

sadly he got raped in mvc2. and there is no need for 2 different wolverines who pretty much suck just the same in mvc2. His low stamina is his main poison to kill himself in. I mean if at least he would heal twice as fast as other characters, then i wouldn’t complain as much because that IS part of his mutant ability. Same with sabretooth.

In terms of aesthetic presentation MVC1 looks better. In terms of gameplay, while extremely broken, I do like some aspects of MVC1 more than MVC2. I think its also a comfort issue for me–I just was initially better at MVC1 than mVC2.

MVC1 looked like an official game, MVC2 looked like it was made in Mugen.

I agree with this, but I still prefer MvC2 to MvC.

Capcom seems to like random Marvel characters.

Marrow?
Shuma Gorath?

I can’t believe they got in a video game.

I’m a big fan of Silver Samurai and Spiral, but even they’re 3rd string characters at best.

How can anyone hate on Shuma Gorath!? Awesome character.

I wish MVC2 XBLA released was not just minor graphical update. Home consoles have more than 8 buttons these days. I wished they would of taken advantage of this and separated the light/medium attack from 1 button to 2 buttons. Would make a lot of characters that depended on directional attacks a lot more viable. This has always been my biggest gripe with MvC2.
