Anyone prefer MvC to MvC2?

To each his own, I guess.

Big combos, big damage and infinites aren’t new to MvC2 though. I don’t see how it’s any crazier than past fighting games, especially the VS series.

And dexterity alone doesn’t win matches in MvC2, as you’re suggesting. I’ve played lots of training mode monkeys that simply lose badly because they don’t think.

DANG lookit all that HATE! I deliberately come into low-rated threads to see all the hate. It’s good fun. People get so worked up.

On topic, though, I guess: I loved MvC1. It was amazing at the time. But ultimately MvC2 is much, much better IMO. Even if I kinda suck at it :stuck_out_tongue:

I thought it was obvious the MvC bathhouse was Honda’s. It actually has his name on the left side.

MvC2 backgrounds sucked, no argument here.

My fav was probably MSHvSF for nostalgia and presentation. The game would actually been decently balanced if they took out the fucking stupid Wolvie speed-up super.

Mvc2 > mvc

MVSF gets borring really fast, even without playing Wolv your like why im I playing this game? XvSF was a lot better cept for Storm run away crap, MVC1 I still like better then MVC2. MVC2 god tiers like mag really get on my nerves. Id rather play vs double war, strider wolv, red venom then Magneto

He only says the names of regular Supers, not duo Supers unfortunately.

This thread makes no sense from a 4Play perspective.

I forgot about DEATH STAR, but I also loved LEGION WAVE and SOUL SWORD!

SHINKUU TATSUMAKI SENPU KYAKU!!! KO!!! <MSHvSF Anouncer/>

Man that guy was gdlk!

Did they push back the release of Sammy vs Capcom again?

Win.

what this thread is epic.

Even if there is dizzy or no dizzy in mvc1, characters like War Machine will just infinite you with no penalty whats so ever. At least in mvc2 the opponent goes into a dizzy where you can’t combo them anymore. I find myself using characters no one else bothers to pick, like Capt. America, Morrigan, Ryu, Mega Man, and some others. I dont know, mvc1 just sort of had a small cast of characters and only a few of them are worth playing. Gold War machine is bullshit, so if i fight a GWM user, I just turtle and stay the hell away from him.

Hahahaha for sure.
I find myself too intimidated to wait in line at an MvC2 machine.

hahaha

yeah

what was up with that

or just lock him down with striders super

I always loved the way that the opponent’s music would hit when their team-mate got KO’d in MVC1.

Like others have said, the backgrounds, music and aesthetics were nicer in the first game, but I think that’s mainly because it had a far far smaller roster.

Having said that, MVC1’s roster was pretty odd, I mean, no Iron Man? And why was Shuma Gorath and Blackheart featured? Not that it was horrible, but there were a lot of bigger names you would think would be featured first.

umm there was no blacky and shuma in MVC1, but they was in MSHVSF.

hmm with that im not shure b/c of the fact that MVC1 didnt have the god tier ppl on it, but MVC2 allowd me to do better combos with certain teams by using the assists and THC always made the match fun.:razzy:

Yeah, I own both copies and MvC is better because it is more balanced and Onslaught is the last boss. Not to mention it actually has Marvel levels unlike MvC2 like Daily Bugal.
To this day, the best tag team cross over type game ever released was Xmen vs Streetfighter. The lineup was amazing!!!

I don’t even know where Shuma Gorath and Blackheart even came from. They don’t seem Marvel to me. They’re in MSH vs SF.

I prefer the sequel honestly, I’m more familiar with it and the roster. C’mon Sakura and Dan for the win!

I didn’t know these marvel characters either at first (Shuma Gorath, Blackheart). Then I read ghostrider comic where blackheart ripped some guys lungs from his chest and devoured them. Don’t worry, Blackheart is officially cool, lol.
